Flea & Street Markets
Salamanca Market is a bustling Saturday market in Hobart, Tasmania, known for its diverse offerings. With over 300 vendors, the market features an array of products including food, produce, art, clothing and Tasmanian timber items. The vibrant atmosphere along the waterfront showcases locally crafted goods such as unique clothing and jewelry, artisan cheeses, fresh produce and more.
If you’re there on Saturday I’m a sure someone told you must visit Salamanca market and they are right! It’s an amazing walk around plenty of options to buy, eat or gift. At night and the other days Salamanca place is full of life, with places open till late(not something you find easy when in Hobart) and plenty of options to dine or drink. Trust me you will find yourself keep revisiting this area.

What an amazing Saturday market! This is definitely worth planning a trip around if you want to shop locally and for me especially, for souvenirs for the family! There are so many great stalls from gifts, food, alcohol and more plus local artists playing their music for some fun entertainment! Special call outs for me were (see pics) Cheeky Devil Roaster - they are great. They took the beans and ground them for me to take home to my family to try as well~ love the coffee and love the hat! The Artesia Pewter company what amazing and beautiful pieces they have. I bought wine stoppers for the family members back in America with their favorite Aussie animal. The Tee-shirt shop with such great prices and sizes. Plenty of styles both male and female and some nice light coats too! Ned Pickering Arts for playing an assume fiddle!
Jane F — Google review
It is highly recommended, everyone. There is nothing quite like gaining a deeper understanding of the city. This is one of the most enjoyable local weekly markets one could experience. You can find a wide variety of items here. I particularly enjoyed the fresh produce, food, and apparel. The atmosphere is quite pleasant for exploration. You will certainly have a delightful day there.
Shubham N — Google review
Yes, go! There are so many stalls, there’s something for everyone!! We had sausage in rolls for breakfast with some fresh apple juice from another stall. We got some socks as well as the most delightful ring, recycled from a vintage spoon! The day we went , there was a cruise ship in town, but it wasn’t overcrowded. Plenty of space that stretches right up the hill.
Fran H — Google review
We zoomed down at 8.30 am to the iconic market on Saturday in Hobart . We beat the crush of crowds from a visiting cruise ship that worsened until we left at 10.30am. Photographs, vintage goods, tastings, great coffee and lots of Tasmanian artisans . What’s not to love? My American visitor loved it and left clutching a pile of gifts for home. I left clutching a heap of vintage posters, fabulous sourdough, empanadas and black and white photographs of Hobart .
Denise K — Google review
Great day out. Variety of stalls selling high quality products and produce. Not a place to get a bargain but great to sample products straight from the supplier. Very much takes pride in the products produced in Tasmania.
Leanne R — Google review
Love this market with lots of local delicacies and goodies. From gin, whiskey to mead, grab a quick seafood skewers with delicious lobster bisque till handmade craft, perfume oil and souvenirs. You name it. Especially love d mead tasmanian home made cookies and muesli. Will go back
The B — Google review
Great variety of local produce, artists, food, drinks, & amazing hard-crafted items. Spoilt for choice! Spent quite a few hours browsing here. Took home quite a few treasures. The market is set just near the docks, so we also got to see the new 'Spirit of Tasmsnia'. You can see Mt Wellington from here, a majestic sight. Great food, drinks, & music. The stallholders were lovely to talk to & full of local knowledge. Loved our day here.

Nestled in the historic waterfront precinct of Hobart, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) offers a delightful blend of art, culture, and science. As Australia's second oldest museum, it presents an engaging array of exhibits that delve into Tasmania's rich history. Visitors can explore Indigenous Aboriginal culture, learn about the elusive Tasmanian Tiger, and admire colonial arts and crafts.
It’s such a blessing for the community to have a free museum like the Museum and Art Gallery here in Tasmania 🎁 There are so many different exhibitions covering a wide range of topics 🎨🦕🧬 To be honest, I’m not usually that interested in museums ,but we ended up learning so much and really enjoyed our visit! 😊 If you’ve never been, whether you’re a tourist or a local, you should definitely come and experience it for yourself 👣 There’s something for everyone ,kids and adults alike will find something fascinating to explore 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨

Huge museum with very interesting exhibitions on the history, culture, animals and art of Tasmania presented with rich content and high context. The museum was so big, we could not even „digest“ all information or provided texts, so we focused on some topics and sections of the museum. It is free of entry and a very recommended visit if you have 1-2h available during your stay in Hobart.

One of the best museum in Australia I have visited soo far. They have very good collection of animal birds, the butterfly room was spectacular. It’s a great place to spend a good time of 1.5 to 2 hours. A great place and must visit attractions for tourists.
Sudha — Google review
Amazing Museum and gallery! It’s full of fascinating information, beautifully arranged displays, and exciting stories about different animals. Each zone is so well designed that I could spend the whole day there. I really enjoyed it — and the best part is, there’s no admission fee!
Natsicha W — Google review
Quite a good museum. It was free on the day I went. Maybe it's always free. I'm not sure. Very kid/family friendly. If you find noise overwhelming, go at lunch time during the week when most families have left. I went for the Tasmanian Tiger. They have an informative exhibit. I also liked the little Tasmanian devil. He was very cute. I didn't realise there would be so many skeletons which is great. I also quite like the video with the universe playing on it. The chair is very comfy. The paintings along the purple wall were also very pleasant.
Nature I — Google review
Friendly staff high standard of exhibits. The Aboriginal and Antarctic displays are the best. Confusing layout, hard to find the different exhibits. Free entry is appreciated. Cloakroom for bags is useful.
Richard H — Google review
Near waterfront, free entry, not very big but has some interesting collections, worth sending 1-3 hours there. It has a beautiful butterfly collection here, but not much Tasmania history.
Matthew H — Google review
The museum is great. If you’re coming from a big city, it might seem a bit small at first, but it actually has some really interesting exhibits. I always think visiting museums is one of the best ways to get to know a place. My favorite part was the Antarctica section and the giant LEGO ship was seriously cool.

Ice cream shop
Van Diemens Land Creamery, established in 2005 by a Tasmanian dairy farming family, offers artisan ice cream made with fresh milk from their farm. Located on Hobart Waterfront, the creamery is a popular spot known for its delicious and unique flavors. Despite the long queues, visitors are willing to wait for a taste of their delightful ice creams.
2nd time visiting and enjoyed their ice cream again! I particularly liked the lavender flavour. This time it was lavender with coconut which was also nice but my all time favourite is lavender which was not available this time. Nevertheless all of their ice cream is nice and creamy and flavourful! Highly recommend!

Oh wow! One of the best gelatos and ice creams I’ve ever had! The pepper berry and honey gelato was heavenly! Oh and the staff are incredible! They take coeliac disease very seriously - there were separate gluten free cones, and they’d prepare the ice cream separately getting it from out the back. Very friendly, each ice flavour I tried was phenomenal! My mum and I became addicted to this place when we were staying in Hobart! A must visit when in Tassie!

This is a Tasmania ice-cream maker with a branch at Constitution Dock in Hobart. They are open from 12-8pm (weekdays) and 12-9pm (weekends) and have a small indoor area to enjoy ice-cream, otherwise be ready for take-away orders. Flavours available on the day are listed outside the shop. Visited recently and tried their Banana Caramel and Honeycomb flavours. You can purchase by size (cup or cone). Regular size includes two fairly small scoops. We felt the ice-cream texture was creamy but a bit softer than we generally like. These two flavours were interesting, might opt for more traditional choices next time around however. Overall, a fun place to try if exploring the harbour area and looking for dessert options nearby.
Brad — Google review
I’m giving this place 5 stars for its exceptional ice cream quality and variety! The queue may look intimidating, but it moves quickly, and the staff ensures everyone lines up orderly. Be ready to decide fast to keep things moving. If you’re dairy intolerant, go for the sorbet; it’s fantastic! After enjoying a two-week stay, here’s my ranking of favorite flavors: 1. Honeycomb 2. Mint Choc Crunch 3. Lavender & Dark Chocolate 4. Blood Orange Sorbet 5. Rafaela 6. Chocolate 7. Pepperberry Leatherwood Honey 8. Orange & Lemon 9. Pistachio 10. Boysenberry Ripple 11. Feijoa & Apple

One of the best freshest creamiest ice creams, must try in Hobart and across Tasmania. You can taste the fresh creaminess in every lick. Top flavours you must try are- Orange+ lemon Myrtle Pepperberry + leatherwood honey Lavender + white chocolate Unique flavours, generous serves, there’s also happy hour from 4-6 pm at the Hobart Dock 😊
Arundhati K — Google review
We loved the ice cream, not overly sweet! We tried the salted caramel and the Jamaican rum & raisin flavors, and both were rich, creamy, and full of flavor. A perfect treat after exploring the CBD . Worth stopping by if you’re in the area!
Ijaykay — Google review
Went to this creamery twice in our 5 days in Hobart. A very good selection of ice cream and sorbet, a popular and great spot for after dinner followed by a walk around the pier. Tried the banana & caramel, choc mint crunch (the crunch bits is a nice change from the typical choc chip), vanilla bean, choc hazelnut and watermelon sorbet. On Tues & Fri between 4-6pm you get 2 flavours for the price of one, so this is an awesome time to go!
Mae N — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that not only are their ice creams all gluten free, they also offer gluten free cones and are knowledgeable about coeliac disease! They will get a fresh tub from the freezer and use separate utensils if you tell them you're coeliac. The ice cream was absolutely delicious as well which was a huge bonus!

LARK Cellar Door in Hobart is a must-visit spot for those looking to experience the best of Tasmania's craft beers and spirits. Crafty Hobart By Night, hosted at Lark Cellar Door and Whisky Bar on Thursdays and Saturdays, offers a laid-back atmosphere where visitors can indulge in local craft beers and sample delectable dishes from various vendors.
As far as whisky and gin tastings go, this is a must! The atmosphere makes you feel like you've stepped back in time and you've stumbled across a hidden gem of Hobart. The staff are exceptionally friendly and know their stuff. They were happy to help, but also happy for us to sit and enjoy the whisky and the vibes. The variety of tastings and the recommended tastings is so well put together and it takes the worry out of having to decide. Highly recommend popping in and soaking it up!

Forget your average booze run, this is a whisky adventure. The staff? Think whisky encyclopedias with a sense of humour. They'll drop knowledge bombs on you about barley and barrels, but keep it entertaining. And the tasting board? Pure genius. A round platter of flavour hints, like a whisky treasure map. You'll be sniffing and swirling like a pro, even if you usually just down your drinks in one go

Very clean well laid out cellar door. Very welcoming staff accommodating all sales, enquiries and tastings. Amazing collection to chose from. Toilets on site and they have areas to sit inside and out. Will be back
Jillian R — Google review
Have had excellent experiences here before with great whisky, great conversations, and loved every second; today however despite a nearly empty bar there was little conversation, was forgotten for 15 min and had to remind the staff about the whisky and it was not a great experience. I'll still be back, but left disappointed on what should have been an excellent World Whisky Day.

The famous Tasmania distillery cellar door. Drop in for a dram or in our case gin and tonics in the sun. Soon to be upgraded. There is a full bar up the road as well. Only slip up for us is the absence of some light snacks. The rose gin was very distinctive. Bonus points for the harbour master Tasmanian amber ale!

Brooke Street Pier is a remarkable floating pontoon located on the south side of Sullivans Cove at Franklin Wharf. This 80-meter-long and 20-meter-wide structure serves as a high-tech ferry terminal and a market space for Tasmanian produce, specialty foods, artisanal alcohol, design items, and cosmetics.
We caught the Mona Roma ferry from here, lots of touristy shops and whiskey inside to keep you busy. Beautiful view out into the surrounding piers and across to Salamanca.

There are several piers along the Franklin Wharf including the Brooks Street Pier where you find a coffee shop, retail and souvenir shopping space and a few cruise boat operators. It makes for a nice addition to the visitor experience for those planning to spend time exploring the waterfront in this area of Hobart.

