New Plymouth in 3 days

If you only have 3 days to spend in New Plymouth, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
New Plymouth offers striking coastal scenery framed by the dramatic backdrop of Mount Taranaki, with the long Te Rewa Rewa Bridge and Coastal Walkway among its most recognizable landmarks. The city has a strong arts and culture scene, anchored by the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre and regular festivals such as the TSB Festival of Lights in Pukekura Park. Visitors can explore surf beaches, lush gardens, and nearby hiking trails, all within a relatively compact and easy-to-navigate area. Its mix of outdoor adventure, contemporary art, and relaxed small-city atmosphere makes it a distinctive stop on a North Island itinerary.
With favorites like Cafe Turquoise, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre, and Monica's Eatery, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Petit Paris and Crowded House Bar & Eatery so you can get the best taste of New Plymouth while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Pukekura Park is a serene oasis located in the heart of New Plymouth. The park offers a variety of attractions, including walking trails, formal gardens, lakes, and children's play areas. Visitors can marvel at the stunning view of Mount Taranaki and catch breathtaking sunsets at Back Beach. The park also features a teahouse and hosts the Festival of Lights during the summer.
Maybe with the exception of the Hamilton Gardens, this park is easily my favourite in NZ. It is an absolute gem and highlight in New Plymouth and a must see if you are passing through or staying on holiday. There are many nice walks, but equally as great is the big pond, bridges and many nice minor sights along the tracks. It is an easy walk and you can choose how far you go. There is a cafe as well, which is nice for views and relaxing. Overall, highly recommend!
Straan W — Google review
It’s a beautiful park. There are enough things to do to keep you entertained. There’s a cafe you can relax after a nice walk around the park. There’s a buggy you can ride on for $5 per person and a gold coin donation for children, it takes you around the park effortlessly. There’s a fernery where you can see various of plants and flowers, free of entrance! It is a big park, you can definitely get those steps in easily. There’s a public toilet too. You can see different age groups hanging around. You can meet different dog breeds too as they take a stroll on the park with their owner. You can also find ducks waddling around. Parking may be a struggle though. Best to park your car at the park rather than at the entrance of the park! Oh and it’s also wheelchair friendly too!

This beautiful park is always an amazing place to visit no matter how many years you've been away from home, so many fond family memories 💜

Pukekura Park in New Plymouth is widely considered a jewel in New Zealand's horticultural crown, offering a truly diverse and engaging experience for all ages. Here's a comprehensive review: Overall Impression: Pukekura Park is a sprawling, meticulously maintained urban oasis that seamlessly blends formal gardens, native bush, open lawns, and recreational facilities. It's much more than just a park; it's a living canvas that changes with the seasons, offering something new to discover with every visit. Its beauty, tranquility, and variety make it a beloved spot for locals and a must-see for visitors to New Plymouth. Key Highlights: * Diverse Landscapes: The park boasts an impressive range of landscapes, from formal English-style gardens with vibrant annual bedding displays to dense native bush walks, tranquil fern grottos (the Fernery & Display Houses are a particular highlight), and serene lakes. This variety ensures there's always something visually appealing around every corner. * Iconic Features: * Lakes and Waterfalls: The series of artificial lakes, fed by natural streams, are central to the park's charm. You can rent traditional wooden rowboats (seasonal) for a peaceful paddle, and the picturesque waterfall (which lights up at night during the Festival of Lights) is a popular photo spot. * Poet's Bridge: This charming bridge is another favorite for photographers and adds to the park's romantic ambiance. * Bowl of Brooklands: A world-class natural amphitheater nestled within the park, the Bowl of Brooklands is famous for hosting major concerts, including the WOMAD festival, and is a key venue for the Festival of Lights. Its lakeside setting provides a unique and memorable concert experience. * Fernery & Display Houses: These partially sunken glass-topped grottos are a tropical haven, showcasing an extensive collection of native and exotic ferns and other plants. It's a fantastic place to escape the elements and immerse yourself in lush greenery. * Brooklands Zoo: A free, family-friendly zoo located within the park, home to a variety of animals, including farmyard animals, meerkats, and a walk-through aviary. It's a great bonus for families. * TSB Festival of Lights (Summer): This is arguably Pukekura Park's most famous event. From mid-December to late January, the park transforms into a magical wonderland with hundreds of dazzling light displays, live entertainment, and food vendors. It's a free event and a truly enchanting experience, especially for families. There's also a smaller "Winter Pop-Up" around Matariki. * Accessibility: The park is generally very accessible, with well-maintained paths suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. There are numerous entrances, allowing easy access from various parts of the city. * Free Entry: Pukekura Park (and Brooklands Zoo) is free to enter and enjoy year-round, making it an incredibly valuable community asset and an affordable attraction for tourists. * Wildlife: The park is home to a variety of birdlife, including ducks, shags, tui, and kereru (New Zealand wood pigeon), adding to the natural experience. Things to Consider: * Crowds during Festival of Lights: While magical, the Festival of Lights attracts large crowds, particularly on weekends and evenings. If you prefer a quieter experience, visit during the day or in the off-season. Tips for Visitors: * Allocate Time: Pukekura Park is expansive (52 hectares), so allow plenty of time to explore its various sections. You could easily spend half a day or more here. * Wear Comfortable Shoes: There are many paths to explore, so comfortable footwear is essential. * Pack a Picnic: The park offers numerous beautiful spots for a picnic. Alternatively, the Tea