Fabulous, this is the place I caught the Mona Roma ferry. Neat, tidy and clean pier with great little pop-up-shops, selling great local crafts. The cafe serves great coffee and mini meat pies. Restaurant Maria

Restaurant
Nestled on Franklin Wharf, Restaurant Maria brings the flavors of the Mediterranean to Hobart. The ambiance evokes the romance and elegance of 1960s Mediterranean summers with its vibrant colors and textures. Embracing its waterfront location, the restaurant offers a seafood-centric menu complemented by maritime-inspired cocktails. Diners can expect creative twists on Tasmanian gourmet staples like scallops, oysters, and wallaby.
First - thank you Jo, Ray, Den, Heath, Manuel, and others - amazing service. 👏👏 The dishes - nothing was bad at all. The standouts were the taramasalata (OMG, 25 out of 10!!) and the wallaby tartare (with a white wine), the occy was surprisingly good with a red wine, and the dessert was just yum!! We will be back the next time we visit Hobart. 👍👍 For those looking to visit, book the kitchen bar seating. Chat with the awesome kitchen staff and they serve your dishes directly to you. 👍
Michael H — Google review
We came to Restaurant Maria with pretty high expectations after seeing all the great reviews—and honestly, it mostly lived up to the hype. The vibe is kind of like relaxed fine dining—elegant but still super welcoming and unpretentious. The staff were lovely and made us feel really at ease. We loved how the menu brings in local Tasmanian elements. The hummus and croquette dishes were absolute standouts—so much flavour and great textures, you can really tell there’s a lot of thought behind them. The only reason it’s a 4-star for us is th e main dish. We had the slow-cooked lamb shoulder, and while it was fine, it just didn’t have the same creativity or care as the rest of the meal. It felt a bit safe and a little boring compared to the other dishes. Still, Maria definitely has all the ingredients of a top-tier restaurant. With a bit more attention to the mains, it could be something really special.

We got the chefs tasting menu for my partners birthday. From the moment we arrive. The atmosphere was amazing. Staff so friendly and nice. Great service and the food was all amazing. Couldn’t fault any dish. Highly recommend. The octopus Orzo was stand out, and have to say the wallaby, macadamia hummus and homemade focaccia was 👌❤️ Huge shout out to Molly and the team. You made the night so special.

Have eaten out at a lot of places — and you can probably tell by the size of my stature — but without a doubt, this was the best service we’ve ever experienced. The team worked together with incredible synergy, and the wine pairing to each dish on the set menu was absolutely spot on. Every course delivered a combination of flavours unlike anything we’ve ever tasted. This is genuinely one of the highlights of all our restaurant experiences, and we will definitely be back. Once again, the team — just exceptional. And the setting, overlooking Hobart Harbour, was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night.
Trent A — Google review
From the moment we settled into our seats at the kitchen bar at Maria, the evening felt special. Right in front of us, the chefs moved with quiet precision and constant energy — chopping, stirring, plating — never stopping for a moment. Watching them work made us appreciate the dedication and stamina it takes to create each dish. Every plate that arrived was a delight, with flavours so well-balanced that each course seemed to flow naturally into the next. My main, the Top Hill mushrooms, was rich and satisfying — perhaps a little too generous for me to finish, but my husband was happy to help. The meal ended on a beautifully light note: Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts. Simple yet exquisite, it was the kind of dessert that lingers in your memory. When I asked the chef how they kept the yogurt from being sour, he revealed the secret — mixing it with cream, like panna cotta. Maria isn’t just a place to eat in Hobart; it’s an experience worth savouring.

A really special dining experience with friends, in a beautiful location. We had the set menu, and everything was delicious - clearly a lot of thought put into beautiful ingredients, taste and texture. Raph was our primary server and was delightful, very knowledgeable with fab recommendations for our drinks - we loved all the service staff really! It was high end, but friendly and unpretentious. Thank you for a fantastic time!

I would give this restaurant 500 out of 5 if I could. This is up there with the best European restaurants I’ve been to and the flavours are unbelievable. The wine pairing is perfect, and full glasses! The tarama, sardine and scotch fillet were stand outs. The venue and service is flawless. Our waitress Molly was exceptional and made the experience fantastic. It’s expensive for Hobart, but it’s cheap compared to the quality of the food. Just perfection.

Fast food restaurant
Flippers Cooked Seafood is a popular floating fish punt located on Constitution Wharf in Hobart. It offers a variety of seafood options, including fish and chips, calamari, scallops, and more. The restaurant provides a picturesque view of the bustling harbor. Known for its generous seafood combos at affordable prices, Flippers is a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike.
There's nothing better than sitting by the harbor ☺️ enjoying fish and chips while the cool weather and warm sun create the perfect ambiance for your meal 🤩 I might be exaggerating a bit but if you have some time to spare or are visiting Hobart for the first time, I think it's a great experience 😉 The fish is fresh and delicious with a wide variety of options to suit your taste. Overall, I was very impressed 💕

It’d be nice to enjoy the food on the bench. Lucky that Tassie sea gulls are still friendly to visitors. Remember to add your own salt when picking up your fish. Fish is fresh, crab stick, scallop, squid are around average. Personally I also enjoy fish n chips with some sauces.

My stroll led me directly to the vibrant food area around Constitution Dock, where a variety of food boats offered everything from classic fish and chips to fried chicken, burgers, and even gelato. With so many delicious options, I decided on a late lunch at Flippers. The friendly blokes working there recommended the Trevalla with Chips, and it was an absolute winner! They even offered a choice of seasoned salt, chicken salt, or salt and vinegar for extra flavour, a nice touch. It's a must-try while you're in Tasmania, as Trevalla or Flathead are the local stars, unlike the more common Barramundi, Flake, or Grenadier often served in Sydney and Melbourne. I enjoyed my meal right by the docks, where there's plenty of seating, and, of course, the ever-present seagulls hoping for a crumb!

ordered a combo with prawn chips flake and so on. They gave me four pieces of other fried fish instead. When I first checked, the young blonde girl insisted that was correct😅 Only after I took the review photo to question her again did they replace it with the proper combo — which was already cooked sitting there!! With a rude, impatient attitude and no apology at all.🤗 Felt very dismissive and discriminatory. Extremely disappointing experience.😅don’t want to assume anything, but I was being treated differently — possibly because of my race

Our stroll around the docks led us to the area with boats as restaurants, we went with what the locals were going with and it was fantastic! My husband had the trevalla and chips, I had the calamari and chips, both were absolutely delicious. The servings were fantastic, even my picky 3 year old enjoyed some of my calamari. The area had plenty of seating that we used while we ate our meals. Some of the best fish we've had in Tassie.

Plain old fish n chips never tasted so good, battered or crumbed, delicious. There is usually a wait, but it's worth it, even standing in the cold, or you can sit in your car, the car park's right on the Wharf! The container is always overflowing so you certainly get your moneys worth.

Restaurant
Located in Salamanca Square, SUZIE LUCK'S Asian Inspired Restaurant & Bar offers a Southeast Asian menu that will tantalize your taste buds. The inventive cocktails are as delightful to look at as they are to drink, and the diverse food options cater to various dietary restrictions while offering unique flavor combinations. The restaurant's quirky design, featuring a vibrant color palette and whimsical decor, adds to its charm.
A visit to Hobart, and the flight was delayed. Checked in, not feeling awesome being late, came to the door no booking and of course they had a table for us. So happy. The service was terrific. From when we arrived to the food, everything. The food.. freshly sucks Bruny oysters.. omg. Then the kingfish sashimi, delicious and with a kick! But the standout meal, Wagyu tartar. I assured my wife it's not my favourite, but was I wrong. Absolutely amazing. If you're in Hobart, worth the visit!

- Efficient friendly service - Standard price for a fusion restaurant. - The Steak & Frites are so juicy and tender. The sauce pairs so well with the steak as well - Beef Panang is sooooo flavorful. The meat is tender without crumbling just how Beef Panang is supposed to be. The Panang sauce goes so well with their rice without being too thick and creamy. - Chicken & Coriander dumplings is a must order. The skin of the dumplings are not too thick and you can taste the “crunchiness” of the chicken - Beef Tartare is also juicy and so delicious. - Pad Thai is usually tricky because some places made it too sour, while others made it too sweet. The one we had was a perfect balance of both. - I don’t know what to say except that all our orders had no miss at all

Tried the market fish (changes daily) and wow — it was spot on. Crispy skin, super fresh, sitting on this creamy coconut curry sauce with just the right kick of spice. The herbs, chili and fried shallots on top made every bite pop with flavour. Served with a bowl of fluffy rice, it felt like comfort food but with a little fancy twist. Great price for the quality too — definitely one of those places you don’t want to miss in Salamanca. I’ll be back for sure! 🙌🐟✨

We have dined at here a few times since we have been in Hobart and every time it has never disappointed!!! The cocktails are absolutely divine and the food is delicious…. amazing place to eat!

It was our first visit. The food was delicious, but the experience was disappointing due to poor communication. We were three people — my son is 13 (underage) and my husband was driving, so I was the only one drinking. Both of us had already had one drink, and a friendly female server asked if I wanted another. I said yes and asked for her recommendation, then simply followed it. I ordered one cocktail, but it was served in a large carafe with three glasses, and no one explained that it would be charged as multiple drinks. We ended up paying $297.74. Of course, we should have checked the receipt more carefully — a lesson learned — but in this situation, staff really should have double-checked before serving something that would significantly increase the bill. Because of this, I don’t think we’d return.

A delicious experience! We had a fantastic meal here. The staff were friendly, knew the menu well and were quick. The food was superb - big spring rolls, chunky chicken satay sticks, a Penang beef wagyu curry (super tender) and their special Fried Rice, for 2 people. The restaurant was busy and had a great vibe. The drinks list is extensive too! I would definitely recommend this restaurant, but book ahead if you can. We were a 'walk-in' but they were able to accommodate us. Thanks for a great dinner experience and we'll be back when we are next in Hobart.

My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous mid week lunch. The staff present that ideal balance of friendliness, efficiency, knowledge of the menu and unobtrusiveness. The food is impeccable! Full of flavours in the right balance, textures and presentation. Both ‘Little bit’ and ‘Bigger’ are generous servings. Regardless of selection, the food is outstanding! Thoroughly recommended.

Penang curry and mango sticky rice. The beef curry was very tender and packed full of flavour. The portion size was very generous. I must say the mango sticky rice is a stand out, salted caramel coconut - you can’t really beat it. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was outstanding. Friendly staff, great food - don’t skip this place while you’re in Hobart.

A beautiful glass house that floats atop the Derwent River at the end of Franklin Wharf is a hotspot for food and drink in Hobart. With stunning views of Sullivan's Cove and the River, The Glass House is a must-go for visitors to Hobart. The food is top notch, ranging from delicate kingfish carpaccio to wild clover lamb tartare with lovage, gentleman's relish, and beetroot.
We had a fantastic lunch here! The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived, very attentive, friendly and helpful. They were happy to answer questions about the menu and offer suggestions if required. It was also lovely that our water glasses were topped up regularly without having to ask. We loved our meals. The food was delicious and fresh and nicely presented. The chairs were very comfortable and we were seated right next to the wonderful big windows looking out over the water. It was a lovely place to sit and they were happy for us to sit and chat after our meal, we definitely weren't rushed out! There are two unisex accessible bathrooms, with grab rails that drop down on both sides of the toilet as required, which was great.

It was my 60’s birthday! My wifie treated me to a trip to Hobart. We looked at places to celebrate online and intuitively picked Glasshouse. What a blast. The Hobart harbour looked sensational at sunset and the warm welcome at the restaurant made us feel ready for an exceptional gustatory experience. The degustation menu could be adjusted to pescatarians and was just simply out of here. So good indeed. The staff was amazing. Although we had to tame the “big boss” .. No we didn’t , he was more than Ok! A very memorable 60th birthday celebration! XO

$85 feed me menu is a lot of food! But well worth it for the diverse range, produce was fresh and presentations was interesting. Everything from morowong sashimi to a pork schnitzel and spetzal took my taste buds on a journey. Staff were friendly and attentive and ambience is nice surrounded by the Hobart waterfront.

Beautiful venue on the water. Well spaced tables with luxurious comfy chairs. One can have a drink and bar snacks during the day / evening but we were there for lunch. We had a cauliflower dish which looked impressive but was a bit raw. Hard to cut which made it difficult to share. The beetroot salad was superb, as was the chicken liver parfait. The waiter was lovely and friendly which made it even more special. We watched the Mona ferry depart and arrive a couple of times plus the seaplane. July 2023 - I've visited a second time and it was just as good. They now have a special of pot pie on the lunch menu. We had arancini, beetroot salad and bao with a fish cake. Dolphins were larking about in the water near the restaurant.

Excellent location with unobstructed harbour views from the main dining area. Very good service, and quite creative cuisine Their stracciatella heirloom tomatoes were amazing perfectly ripe and sweet with Parmesan pangritata for some crunch, for me they were the highlights of the meal. The eye fillet was melt in the mouth tender, roast cauli a large serve with nice savoury miso enhancing the browning of it, was about half a cauliflower. Dessert (the lime one) was just as creative as the rest of the meal with none of the components overly sweet, perfectly refreshing after a big meal. They have a happy hour also which I notice included $12 cocktails and deals on beer, would be a great place to hang out and have some early evening drinks.

Came here for a dinner with my wife on our honeymoon. Was recommended by a Hobart local and it certainly did not disappoint. Firstly, the service. Our table was waited on by a woman named Dola. Every tiny attention to detail was perfectly managed and attended to by her. She was polite, discreet, gave sound advice and overall just made the night an unforgettable experience. The food and drinks were also equally commendable. We opted for the “feed me” option and it was a perfect choice. The variety of the dishes and flavor profiles were an absolute joy to eat. The cocktails were of a high caliber. I would thoroughly recommend this bar/restaurant for any couple visiting Hobart. The views from our table were the icing on the cake for our fantastic night.

My partner and I came here for dinner and opted for the $55 Feed Me option. This included a delicious array of entree dishes, main dishes and desserts, all for great value. The food was all delicious, as were the drinks we ordered (we especially liked the Rhubarb and Ginger G+Ts). We were impressed with the atmosphere and music and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Excellent service, creative food, loved 3 out of the 4 dishes we ate. Sambas squid was a bit too ambitious and ended up just tasting like uncooked turmeric. Great cocktails . Pricy but good for a treat. Can't really see any view after dark. Can be a bit loud because of the square class Box layout .

The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, established in 1818, cover a 14-hectare site on Hobart's waterfront along the River Derwent. It is a popular attraction for families with plenty of trails and green space for kids to enjoy. The gardens feature historic plants, a Japanese garden, an Antarctic plant house, a fuchsia house, a cactus collection, and a traditional herb garden.
Magic and huge gardener! A dream, lot of different plants and flowers. Different part of the globe scenario and amazing, beautiful, perfect care to detail. Lovely to spending some time, take pictures and be grateful for the creator. Thank Jesus! Thank God allowing us to explore such a great place.

I am most impressed with their Japanese Garden, it is so authentic and beautifully done. It made me feel I was back in Japan. The conservatory was most enchanting, it felt like I was in a fairy tale. Such a nice park overall. So many things to see like Subantarctic plant house and pineapple house. Friendly staff/volunteers, very clean and it is just magic to be in there.

Beautiful gardens to walk around and see different plants and garden designs 🌹🌺🌻🪻 It took me about 35 minutes walk from the city central via intercity way to the Botanical garden. I love the Japanese garden and the rose garden, however, it was pouring rain when I visited so all the poor roses seem to be unhappy 🥀😞 I also really enjoyed the Subantarctic plant house which have this cool looking fern with hair on the leaf 🪴🌱 and beautiful mural on the wall! The calming lily pond has a whole family of duck and duckling swimming around welcoming spring! The conservatory is nice and warm and filled with lovely orchids, just lovely to look at!

Wow, was blown away by this. Not many influencers suggested this when looking for things to do in Hobart. It was one of my favourite things. So many beautiful trees and flowers and displays. There was a small coffee van with Apple drinks and delicious cakes. Easy access for anyone. Loved it

Very pretty and well kept gardens. There are lots of informational plaques under each plant to tell you about it. Multiple different scenes/gardens. Lots of places to sit or stop in the shade. Only thing to note is that a majority of the garden is set on a hill, so expect lots of stairs and hills.

Lovely botanical gardens! It has a good little coffee cart inside too. Doesn't take long to walk around the gardens but the range of plants from all round the world and Australia is just amazing! Well worth visiting.

The Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre is a popular spot for families, offering a kids pool and water slides that children love. The facility includes a 50m pool and well-maintained change rooms. While the parking can be challenging during busy times, the friendly staff and overall cleanliness make it a pleasant experience. Despite some minor drawbacks, it remains a great option in Hobart.
The swimming pool is fantastic, offering a great variety of swimming options for all skill levels. Perfect for both beginners and experienced swimmers!

I have been participating in deep water aerobics over the past 4 months and would love to commend Lisa one of the instructors for doing a great job. Lisa is friendly, always happy and all her classes are enjoyable. I always come away feeling refreshed and very satisfied I've had a great work out. Well done Lisa!
Karene M — Google review
Car park is way to small for the size of the facility, and it is also used by workers in Hobart CBD who want free parking. The 25m pool could do with being re-tiled as it is showing its age. The 25m and 50m pools often have lanes booked for school programs, learn to swim, swimming competitions, and water polo competitions which limits access to lanes for casual visitors and members, hence overcrowding, even during off peak periods. On a positive, the change rooms are excellent with plenty of shower and toilet cubicles as well as lockers in the members change rooms. The staff are super friendly and helpful, both lifeguards and at reception. The change rooms are cleaned regularly throughout the day, and lifeguards perform regular welfare checks in both the sauna and change room areas. The facility is also trans friendly so members of the LGBTIQ community should feel comfortable coming to this facility.

So one time i was here and i went into the change rooms and there was NAKED PEOPLE????!?!??! this is DISGRACEFUL and i want this fixed immedialey. Also there werent security cameras in t he changerooms and i felt unsafe. Also there was an old man staring me down the in the change rooms. After that awful experience i went to the slide. There was a sign thAT said "Slide closed" and i was like well i hope so hahahaha, it would be weird if it was open. But the sign was in the way so i just moved it out the way and started sliding. There was no water on the slide what a rip off, i went so slow and i got burns all over my body, probably didnt help that I forgot to put my clothes back on. Oh well. Once I finally go to the end of the slide. I fell in the water. OUCH. Then I remembered I couldnt swim. NOOO "NNOO ONOONO HELP ME HELP ME>" I start sinking. "NOOO NOO NOOO NOO THIS IS WHERE IT ENDS FOR ME!!!" ALl the other kids standing next to me were giving me filthy looks. . "HELELP HELLP IM SWALLOWING WATER NOW BUBBLE BUBLLE SCHCHSMHJS JHELP ELP" and THEN this guy with a ywllow shirt jumped in the pool and started fiddling with me, i was like STOP TOUCHING ME, GET OFF, STRANGER DANGER. Then i remembered what they taught me in school. So i just stood up and left. What a weirdo.

As a spectator grandmother, I witnessed 2 boys (12 and 10) approx. the 10 y being chased by the 12y into the little kids pool. The older boy grabbed the other and pushed his head into the water and held it down. Nobody did anything. I jumped up and tore shreds off him. His reply, "He's my brother. The female life guard did absolutely nothing. Just looked on and stayed put. The action of these boys was dangerous to the little children in the pool and extremely bad behaviour for them to be witnessing. A few minutes later they were running around the large pool on wet surfaces chasing each other. The life guard did nothing again. I approached her and quite strongly made her aware of what she was already aware of. Her answer they are brothers as if that excused their dangerous carry on.She then contacted other high viz people and the presence of more staff was evident. Work place safety would be very interested in such goings on. Especially if one slipped and became a paraplegic or worse. They should have been removed from the centre immediately. This was on Thursday 23rd October 2025, between 10am and 1pm. Susan Hart extremely concerned grandmother.

Great way to spend a couple of hours with the children. But... Not a single price on the drinks fridge. No signage anywhere to tell you what you're paying for each drink. It's a council run facility and should be required

It would have been 5 stars, but after calling to ask about the inflatables earlier in the week we were told they'd be up. Arrived after driving an hour to find they weren't up because they didn't have the staff to man it. 🙄 the slide was open intermittently, and the diving board was open (but a very long line up). Food was okay but not fantastic. Dipping dots were delicious though and the staff were lovely. The kids loved the slide and play area.

Historic Sites
Hobart Convict Penitentiary, located in the heart of Hobart's CBD, is a historic site that offers a glimpse into Tasmania's early period. This 1830 edifice served as a chapel, jail, and court for male convicts and features an execution yard and gallows. Designed by architect John Lee Archer, the Georgian prison building housed around 40,000 male convicts until convict transportation ceased in 1853.
This was a wonderful experience. Our guide Kyle truly was a natural. He provided so much detail and knowledge on Tasmania and the convict history. For me this was a personal experience as I got to learn about my family history. The digital image provided of my 4x grandfather was surreal. Definitely will be back with my family.
Jen — Google review
A really interesting experience, more so thanks to the genuine enthusiasm of our wonderful guide, Brendan. It makes what is a relatively small remnant of the overall Penitentiary really fascinating. Using the name search facility for former convicts unlocks more information about why they came to be there and what eventually happened to them, if known. You can also scan the QR code in the photo. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Hobart.

History feels very real when you can stand inside the small spaces convicts were confined for weeks, sometimes for stealing a loaf of bread. The free tours are fantastic to learn the stories of the convicts and their jailers. There’s also a boat trip included in the ticket which was great.

What an amazing experience, I’m so glad I found it when I was looking for what else I can do to Hobart. A place with the oldest history, you will learn so much about the first convicts, their hard life, you will watch a 20’ movie with a tour guide who will give you all the important details and more! The staff are all volunteers and they do an excellent job, maintaining this place that needs to keep standing! Trust me the ticket worth your time and your visit! Next time I’ll give it a go for the night tour as it looks promising!

Visited the Hobart Convict Penitentiary today and had an absolutely fantastic guided tour with Rodger. His passion and knowledge brought the history to life with vivid details and personal touches that made the experience unforgettable. One of the best tours we’ve ever had! Step into the historic State Cinema in Hobart, a charming independent picture house that has been entertaining Tasmanians for over a century. With its art-deco facade and eight intimate screens, this cinematic gem offers a unique movie experience. The cozy seating and classic architecture transport you to another era, while the rooftop cinema and bar provide an opportunity for outdoor screenings and relaxation. Whether you're catching a new release or enjoying a classic flick, the diverse film selection ensures there's something for every movie lover.
The State is so much better than Art cinemas I've visited in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. The fabulous book shop, good quality wines and/or hot chocolate, film range and the comfortable seats all contribute to a great experience. Those who complain ought to look elsewhere first. So grateful we have the State.
Lisbeth E — Google review
I've always had a soft spot for film houses and when I was in Hobart, I made sure to watch at the State Cinema. There were a lot of independent films being shown here on the daily and I was lucky enough to watch The Eight Mountains. The price was fair for the experience. There were lots of food, coffee, drink options that you can purchase at their cafe and bring in with you. There's also a popular bookstore in the building. Definitely a must try experience when you are in North Hobart :)
Abie R — Google review
I love the State and have been a long time and regular patron but feel the options and quality in the restaurant has dropped significantly, often finding they run out of food or meals during dinner service and if you want a coffee after a movie forget it! They close up way too early! I feel if the cinema is open so should the restaurant for coffees and cake after a movie. It’s not like they go all night! You used to be able to do that…. They even removed the coffee machine from the front, so you can’t grab one from the front either like you used to after a movie. The cinemas are great, but the restaurant and its limited offerings and indifferent staff do not support the establishment as a whole at all. Once upon a time they would have had a 5 star review from me, but my rating seems to be dropping every time I go these days and I am going less often because of it.
Rachael — Google review
This used to be a great cinema. But the Hollywood rubbish they show now is exactly the same as the Village Cinema, though the tickets cost more at the State. And no foreign-language film festivals any more - except the Jewish! It's so sad to realise what Tasmania used to enjoy and has now lost - sold out to US multinationals.
Jo C — Google review
We have been going to this cinema for many years. My family and friends give me gift vouchers for my birthday that I can use to enjoy with friends. It was very sad to go on Saturday and find that I could not use my gift voucher because the “server was down”. I find this quite unacceptable, these tickets have been paid for and I cannot understand why the cinema staff could not charge my gift certificate later and I could then have enjoyed the movie with my friend. My gift vouchers have always been an enjoyable experience in the past. I was bitterly disappointed. Lesley
Lesley W — Google review
Very dissapointed that lately the choice of films is the same as those as the mainstream Village Cinemas and even some limited release films are not offered at all EG the new Deltoro Frankenstein. The cinemas are featureless, the carpet is frayed and dirty, the food in the alleged restaurant is uninspiring and do not get me started on the tizzied up tin of sardines for $19.50. The never ending stream of changing staff do their best. What was once a stylish cinema is now tired and badly in need of a refurbish.
Paulmorris121 — Google review
This is such a beautiful cinema and the staff are a bonus. Very friendly and helpful. Amenities are clean and great bar options.
Anna R — Google review
The best independent cinema in Tasmania. 12 screens of pure entertainment. Movies that you would not be able to see anywhere else are on the big screen. And it feels intimate as some of the screens only hold a few people. When the roof top cinema opens, it is a magical place to be. What is better than watching the movies under the stars? Watching the movies under the stars but protected from the elements in a glass walled cinema. Brilliant.

Born In Brunswick is a trendy cafe located in North Hobart, offering a refreshing break from the bustling crowds of Sydney Road. The cafe boasts sleek Nordic-inspired interiors and serves up serious single-origin coffee alongside an array of exquisite dishes with Asian and international influences.
Beautifully lit room with lots of natural lighting . Lots of seats available but we were lucky we got a table for our party of 8 without a booking. Very interesting menu with Tasmanian produce featured. They octopus and nduja scrambled eggs were amazing, uniquely Tassie! Wished we'd known about this place sooner so we could try more items on the menu. Coffee were good too! They might be short on staff as we waited for coffee for a while.

Had a lovely brunch at Born in Brunswick! The corn & kale fritters were packed with flavor and perfectly balanced, and the French toast was an absolute standout, rich, indulgent, and beautifully plated. The vibe of the place is relaxed and inviting, with a great atmosphere for a slow morning meal. The only thing that threw me off a bit was not being able to tell who was waitressing, there didn’t seem to be a uniform or dress code, so I wasn’t sure who to ask when I needed something, I asked someone for water and was totally mistaken, so embarrassing. Otherwise, a fantastic experience. Will definitely be back!
Jerriemhay M — Google review
Quite a good breakfast place in the area. The atmosphere is perfect for the type of food. Service is quite good too. Fried chicken burger is great. Slaw cuts the heat quite well. Would love an option to add hot chippies. Truffle croque madame is nice too, but I think it’s just truffle oil than real truffle which is fair enough for the price. Tiramisu French toast is quite ok. Toast is crunchy on the outside but still soft. Can’t taste much coffee which is weird since it’s overflowing a bit. Sweetness will vary on your tolerance. Overall, recommended for breakfast!

Lots of seating and they gave us a nice quiet spot to have our lunch. Not an extensive menu, mostly brunch. From our seats we could watch the kitchen prepare our meals. We both enjoyed our lunch and coffee. If you're in the neighbourhood give it a try.

Friendly and great service, delicious and beautifully plated food, relaxed atmosphere. ordered corn fritters, octopus and iced chocolate. Our meals were delicious and was by far the best iced chocolate I've ever tasted! Would definitely recommend this spot!

Came highly recommended and did not disappoint! A lovely atmosphere and welcoming feel! I ordered the avo on toast with a side of chorizo, which turned out to be completely unnecessary as the avo on toast was amazing on its own! My partner had the octopus scrambled eggs and it was equally as delicious! Was incredibly busy when we arrived, but we got a table after a short wait.

Born in Brunswick – North Hobart Born in Brunswick is a standout café with a relaxed open-plan layout that gives you a glimpse into the bustling kitchen. There are various seating options, including cosy window seats perfect for watching the world go by. The menu is superb, beautifully presented, high-end food without the hefty price tag. And the coffee? Easily rivals the best of the best. A must-visit if you’re in Hobart! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sonia B — Google review
I recently visited Born in Brunswick with a friend, and while the café had a lovely environment with a modern and cozy ambiance, the service left much to be desired. The staff didn’t seem very welcoming, which slightly dampened the experience. For my meal, I ordered the baked eggs, which I had heard great reviews about. However, I personally found them too tangy for my taste and didn’t enjoy them as much as I had hoped. On the other hand, my friend had the avocado toast, which was well-prepared and delicious. The highlight of my visit was the coffee—it was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, my friend ordered a chai, which she could barely drink. Overall, my experience at Born in Brunswick was mixed. The café itself has a great atmosphere, and the coffee is excellent, but the food was hit or miss, and the service could be friendlier. I might return for the coffee and ambiance, but I’d hope for a more welcoming experience next time.

Dumpling restaurant
Dumpling World is a Chinese restaurant located in North Hobart, offering a diverse selection of delicious dim sum. The homemade dim sum is particularly noteworthy, providing a healthy and satisfying dining experience. Visitors to Hobart can explore the nearby area and enjoy the various Chinese dining options available. The restaurant offers reasonably priced meals with generous portions, including favorites like chicken and corn soup and sizzling black pepper chicken with rice.
We love the egg fried rice and the BBQ pork fried rice from Dumpling World! We buy them regularly — they’re always delicious, filling, and great value for money. A wholesome, satisfying meal every time. Highly recommended!

Ate here a few times and was satisfied with the food and serving size for the price. Had rice, noodles, and chicken for the meals I had. It’s quick, cheap and most importantly it’s open late at night when no other restaurants are open in Hobart. My go-to food in the evenings at times. Just next door to Woolies
Tristan M — Google review
Good value meals. The seafood laksa and sizzling pepper beef were tasty. However, the dim sims were small.

Dreadful. Ordered the tofu stir fry, it turned out to be oil soup. Little veggies and little tofu. it smelt weird and tasted of burnt oil. I had to strain the bottom bit through a sieve to try and remove some of the oil - it was dripping in it (see photo). Only ate it because it was late and I was starving. Partners lemon chicken was soggy and tasteless. Shudder, never again
Helen O — Google review
Tasty food with some good vegetarian options. A nice spot for a quick, cheap meal or takeaway.

Kung Pao chicken’s too salty. Chicken and corn soup was amazing, tho. However, a really good price overall, super cheap with huge portions as well, so can’t complain!

Came here for an early dinner and placed in an order for Wonton Noodles Soup, Singapore Noodles, Pork Boiled Dumplings, Potato Prawns, and Crispy Prawn Dumplings. We sat down, and the male at the cashier instructed us to take the menu and sit anywhere. I was taken aback by the seating area. It felt dirty, and there was a smell when we sat down. I went to order, and the guy taking the order was quite rude and kept interrupting me when I was trying to order. The food, on the other hand, was a bit better. The boiled dumplings were delicious, and so were the potato prawns and crisp Prawn Dumpling. Whereas the Wonton noodle soup was a big disappointment. I originally wanted the Beef Noodle Soup, but they didn't have it, and so I ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup. The noodles were ok, and the Wonton tasted a little like durian for some reason. The Singapore Noodles were alright as well, not much taste to it besides the spiciness. Overall, the price for all of it was on the lower side. Food was alright, but the place was a little dirty for me, and the server was a little rude.

Is this traditional pan fried dumpling? cuz I had been to many Chinese restaurants and everywhere it was same but this one. It wasn’t bad though. Food was average, good dine in space & average service. Overall, it was an ‘ok’ experience.

Franklin Bar & Restaurant is a trendy industrial-style establishment with a sleek, minimalist design that serves locally-sourced seasonal dishes. Visitors have raved about the impeccable service and delectable 8 or 9-course banquet, accompanied by exquisite cocktails. The wait staff are described as friendly and efficient, ensuring prompt delivery of each course while allowing for ample time to savor the experience.
The food and service was immaculate. We experienced the 8 (or 9) course banquet that was faultless. It was impossible to pick a favourite dish and the accompanying cocktails were exquisite. Our wait staff were friendly, efficient and very affable. Our food arrived quickly each time but with sufficient rest periods in between. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Tasmania. Looking forward to going again

Unexpectedly impressed by this restaurant - was not disappointed by a single dish. The proteins in particular were excellent. The quail and lamb were some of the best I've had. Very reasonably priced for food at this calibre. Great local wines and craft beers too. Not to be missed in Hobart.
Michael C — Google review
I had a fantastic dinner experience here about a month ago. I went with the "feed me" option - you'll get about nine or ten dishes in total (including desserts). Great food and awesome service. The industrial decor looks great too. I would definitely come back for more. Highly recommended.
Nizar N — Google review
What an awesome experience. A warm welcome set the tone right for the evening. Then a delicious twist on the martini got us settled. The menu is a bit different and uses some great local produce including abalone! We started with some in house bread and then had a scotch quail egg (with gooey centre), abalone skewers and some salami with (I think) Russian mustard. Then we had probably the most perfect dish I've had for a while. Wood smoked octopus served with wild herbs and currants. The octopus was perfectly cooked with a crunchy texture (cooked without being rubbery like it usually gets served) and the smoking was delicate and slowly built on the palate without ever getting overwhelming. We would go back for this dish alone! We then finished up mains with a delicately cooked lamb belly in whey brine which came with a mix of natural flowers and leaves ranging from a parsley type flavour to aniseed. This restaurant is in Hobart CBD so there's really no excuse not to visit this spot for an amazing culinary experience with excellent backup from the staff on the floor.

I really enjoyed dining at Franklin The food was excellent and the menu was innovative Looking at some of the other dishes in the review section, I am very glad we got the set menu we did which was more fish focussed. We did not like the vegetable in fish stew The staff were attentive but not very warm. The wine was a good selection and the bottle we shared was lovely

Overall it’s very disappointed, no matter how good their food is.... It was our anniversary dinner, my husband had sent an email to the restaurant requesting for putting the wordings on the dessert but no response from them. Then once we arrived, we asked the white shirt waitress to help us reconfirming but she has never got back to us.... We tried their “feed me” option - AUS$180 for two persons, to be honest, it’s a bit overpriced, I was expecting more with this price... Food was nice in general and I like the chicken the most. To be honest, although I like the chicken a lot but I won’t come back again. Not good dining experience... There are more choices here, why would I come back to this again with such a “good” service and “good” price ? I am sure there are more to choose with this price. Also they just wanted to push you away once you have done your meal!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
Anna L — Google review
Franklin is situated in this large warehouse type building within the Hobart CBD. The high ceilings and the overall space of the place makes it very spacious. We ordered a number of dishes rather than going with the 9 courses "feed me" selection because we were not that hungry. Some dishes like the chicken liver and raw morwong are a hit but some others are a miss like the asparagus and the beef. They are lacking flavour for the price we are paying. Food - 7 Service - 7 Vibe - 9 Price - $$$

Another highly praised restaurant which we checked out in Tasmania was Franklin restaurant in Hobart. We had booked for a late meal at the end of a busy day seeing the sights. The restaurants has large glass windows which are very visible from the street. The restaurant interior is paired back with concrete and industrial fittings, providing clean visual features. The open kitchen and bar provide the ability to watch what is going on. It is a busy restaurant but the staff are attentive. The ambience is buzzing and this makes for a great dining atmosphere. The drinks list includes craft beer, interesting wine options, including natural wine and there's also a mix of cocktails and craft spirits. The menu has a number of inviting options and was headed up with some exciting small bites. A must eat item is the scotch quail eggs. This tasty morsel has a crisp outer crust, a tasty mid layer of sobrasada and the yolk of the quail egg oozing out once cut into. The octopus and salt bush dumplings may not be the most appealing looking bite, however this was made up for by the texture and flavour. We were also provided some amazing complimentary bread. The mushroom dish was full of umami from the braised wakame and egg yolk sabayan. This was the tasiest dish of the evening. With the oyster mushrooms providing a meaty texture. Potatoes are certainly abundant in Hobart and were well put to use in the potato galette with an emulsion of huacatay, a Peruvian herb sourced locally on the tasman coast. This accompanied the main source of protein we ordered, the woodroasted littlewood lamb, served with braised almonds and pickled kohlrabi. This dish was very simple looking on the plate, however the flavour of the lamb was incredible and the almonds provided texture and the pickled kohlrabi cut through the richness of the lamb. Franklin is great place to enjoy a meal in Tasmania to savour some local produce and wash ot down with a quality drinks list.

My first Doner kebab! Food Quality ✅ Value ✅ Meat Quality- Well cooked ✅ Preparation 10/10 Customer service 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Negative feedback : N/A Overall review : The customer service was fantastic! the lamb in the kebab was nicely well cooked. The sauce was fantastic it blends well with the lettuce tomato & onion making the flavours combine perfectly. The preparation was done fantastically , carefully wrapped in foil . The flatbread quality was great . The kebab was delicious and filling!. As this is my first proper kebab ( non skewered kebab ) it definitely met my high expectations. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place!.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would! Such a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food~ even when swamped they're incredibly friendly; I could hear the manager encouraging the workers during the busy times and it was so refreshing. If you're looking for late night eats, skip the Macca's and support this business! Reasonably priced too 😊

I ordered through uber eats last night, I’m trying to get a refund through them. The food was very disappointing to say the least, we paid $10 for chicken wings and only got 2, we also asked for only lettuce and cheese to be in one, and no lettuce in the other. This was not followed. The bread used was wrong, it wasn’t toasted and they ignored our order instructions. Will not be ordering from here again. What a waste of money.

I’d rate this HSP one star. If you’re giving it five, you really need to try Kabul Kebab or even Liverpool Kebab—they’re way better. The taste is just bad, and everything from the chicken to the fries is soggy. 😢

Beer garden
Cascade Brewery Bar is a historic brewery bar and gardens that has been operating since 1824, making it Australia's oldest brewery. The site offers daily one-hour tours with tastings at the end, providing plenty of history about the brewery. Families can opt for the family-friendly Beer School tour as under-16s are not permitted on the main brewery tour. While visiting, guests can enjoy sampling beers in a picturesque setting with stunning views and European-style architecture.
Such a beautiful spot to spend a few hours. The heritage brewery has so much history, and the views of Mt Wellington in the background are incredible. The gardens are well kept and make the whole place feel really peaceful. The beers are great too — lots of variety and really well made. Whether you’re here for a tasting, a tour, or just to relax with a drink in the sunshine, it’s a place that’s easy to recommend.
Kenan M — Google review
Cascade Brewery is definitely worth a visit for any beer lover. The historic setting is absolutely stunning — nestled at the base of Mt. Wellington, the grounds and heritage building offer a truly unique atmosphere. The beer? Excellent. You can really taste the craftsmanship in every pour, especially if you enjoy classic styles done right. The ambience overall is very pleasant — relaxed, scenic, and perfect for an afternoon out. However, the staff interaction left a bit to be desired. While they were efficient and polite, they didn’t seem particularly keen to engage or offer much beyond the basics. It felt a bit transactional, which was a shame given how welcoming the rest of the experience was. Still, if you're after great beer in a beautiful setting, Cascade delivers. Just don’t expect a chatty or overly friendly service experience.
Vlad H — Google review
This place is popular for good reason. Book in advance. Theres plenty of beers from various breweries and the food was really good but the portions a bit on the small size for the price. The parma was only average and I would skip it as it was a bit tough. Smash burger was awesome. And the Brisket was a highlight.
Martin M — Google review
The last time I was here I did the tour (highly recommend it) but thus time around was strictly for business. Strictly for dining only. It was a lovely sunny day so eating outside among the scenic established garden was the order of the day. You'll find plenty of tables outside, but if it's busy and no tables are avaible you could simply sit on the grassy areas and treat it like a picnic. If outside dining isn't your thing then there are tables inside too. Staff were friendly on arrival and I chose the burger and chips for lunch with a pint Mercury Cider. It all came to about $40. The burger was delicious and the chips made too perfection though a few more added would have been appreciated but definitely not a deal breaker. Overall it's a delightful experience, especially on a nice warm day and surrounded by those awesome gardens. I wont wait so long for the next meal.

Cascades Female Factory Historic Site is a 19th-century workhouse that once housed around 12,500 female convicts in Tasmania. It held more convicts than Port Arthur at its peak. Visitors can explore the site's yards and interpretive installations independently or join guided tours and dramatizations like the Her Story tour. The location is near Cascade Brewery, Hobart rivulet trail, and Mount Wellington, making it a convenient stop for tourists.
Much in little. Fascinating guided tour of this female prison. Our guide Marcel was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable engaging us with the tales of some on the women who came to reside here. Although not much of the original structure remains, the guided tour gave us a visualisation of the era, people and conditions. An important record of history

Just an amazing and harrowing story. A beautiful and minimalist reconstruction of an important part of Australian history. My daughter and I took the 1130 Notorious Strumpets & Dangerous Girls tour - fantastic experience. Our guide was Marcelle and she brought seven women to life for us, I can’t thank her enough. Thoroughly recommend this to everyone.
Nathan B — Google review
We were on a little ride to the Cascade brewery and past through here on the way so decided to stopped for a visit. Booked in for the 2 pm Notorious Strumpets & Dangerous Girls tour which took about 75 minutes. The place is mostly walls and outline on the floor left, with one cottage in the corner of Yard 3&4 where our tour took place. The tour staff, Mark, was very good at story telling and make great impressions which made it fun to listen to the stories. However I'm just not the type to like sitting around for almost an hour so I didnt enjoyed that. The story of how woman in general used to be treated in the past and how much they were not allow to do just very depressing and sad! I think the self guided tour with audio I can play from my phone would have been much more enjoyable for me so I can walk around while listening to the stories. I also really enjoyed reading the stories of different woman who was here on a little plated cards scattered around the place. Overall a place full of important histories!

This place is an absolute must if you are in Hobart. I have a thing for old gaols and asylums (weird I know) and this is the first one anywhere in the world that made me cry. Definitely do the tour the guise is amazing and very informative. If you are like me, you will leave there with a sense you have to learn more about the women that spend time there so important we learn and tell their stories. Such a sad past such a beautiful tribute to them.
Donna D — Google review
There is no doubt that the history of the Cascades Female Factory is tragic and deeply affecting. Learning about the lives of the female prisoners and the children born in confinement is truly heartbreaking. Their suffering, resilience, and the harsh realities they endured left a lasting impression on me. I had studied their stories before visiting, hoping to connect with the actual site where so much hardship occurred. Unfortunately, as a visitor, I was extremely disappointed. There is no clear guidance, signage, or explanation of what to expect, and when you arrive, you are essentially faced with four plain walls and a few brick outlines on the ground. The site relies entirely on your IMAGINATION to visualise the scale, structure, and conditions of the prison. There is no way to experience the environment or feel the atmosphere of the place without prior research. The ticket staff were correct in recommending a guided tour. Without it, there is almost nothing to see. Even with the tour, the main “site” consists of a vacant area, where the guide shows an A3 sheet drawing of the original prison layout. You are standing on empty land while listening to the stories, and although the narratives are compelling, the physical experience is underwhelming. I had expected to see at least one preserved room, wall, or structure, which could convey the isolation and harsh conditions these women endured. Instead, it felt like $37 was being paid to simply listen and imagine. The site could have been vastly improved with informative signage, preserved rooms, or interactive displays. The lack of tangible elements makes it hard to emotionally connect with the history, despite its importance. If you have a VIVID IMAGINATION, the visit may offer some understanding, but for most visitors, reading their stories online provides far more insight and emotional impact. In short, while the Cascades Female Factory is historically significant, the visitor experience is severely lacking, leaving much to be desired. It is a place that touches your heart in concept, but fails to deliver in practice.
Alvin K — Google review
A must visit cultural attraction. Because there is very little physical evidence left, it's best to take the short guided tour. Our guide was brilliant. She conveyed the terrible reality of life in this place with humour and respect. The facility is modern, clean and informative. The shop has a plethora of great feminist writing, both new and old. Take your time and absorb.
Harry S — Google review
Having lived in Hobart for an extended period I decided that it was time to do The notorious Strumpet tour today. OMG it did not disappoint. The fantastic storytelling of the lives of seven convict women transported to Van Diemans land made me proud of my own convict heritage. These defiant, strong and myriad characters and voices bought to life. I cried, I laughed and got goosebumps with the tales of such Bravery and loss. The stories were told with such pure and genuine passion that I hung on every word. Couldn’t recommend this experience highly enough. A must see tour for all!

Farmers Markets
Farm Gate Market is a lively and bustling Sunday market located in central Hobart, Tasmania. It offers an abundance of fresh, locally sourced produce including seasonal fruits and vegetables, artisanal cheeses, homemade breads and pastas, free-range meats and eggs, freshly caught oysters, and handcrafted gins from local distilleries. The market also features a variety of vendors selling pickles, relishes, jams as well as breakfast and lunch options such as oversized cookies and gourmet toasties.
I was thoroughly impressed by the remarkable diversity, uniqueness, and exceptional quality of the food at this farmer's market. The sellers are not only friendly but also deeply knowledgeable, showcasing genuine pride in their produce. It's a delightful and rewarding way to spend your Sunday mornings—highly recommended!

Lovely little street with lots of fresh produce. Some similar shops to Salamanca market the day before, but mostly different and still nicely varied. Worth a quick visit to get breakfast or some quick bites!

It was a lovely experience in the middle of the Hobart city. A busy street has turned in to a local market with home made products and foods from different cultures. It is not massive as Salamanca market, but full of organic products. Had some delicious foods and brought some home grown vegetables😍

Open every Sunday morning!! Similar to Salamanca Market but a little bit smaller and sill rich in different vendors tho 👍🏻
Jing Y — Google review
As a resident of Hobart that goes there nearly every Sunday this is the market where locals go for a Sunday bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, maybe snack, coffee or to get the latest boutique drink. Its premise is that all stalls have only local Tasmanian produce do there are no souvenirs. And it certainly lives up to being one, if note the best place in Hobart for that. It is the place where Hobartians cross paths and enjoy local produce, even on cold winter Sunday mornings, of that is something you want to do then this is the place to come.

First time went to this market, it was very good everything engaged me a lot, all fresh things and nice things. I had tried a small fresh milk and some snacks, I don't know what the name was but it was very delicious. And the interesting thing was the birds, I got poop from them, how lucky I am. Recommended this place for anyone who visit Hobart on weekends

Farm Gate Market in Hobart is a charming spot for a Sunday morning. While it’s a smaller market, it offers a great variety of fresh farming products like fruits, veggies, cheese, seafood, and meat. The yogurt and cheese store was especially nice! They also have a mix of food stalls serving Asian and Aussie food, which adds a bit of variety to the experience. It’s a cozy market, perfect for a little wandering around the city. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Hobart on a Sunday!

The Cat & Fiddle Arcade in Hobart is a long-standing venue offering contemporary retailers, restaurants, and various stores like Myer and Target. Visitors can enjoy window shopping in air-conditioned comfort and watch the animated musical clock that plays the "Cat and Fiddle" song with charming characters every hour. The arcade also features a variety of shops including a bookshop, coffee shops, and restaurants, making it an ideal place for quick breakfasts or lunches.
I had been looking at particular carry bag for fishing. No luck anywhere on the mainland but found at this great store. Staff are extremely helpful. Large range of outdoor clothing and accessories.

Lovely little Arcade, plenty of shops and definitely something for everyone! With everything from your local telstra shop to bookshops. Got to experience the added bonus, every hour the Cat and Fiddle song plays. Definitely added something special to this shopping centre.

The Cat and Fiddle Arcade is the main attraction of the beautiful Hobart CBD. Fully renovated and plenty of shops for everyone in one spot. Best part is the fairytale clock that chimes the Cat and Fiddle song every hour.

Nice vibe. Pretty much everything is available in the arcade. Don't miss the hourly cat musical play inside the building.

Still the same Cat and Fiddle arcade. Not much has changed in the 6 years since my last visit. Plenty of shops to get what you need. Make sure you get the on the hour to watch the clock.

Terrible accessiblility for people with babies. You need to call to use the parents room. And the feeding chair is a small uncomfortable chair next to a toilet...

Dier Makr, located in the bustling heart of Hobart's CBD, is a transformative force in bistro dining. While not strictly a seafood restaurant, it offers exceptional seafood-focused dishes that are meticulously crafted and constantly changing based on seasonal availability. The menu showcases innovative creations such as albacore with eggplant escabeche and La Ratte potato, poached Southern Rock lobster with oysters and apple emulsion, and delicately smoked rainbow trout sourced from Cradle Mountain.
Second time I have had the pleasure of eating here. The service and food was impeccable. The wine pairing was spot on and we couldn’t have been happier. A night with great food, awesome service, fantastic organic wine and the best music on vinyl. We will be back.

Bookmarked this place and had very high expectations due to the excellent reviews. However, the food was overrated and not worth the price. Some of the dishes were plain weird, like the mussels with baby corn. It did not match at all. Alot of the dishes were also very salty. Portions are small as well. This was also the only restaurant during our whole trip to show us the tipping screen (on the credit card machine), making me feel obliged to tip them on top of the already expensive (for the food quality and amount) meal. Just to be clear, this is not our first fine dining meal. But it certainly is one of the rare few times we walk away feeling scammed by the good reviews.

10/10 on all fronts. We like to treat ourselves to a nice dinner when we travel and Dier Makr fit the bill for this quick getaway. We opted for the additional wine pairing and it did NOT disappoint. Excellent service from both Dier Makr and next door’s Lucinda from the moment we arrived (too early); beautiful decor and the food. My goodness, the food!!! Starting with a series of ‘snacks’, our degustational journey took us on a trip through Tasmania and every course exceeded the one prior. We booked seats at the kitchen bench and were able to watch the chefs prepare everything in front of us, which was immensely satisfying and interesting to watch. The staff were knowledgeable and engaging, and the kitchen space was so clean, tidy and organised, my type A brain enjoyed every second of the experience. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in town, such a special place and one we will be returning to on our next visit. Thank you!!!

Our favourite dining experience in Hobart. All team members were friendly and made it fun. Food was divine, showcasing local Tassie produce in a very modern and restrained way. (If you’re from Sydney and are into cosy wine bars like Bar Copains, Jane and Ante, this is the one for you!)

Amazing atmosphere, engaging team and endless flavor creations that never seem to stop coming! Highly recommend you try this, they were very accommodating to come up with vegetarian options (ensure you request in advance…or else). Some options felt a little lacking compared to the non-veg alternative however one dish created from scratch was the highlight of the trip and lifted the entire experience.

The service was very friendly, professional and nice! Didn't bombard for tips at the end. The food - some was delicious some was quite salty, but I guess it's because of the sauce. My partner liked the food, I didn't enjoy them as much. They do have quite an extensive wine and beverage list though.

First night in Hobart and did not disappoint. The menu started with a delicious tasting plate and only got better with each dish. All dishes were 5 star, the highlight was the beef tartare with mushroom, and the strawberry pepper dessert. Love the paddock to plate organic philosophy. The staff and chefs were all so hospitable and knowledgeable with the menu and products sourced. We went without matching wines and their by the glass selection is fantastic.
Aaron B — Google review
This restaurant is an absolute must if you’re visiting Tasmania—you can’t miss it. I opted for the pescatarian menu, and every single dish was outstanding. In fact, I found their pescatarian offerings even more special than what a meat-based menu might have been bc they use very unique seafood sourced from Tasmania. My favorite was the mushroom dish—the sauce had an incredible depth of umami, perfectly complemented by the salty potato bread. It was simply delicious. Beyond the food, the overall experience was fantastic. The vibe is effortlessly cool, and the pricing is very reasonable. The staff are fun, welcoming, and make the high-quality dining experience feel casual and comfortable. I also tried the non-alcoholic pairing, and I was impressed by how much thought went into each selection—they complemented the dishes beautifully. Overall, an amazing restaurant that I’d highly recommend!

If you're on the lookout for a vibrant spot to indulge in fresh and healthy fare, look no further than Liv Eat Healthy Eating Liverpool Street. This delightful eatery offers an impressive selection of nutritious options, including flavorful salads and hearty soups that don’t skimp on taste. Whether you’re vegan or vegetarian, you'll find a plethora of delicious choices at reasonable prices that cater to your dietary preferences.
We both had the Burito bowl with grilled chicken and guacamole, sour cream and cheese (NB- We were not advised that these would incur an extra cost (It was our first time ever at Liv Eat), so I am a bit miffed about that. I paid $41.20 for the two, although the sign stated $14.90 each, i.e. $29.80 for two. In addition, the sign does not state anywhere the prices for extras!! The food was delicious (so I gave a tentative 5 stars) and I would come back, but a warning to the uninitiated, apparently at Liv Eat, it is the customer that must ask about any undisclosed pricing. It seems like a deliberate ploy on their part actually.

I wish I saw more of this chain in New Zealand, as it was such a relief to see healthy and unique dishes at reasonable prices. Even for an airport this was priced very reasonable. The food was really delicious and healthy. The staff was rather unfriendly, did not serve with a smile which was quite disappointing.

if you want value for money, and basic customer service, this is not the place. after letting staff know multiple times about our online order, the staff ended up just leaving our food on the counter for 10 minutes without even trying to let anyone know there was an order complete until we had to ask again if our order was ready. we end up eating a cold and tiny burrito that’s falling apart and burrito bowl ($18.70 for a bowl that size!? and you pay extra for guac and you get a spoonful!?) we weren’t expecting much from this place, but what a let down :(
Budge B — Google review
Bought a chicken borrito bowl. With extra chicken. Hardly any chicken present at all. Very disappointing. If I pay $18 for food, and specifically order extra protein, it's reasonable to expect there would be quite a lot of chicken. I'd expect more chicken if I didn't even order the extra. I doubt there was even close to the amount of even one chicken thigh of meat in this bowl. Absolute rip off. Won't eat here again.

I went in to live, eat the other day to order a salad in a bowl. It looked lovely. I didn't have a chance to go anywhere else I was in a hurry and I paid the price. And when I went to eat it, I was disgusted in what you get for that amount of money you pay I'm disgusted in the price you charge for mostly lettus. a bit of shredded chicken. egg croutons and a bit of Mayo. I'm very disappointed in the prices that you charge. I will never ever go in there again. I've told lots of my friends and they don't go there either and this is why, this will be spread around all by word and mouth, so I think you need to change your prices. You'll get a lot more people coming in, but I will never pay that amount of money for mostly lettus it is shredded chicken ever again.

I went there around 1:30. The tables were covered with dirty trays, and I ended up eating a loosely rolled burrito at one of the larger tables. It was okay—at least it was hot. A staff member came by and cleared the trays, but she didn’t wipe the table, which was still covered in food crumbs. I waited, thinking she’d come back to clean it properly, but she never did. As I was leaving, I noticed three staff members chatting casually behind the counter. Really disappointing cleanliness standards. I’ll be sticking with Zambrero from now on. Oh, and they charge $6.80 for a bottle of Kombucha—ridiculous. P.S. It’s been three hours and I’m starting to feel sick. I had the chicken burrito. I’ve also seen another person mention feeling unwell after eating from the chicken menu, so I’m starting to think there might be a connection.

First time here. One major fault: If you respect rice, don't get it here. It's death via overcooking (I'm guessing boiling and straining). Please, please, please get a rice cooker and teach the proper way to cook rice. Otherwise, the bowl was well presented. Taste was average because the falafel was on the dry side (it's about the same with the Yumi's original falafel you get from Colesworth). I'd come back but definitely sub out the rice. Photo: Good presentation of the burrito bowl until I got to the rice.

Greek restaurant
Urban Greek is a delightful culinary gem that brings the vibrant flavors of Cretan cuisine to Tasmania, filling a gap in the local dining scene. This eatery features stunning Ancient Greek murals and offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for social gatherings. The menu showcases classic dishes crafted from cherished family recipes, ensuring each plate bursts with authenticity and love.
We thought it was another Mediterranean restaurant, but we were amazed by the quality of the food, taste, presentation, and portion. We tried both the sparkling wine, and they were awesome. We ordered d mixed dip, 3 flavor, Fava was my favorite followed by the dip with white fish roe. The smoky eggplant dip is a bit too smoky for my taste bud. The Poseidon plate portion is just right cos we are already half.full with the pita bread and dips, seafood was fresh, and Chef managed to preserve the original taste. The only downside was the vinegarette octopus, I personally think it is a bit overpowered. We end our meal with dessert and expresso. Staff were very patient and friendly. It was thus far my best Greek food experience. Recommended.!

After a last-minute search for somewhere to eat, we stumbled upon Urban Street Greek, and they were kind enough to accommodate us - what a lucky find! We had the banquet and it did not disappoint. The serving sizes were very generous and the food just kept coming out. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully cooked. The service was top-notch too. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The interior was lovely — stylish, warm, and welcoming. It created the perfect atmosphere for a great night out with friends or family. Highly recommended!

I live in Melbourne, where you can find some of the best Greek restaurants anywhere! That said, Urban Greek was exceptional, with excellent service, a fun buzz and not too noisy like the beer hall next door! The saganaki was as good as any I’ve had. Highlight of the night was the mousaka! Unfortunately I didn’t have room for dessert. If you love Greek food, Urban Greek will be a treat.

Have been a number of times and always thoroughly enjoyed the banquets. This time we each chose a dish from the vintage menu and then shared them - the choices were all superb, and included some unique flavour combinations we had not run across before. The service was outstanding, dealing with a food allergy with class and aplomb, and ensuring we made our flagged departure time to catch an evening performance. Wine list was good and the advice on selection was spot on. As always, the whole experience was terrific.

Restaurant
Landscape Restaurant & Grill draws inspiration from the natural beauty of Tasmania and the art of John Glover, offering a memorable dining experience. The restaurant showcases Tasmania's premium produce with reimagined classics and an ingredient-focused menu sourced from local farmers. Chef Oli Mellers, with experience from renowned chefs in London, cooks a variety of meat, seafood, and vegetables on a custom-made asado grill. The smoky flavors from the grill are infused into many dishes, particularly the Cape Grim steaks.
This was one of the very unique restaurants I have visited. They are designed as a restaurant within an art gallery displaying collections from Mr.John Glover. I made a reservation for dinner on 17th Apr and was warmly welcomed by their staffs. Everyone was professional in how they interact with the guests. Ordered a scotch fillet medium rare with pepperberry & coqnac sauce, pumpkin tempura, and Huon valley apple pie. All of the food were delicious and well prepared. Steak was super tender and their Asado grill gave it a special smokey scent to it. Pumpkin tempura was very crispy on the outside and very soft inside. The apple pie paired with R139 riesling (as suggested) was a great way to finish my last dinner for the holiday. Special thanks to Lucia who was very friendly and made the experience even more memorable. Should I ever get to visit Hobart again, this place will definitely be on the list.

Tried our luck with a walk-in and managed to get seated. The Eye Fillet was so good! Tender and juicy, literally melting in your mouth. We added some shaved truffle, but felt that it didn’t taste very strong. The potatoes were very tasty too. Service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was great!

Honestly the best experience I’ve had 4 years in Australia. In Sydney almost none of the restaurants have this kinda service! The waitress (Pauline) provided top notch customer service, smiling, very attentive to our needs and went above and beyond!! She treats all customers the same so you will have no problem with her! Steak although it took around 45mins, it was perfect, along with all the sides and desserts! The environment is quiet and easy to talk with well managed food service order! The time between courses are perfect for talking! Thank you for your wishes and service! You’ve made my graduation trip even better! Made my parents felt even more relaxed. Best value, best service, best food! Definitely should try this restaurant

We came here to celebrate my 25th birthday after searching for the best restaurants in Hobart, and Landscape was one of the top recommendations. Being big fans of SK Steak & Oyster in Brisbane, we were excited to try another fine-dining, high-end steakhouse experience while visiting Tasmania. For entrées, we ordered the kingfish sashimi and the calamari. The calamari was the hidden gem—definitely not your usual fried dish, but something elevated and full of flavour, with a chef’s creative touch. For mains, I had the Wagyu 9+ Robbins Island eye fillet ($120) and it was absolutely worth every bite—rich, juicy, and beautifully cooked. We also had the blue eye trevalla, which was tender, perfectly prepared, and paired with an incredible sauce. The green special salad made a great side, but the real standout at the end was dessert—the apple tart was the perfect final touch. The wine collection was also outstanding, as you’d expect in Tasmania. Overall, we had an amazing evening. The food, service, and atmosphere all lived up to the reputation. Be prepared to spend a little—it’s definitely on the premium side—but if you want to treat yourself to a special dining experience, this place is well worth it. Highly recommend.

Our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the service was polished yet warm. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. A truly outstanding fine dining experience that exceeded every expectation!

Had a fantastic dinner at Landscape during a weekend in Hobart. We started with the full oyster selection — all excellent, but the smoked dashi, daikon and chilli oyster was the standout. The kingfish sashimi was also beautifully prepared and incredibly fresh. For the main, the Wagyu eye fillet was cooked perfectly, rich and tender. The duck fat chips with smoked salt and charcoal aioli were unforgettable — an absolute must-order. Service was warm and professional, the wine list is exceptional, and the whole dining experience feels refined without being pretentious. A must-visit when in Hobart. I’ll definitely return on my next trip.

A curated dining experience from start to finish 👌🏻 Their steaks are cooked to a perfect medium-rare, complemented by unique, inventive sides like their pumpkin tempura, or staples like the crispy duck-fat potatoes. Their professional staff provide warm, genuine service and take great pride in their work 🙌🏻 It is a place everyone should try at least once while in Hobart!

A fantastic modern Australian spot. The atmosphere is relaxed yet stylish, and the service from Pauline was friendly and attentive. Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Mount Wellington. Not quite as popular as Salamanca Market, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Mountains
Mount Wellington, also known as kunanyi, is a 4,170-foot mountain in Hobart that offers stunning views of the city and the surrounding area. The mountain features the striking Organ Pipes cliffs and is crisscrossed with walking trails, making it popular among hikers and mountain bikers. Visitors can drive to the summit for panoramic views or join guided tours to explore the area.
We didn’t have a lot of time to spend on Mount Wellington that day, so instead of going on any long hikes, we just drove straight up to the summit—and honestly, it was totally worth it! The views from the top are absolutely stunning. You can see all of Hobart, the Derwent River, and the surrounding mountains. It’s the kind of spot where you just stop, take a deep breath, and go “wow.” Super photogenic too—great for quick photos or just soaking it all in. If you’re into hiking, there are some awesome trails that start lower down and go through forest, rocks, and open alpine areas. Looked amazing for a full-day adventure—we’d definitely love to come back and do those properly next time! ⚠️ A few tips: • It gets really windy and cold up there—even on sunny days—so bring a warm jacket. • The road up is sealed and easy to drive, just take it slow around the bends. • Weather can change fast. If it’s cloudy or foggy, you might miss the views—but that kind of moody atmosphere is pretty cool too! ✅ Verdict: Even if you’re just popping up for a short visit, Mount Wellington is a must-see. Super easy to access and the views are next level. Don’t skip it!
Nicole N — Google review
Fabulous experience to be at the top after snowfall. Great views of the city and far beyond. There is an indoor glass viewing area to keep you warm & shelter from wind. Plenty of parking and restroom available. Pinnacle road can be quite busy at peak times.

Excellent view from Mt Wellington. A bit tricky to get to the summit if you aren’t steady on your feet. Inside observation area is clean and comfortable. Viewing deck is great and public toilets are very modern and very clean!
Fran H — Google review
Beautiful views of Hobart and the surrounding area. Cool place to see some snow and experience some extreme weather. The temperature dropped quite a lot on ascent and the wind at the top was very fast, but that also made it fun and unique. I recommend to bring some warm clothes and a wind breaker to go for the few short walks at the top.
Tim G — Google review
Mount Wellington/ Kunayi is an imposing, spiritual and majestic natural mountain right in the middle of Hobart. I used a local tour company to drive to the top of the mountain and the views are absolutely amazing. A definite must for visitors to Hobart. IMPORTANT TIP: Do not pass on the opportunity to use the toilet/ portaloos on the way up to the mountain. It takes about 40 minutes for a bus to get to the top and very little toilet opportunity for toilet breaks.
Normandy J — Google review
The place in itself was nice with unique alpine and subalpine plants. It has got several viewing platforms and information boards which was really helpful. People said it is usually windy even in summer but when we went there it was extra windy than usual so our car was also shaky. We went to the Pinnacle lookout and observation shelter where we were able to enjoy a full panoramic view of Hobart. Also, the wind was not able to distract us in the observatory as it was enclosed.
Ash — Google review
Mount Wellington was one of the highlights of my trip to Hobart. The view from the top is absolutely spectacular, offering an incredible panoramic scene of the city, the river, and the surrounding landscape. It truly captures the natural beauty of Tasmania. The drive up the mountain was very enjoyable. The road is well-maintained, surrounded by lush greenery, and the scenery along the way makes the journey just as pleasant as the destination itself. I was also fortunate to have clear weather, which made the view even more impressive once I reached the summit. It can get quite windy at the top, which is expected given the elevation, so make sure to bring something warm or hold onto your belongings securely. My main advice is to check the weather conditions and road access before heading up, as the summit road can occasionally be closed due to weather changes.

This place is absolutely amazing! A must-visit on any Hobart trip. The pinnacle area offers mind-blowing views — truly breathtaking scenery all around.

Fantastic day out. We caught the Red Decker to the Female Factory which was amazing and we also enjoyed the experience of seeing Hobart on an open air bus. In the afternoon we took the tour to the historic Richmond village. Our driver, Tony was witty, knowledgeable and a lovely host and added so much value to our tour with hints and tips and jokes to keep us laughing all the way. The village provided plenty of interesting things to fill in the 3 hour stay including a tour of the gaol, view of the beautiful bridge, lovely devonshire aftermoon tea, shopping and lunch at the bakery. Highly recommend especially if you don't have s car in Hobart. Shout out to the Visitor Information Staff also. The bus leaves from there.

Paul was an excellent driver and tour guide. Safe driver, professional, funny and he shared many local recommendations. I went on the Mt Wellington hop-on hop-off bus; it was affordable, and Mt Wellington is definitely worth a visit. The view from the top was nothing short of spectacular. Many hiking trails with varying difficulty are suitable for everyone. I highly recommend the Silver Falls one - easy to navigate, not too difficult, took around 45 minutes to an hour. The scenery was magnificent with towering ferns and a hidden waterfall. Red Decker also offers other bus tours that you should check out as well.

It's Australia's largest privately owned museum with captivating modern and historic art installations that are both confronting and entertaining. One of the recommended ways to get there is by taking the Mona Roma ferry, which offers a relaxing and picturesque ride along the River Derwent. The ferry trip takes approximately 25 minutes from Brooke Street Pier and provides great commentary along with comfortable seating.
Beautiful experience. The ferry ride was about 15 mins one way and there are some breathtaking views. Take your camera out and start clicking. I did the standard experience not the posh one. It really makes no difference in my opinion. It's 15 minutes, you don't need a special lounge for that, haha.

Caught the ferry with six other friends on Monday 23 June. Splurged and went in the Posh Pit. Lydia was the most friendliness host and a credit to your organisation. We had a super fun day chilling, drinking champers and eating fresh oysters. We all had visited the museum previously so just wanted to hang out and laugh, eat and relax. Thanks to all staff in the bar as well as the ferry. A truly memorable day.

Fabulous organisation & very timely. Easy to change time slots of return journey too. We booked the Posh pit, highly recommend it. Lovely small snacks & nice drinks on offer. Special mention to the lovely staff especially Lydia. So friendly.

Outstanding experience and well worth spending extra to enjoy the Posh Pit. Excellent service, lovely nibbles and drinks. The thing I enjoyed and appreciated most about the MONA ferry was that the experience began even before we boarded. The staff member in the terminal who called passengers to present for boarding was hilarious in her commentary, with quite the acerbic wit. She had everyone in fits of giggles. Staff in the Posh Pit were courteous and very efficient, especially given how many passengers they had to attend to whilst still having to manage casting-off and arrival tasks. The nibbles were small and tasty and more than enough given how short the trip is. All in all a first-class experience and highly recommended.
Dedre T — Google review
We travelled in the Posh Pit expecting a premium experience, but it fell short. While the staff were lovely, the drinks were good, and the seating was comfortable, the overall experience was disappointing. The biggest issue was the windows – they were so dirty we could barely see the water. Given the extra cost for the Posh Pit, this lack of basic upkeep was frustrating. The view is meant to be part of the experience, and it was completely ruined by the filthy glass.

Great way to travel to MONA. Nice touch with the brilliant food served and the smooth cruise from Constitution Dock to the docks of MONA. Indulge and travel like the rockstar that you deserve!

Posh pit tix. Had the lovely Declan both ways. Friendly, efficient and on the ball. A total gem. The actual product is wonderful. A few small savoury bites on the way out and a couple of sweets on the way back. I was able to re-book an earlier trip back which was a bonus.
Cee J — Google review
Mona ferry was easy to find and a fantastic experience. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. We booked the posh pit, well worth the extra expense! The stairs at the Mona end while sound a little hard (99 steps) was actually very easy, small steps takes the load off the climb! Drinks were free flowing and topped up very quickly, food in both directions was excellent! We changed our time on the way back and the Mona staff were fantastic!

The Theatre Royal in Hobart is a Georgian theater known for its stunning red-and-gold interior. It hosts a variety of modern plays, dance performances, and shows related to the performing arts. As one of the oldest continually operating theaters in Australia, dating back to 1837, it holds historical significance and offers visitors a unique cultural experience. This iconic venue is just one of many historical sites worth exploring in the Hobart region, showcasing Tasmania's rich heritage and diverse attractions.
Beautiful interior, cosy atmosphere. Very easy to get to seats and good visibility from anywhere. Sound and lighting was great, so a lovely intimate experience.

Went for a shower during Dark Mofo and just loved the historic theatre with its ceiling and wall ornaments, the balconies and chandelier. Its connected to the TAS university where each level has a bar so no crowding. Seats are close to each other but comfortable (reasonably). I hope they keep it its state and I am looking forward to come back

A gorgeous old theatre hosting great shows! The entrance is modern and beautiful. The location is perfect as the wharf is just a quick walk down the road for dinner.

The Studio Theatre is an intimate venue with seating on 3 sides. The is a small balcony as well. The large wooden features give the space a wonderful acoustic. It is a warm and clear. I saw Vince Jones and Paul Grabowski performing in the Festival of Voices and it was the perfect venue. It’s located on the 4th level of the complex and there is a lit or stairs. Only drawback I could find was that there was a water fountain but no cups and the bar did not provide water unless you asked.
G M — Google review
This upgrade to the once grand old lady of Theatre, the beautiful Theatre Royal is definitely a statement. However avoid the Dress Circle seats in the new facility as there is extremely poor ventilation and visibility is disappointing for such a large space which could have been World Class. Left early to avoid fainting from lack of oxygen. The smoke effect rises and compounds the ventilation issue in the very small dress circle.
J L — Google review
Cozy atmosphere both inside the theatre and the bars. The prices for beverages are good too. The theatre is comfortable, and the interior is amazing and well preserved.

Nice vibe walking through. Happy to get to visit there whilst in Hobart.

i imagine this mall is everyday life for the locals. if your first stop in hobart was salamanca, come here next to get a different angle on the city

It could use a thorough clean at least once a week. Detergent and such as pressure cleaning etc. The place is a bit of a cess pool antisocial behaviour vibe feel in this. Seen some young people running through and unsure what is going on really. They weren't jogging although there were the dedicated joggers. A few homeless maybe and some groups of people you feel maybe shouldn't be there. Having 3-5 police walking the mall area would be great at least you would feel there is a bit of order. None sighted but did see a police paddy wagon at the south end. I daresay the authorities know there is a problem there. Unfortunately as tourists see the place, it's not a good look to just have a bandaid approach. Why not use move on notices and banning orders etc?
Nihongo02341 — Google review
Outdoor mall with good location within Hobart city. One sees many eateries, mobile accessories, clothings shops n other businesses on both sides of the tree lined street. More needs to be done to upgrade the place as the mall is starting to look tired. Fallen leaves seen scattered on the ground in the evening showing poor maintenance. One can see the occasional homeless person and busker and many school kids.

Came here with a large group of friends on a Friday night and it was the perfect choice! There were so many food choices and we all enjoyed trying each others’ picks. The prices varied, there were some cheaper options as well as more expensive. They had live music and we all danced to it after eating. It was a lovely way to spend an evening. (It’s also hyper-local and zero waste!)

Friday afternoons in march and April it would not be prudent to be anywhere else ! The band is at a nice comfortable level to be enjoyed but not to overwhelm . It’s good to see people attending and enjoying a free event with options for enjoy food stalls from all different places !

Top notch experience, a must try on a Friday night! Markets themselves are really professionally run. There was live music, a selection of around 15 food vans and security and cleaners around making the event really well run. There was a strong selection of Tasmanian alcohol and seafood as well which was another win. Very strong recommend from me!!!

St. David's Park, located near the bustling Salamanca Markets in Hobart, is a green oasis with large trees providing plenty of shade and peaceful spots to relax and read. The park features amenities like flying foxes for kids, a spider web, and a soccer/cricket oval. It is a popular venue for birthday parties and sports games. The park also has historical significance as it was once Hobart's first cemetery, with old headstones embedded into its walls. St.
A quiet and interesting park. Site of Hobart's first cemetery, there's a respectful wall of historical headstones you can read through. Beautiful gardens and well kept lawns. Handy shortcut between streets too.

This is a nice city park in Hobart located along Davey Street just next to Salamanca Place. Originally these where the grounds of cemetery for early settlers. Redesigned as a park in 1926, you now find English style garden landscaping along with historical monuments, a memorial wall, rotunda and a handful of Neo gothic style tombs of notable early settlers. It is a relaxing stretch of green space in the CBD, good opportunity for monument viewing in Hobart as well.

Good place to soak up the sun on a fine day . People say colonialism is not all bad but then it is a little tricky to say that a few nice parks made up for the almost complete annihilation of the indigenous population . Gosh there’s a school group here . I’m bit going to take photos of random youths though that would just get me in trouble .it seems they are actually doing some exercise in here . That’s a really fabulous idea and excellent use of such a fine public park ! Just remember to wear sunscreen ok !

Located right next to the bustling Salamanca Markets we were so amazed by how peaceful it was at St David’s Park. The park has lots of large trees with many shady spots to relax and read a book which lots of people were enjoying today. The park is also dotted with clean comfy park benches for those who prefer to be seated. St David’s Park has lots of memorial pieces to look at and is home to St David’s Memorial Walls which is a lovely dedication to a lot of Hobarts founding families.

Aloft, located at Brooke Street Pier in Hobart, offers a unique dining experience with its Mediterranean-style restaurant, Restaurant Maria. The original venue boasts a multi-course chef's menu featuring top-quality Tasmanian produce prepared with inventive techniques. The restaurant is known for its stunning architecture and waterfront views as well as its commitment to collaborating with local producers. The loft-style eatery presents an ever-changing seasonal menu highlighting locally sourced seafood, meats, and dairy products.
Can we rate this place higher?! Riley was magnificent with service, looked after all our needs and dietary concerns. Swapped whatever was required and all non dairy items. Nothing was an issue. The set menu was absolutely stunning, each item was crafted and put together with care. Each service staff who brought out anything to our table knew their info on the dishes and was able to share everything with us. We were delightfully full at the end of the night. We didn't match the wines but chose a cocktail and glass of wine and that was enough. Luckily we got to sit at the window but it wouldn't have mattered the atmosphere is very warm, chilled and relaxed. Must book and get in early. Our sitting was at 5:30 and we thought it would be too early but for the amount of food it was good to eat early to then digest and enough a drink after dinner.

We were welcomed and attended to very warmly by staff. The food was amazing - utilising local fresh produce and highlighting them with food cultures around the world. Every dish has a strong presence or flavour profile, but yet unique. I would have liked something more subtle to punctuate the strong flavours. There’s nothing wrong with any particularly dish, just a preference to have a more balanced flavour profile from start to finish. Nonetheless, I will definitely recommend Aloft to others and I will definitely re-visit. On the way out, we were also acknowledged by the chef, which was a good touch on their part.

Absolutely incredible experience at Aløft. We flew into Hobart in the afternoon and this was a brilliant way to spend our first evening in Tasmania. We were given a window seat with a stunning view of the harbour and the entire restaurant was very atmospheric. All the servers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I had the vegetarian tasting menu and I thought every single dish was impeccable. I also appreciated how there was some vegetarian protein (tofu) included in some of the dishes and it wasn't all just vegetables (unlike veggie tasting menus I've had in other restaurants!). I also liked how I was given the option to have the regular dessert instead of the vegan one if I was fine with eating gelatin (which I was). Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish and an incredible introduction to Tasmanian cuisine.

Seriously one of the best meals I've had in a very very long time. All local fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and in a stunning setting overlooking the sea. I was sat by myself at the bar and couldn't have been happier, watching the chefs work their magic and tell stories about each dish. I was very well looked after and I will definitely be back!

We had the chef's menu with wine pairing and it was top-notch. We were lucky enough to have seats at the bar, which allowed us to watch everything being prepared in front of us by chef Blair, who was great. Hard to fault anything about the evening. The swt menu felt like great value for money. Two thumbs up, certified fresh

We visited Aloft as Melburnians where the food scene is thriving and this was one of the best meals we’ve had!! Starting with the staff who were all so down to earth and friendly - no pretentiousness here which we just loved. We couldn’t fault a single one of the dishes which all showcased local Australian produce with an Asian twist. All so flavorful and delicious, we were in heaven the entire evening. The price point is incredible for a 5-course degustation which actually feels like a 10 course because there are so many dishes included within each course. We will definitely be booking again if we return to Hobart!

One of the best restaurants in Hobart (might even be in whole Australia, for me at least). Dined alone and sat at the bar and everyone are really nice and accommodating. All the ingredients was locally sourced and the chefs had really good attention to detail, it is really cooked to perfection. The FOH staff talked me through how the night will go in terms of the menu. Highly recommend adding the scallops as it was one of the best ive had. Top 3 dishes for me on the set menu that night would be Koji Pork, Sashimi, and Scallop. Safe to say i enjoyed my visit and would visit again once im in Hobart.

We dined here for a birthday. The service was excellent and a lovely atmosphere. We were also satisfied with the wines. The food was well presented and there were some delicious items, however both my friend and I felt that too many of the dishes had similarly-flavoured very sweet and very salty sauces. We felt there was an overall lack of variety and balance in the flavour palate of the degustation.

Peppina is a charming Italian restaurant located in Salamanca Place, Hobart, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere with a focus on Tasmanian produce. The menu features delicious antipasti, wagyu paccheri, and fresh fish dishes. The open kitchen adds to the cozy ambiance, allowing guests to observe the chefs at work. If I could give six stars for all categories I would. Incredible restaurant that you will remember. Extraordinary building and restaurant space - sandstone blocks with convict pick-axe marks. Bold, flavorful and delicate food - my favourite was the beetroot affair followed by the most beautiful lamb I’ve ever had. Service to die for - seem less, easy and kind. The wine list was extensive and very impressive - with wine from every corner of the globe. This is definitely a special event restaurant - enjoy the variety and hospitality.

One of my best meals in Hobart. Amazing modern Italian food. Every dish was executed perfectly. Staff were attentive and knows their stuff very well. Highlight of the night was definitely their tuna crudo! It was so good we ordered that for dessert as well! Bookings are essential as they get booked out early!

Great way to start your day with a nourishing breakfast- eggs done your way, coffee done by proper barista. We can't fault it. We were lucky to get a seat on a Saturday as they are booked out weeks in advance, but wow, that was the best food we have ever eaten. The steak was perfectly cooked, the gnocchi was so soft and with the slow cooked meat it just melted in our mouth. Then when we thought it was all over, then comes the desert.... phenomenal.

The name "Tesoro," meaning treasure, reflects their commitment to serving high-quality Tasmanian food. The restaurant provides an intimate setting for various occasions and is known for featuring products from some of Tasmania's finest producers. Guests have praised the exceptional food quality and balanced flavors of every dish.
Service from Annan and the team were warm, friendly and welcoming - attentive and professional. I went to many restaurants in Hobart and the food here is so much nicer and fresher and much better value. Every dish had quality ingredients that were a higher standard than other more high priced restaurants.

Long one as we’d had breakfast and dinner. Breakfast: Decent value as you get good quality options. Quality fruits, cereal and muesli, fresh juice, decent baked sweets, quality bread and the warm breakfast was well made. Please refer to photos. Dinner, there were hits and miss. Mostly hits. Oysters were fabulous fresh. We couldn’t stop… - Smoked buffalo mozzarella was lovely starter, goes nicely with charred sourdough. - roasted root vegetables with stracciatella was nicely balanced with the fragrant lemon oil - 15 hour low cooked glazed short rib… this was a let down, there is no grill or char flavour in the finishing, all you get is a heavily wines soaked beef that is rather bland. What a waste. - the cannoli with vanilla ricotta was a nice sweet finishing, I’d recommend the pistachio, or you can try chocolate crisps too. Both Cannolis were nice. I would say this has potential to reach 5 stars…

NOT recommended. Unfortunately, both the food quality and service fell below expectations. We felt pressured to place our order multiple times, and ultimately received the wrong dish. Additionally, the staff's demeanor was less than courteous, giving the impression that they wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. I hope they can improve in these areas for the benefit of future guests.

Came into Tesoro with low expectations, but the food really delivered. The beef tartare was especially tender and flavorful, and the pistachio pizza stood out with its rich, creamy texture. The squid ink pasta was garlicky, while the casarecce had a great chew and paired perfectly with the savory pork sausage. A pleasantly satisfying and well-executed meal all around.

We were staying at Movenpick Hotel and thought the menu looks good so decided to pop in for dinner on our second night. Started with the cured kingfish crudo which tasted fresh and a real palate cleanser. Followed by two pastas, the braised beef pappardelle, and pork & fennel sausage. The latter is very tasty and the best of the two, although it’s just a tad oily. We finished off with the tiramisu and a couple of cocktails. Service is attentive and space is cosy.

Restaurant
Me Wah Restaurant offers a high-end dining experience with its warmly-lit ambiance, wood-carved furniture, and water features. It is known for its impeccable hospitality and silver service, making it perfect for special occasions. The menu boasts innovative dishes like spinach soup with crab, duck pancakes, lobster and prawn dumplings, and superb scallops in the shell. Main courses include salt and pepper squid, recommended fish dishes, numbing chicken, and fresh veggies.
Tucked away in the heart of the city, this Chinese restaurant delivers a rich and authentic experience with standout dishes that keep you coming back. • Black Lamb Clay Pot: Deeply flavorful with tender chunks of lamb, slow-cooked to perfection. The sauce was rich, aromatic, and comforting—perfect with a bowl of steamed rice. • Seafood Fried Rice: Light, fluffy, and loaded with fresh prawns, squid, and scallops. Each bite was balanced and not greasy—a rare find. • Steamed Fish (Qing Yi): Absolutely perfectly cooked. The fish was flaky and moist, with a clean soy-ginger sauce that complemented rather than overpowered. A highlight. • BBQ Platter: A well-balanced mix of char siu, roast duck, and crispy pork belly. Everything was juicy, flavorful, and expertly roasted, with crispy skin and tender meat. Service was efficient and friendly, and the ambiance cozy yet elegant. Lost half a star only due to a short wait on a busy evening—but it was worth it.

Efu noodles was done well. Seafood supreme was generally good (big pieces of prawn, fish and squid) except for the fact it was lacking in seasoning and scallops were quite small (got 3, 2 were the size of 20 cent including the roe and 3rd was slightly larger than a 10 cent coin including the roe). Had high expectations given the calibre of this restaurant and previous experience with Hobart and Launceston branch. Maybe it was an off day. Staff member that served me was professional and helpful.

Impeccable service by Stanley, fresh local ingredients, truly authentic Cantonese cuisine. The lobster was delicate and sweet, roast duck had crisp skin and fragrant flesh, beef noodles was deep in wokhei and caramelised to perfection. And the Abalone sauce lomein, was al-dente, just the right chew and paired brilliantly with the sauce. Unmatched even by the best of Sydney. Felt like home every time we’re there. We will be back, hungry for more.
David L — Google review
The entrance of Mei Wah Lou, with its silver doors and stone lions, felt formal and a bit intimidating. Inside, the atmosphere was quiet, with few patrons—some Cantonese-speaking, others local. The service was attentive, with staff promptly serving tea. We ordered four main dishes(nearly 150 bucks), but the portions were small. The dry-fried noodles with vegetables were bland and seemed carelessly prepared. During the meal, there was a loud noise from the kitchen, hinting at some staff communication issues. I found the restaurant through an airport ad, but the experience fell short of expectations. Mei Wah Lou, despite its awards, seems to be resting on its laurels. They should focus on improving the food quality and creating a more welcoming atmosphere to stay competitive.
David H — Google review
Whilst food and service was satisfactory the pricing not so. Total shock when account was presented to us, some our mistake ie on wine pricing although in our defence the wine list pricing not so clear especially for older patrons. The real shock came when checking credit card debit and reviewing the restaurant docket. Found they had charged $48 for a GLASS of wine we didn’t order plus had rounded off the tip to the nearest $100 and not $10 as was requested. As visitors to Hobart we were recommended this restaurant but can assure you we will not be revisiting. Not happy customers.

Amazing Food. Impeccable Service. Just watch the Bill. We shared a bill and paid more than half in cash giving our guests the smaller bill portion. The house charged them the full share and took the rest thinking we wouldn’t notice. We did notice. It felt like theft and the “me no understand” defense was disingenuous.

I was a bit disappointed by the food here. Granted it was a solid high-end Cantonese seafood restaurant, I didn’t find the dishes worthy of its price tag and its Google ratings. The famed steamed scallops were good but not great. The abalone dish came with two tiny dried ones in a sauce that was too plain. The service was too quality though.

One of the best Cantonese Style Restaurant in Australia, even when compared to bigger capital cities like Sydney. It’s pricier than your average Chinese restaurant. Quality of food served is top notch. Nice environment and very attentive staff. Booking essential, especially on weekends. Dim Sum on Sundays is a lovely experience because they have reintroduced trolley service - where various dim sum dishes are brought to you on trolley for you to see and order if it catches your fancy.
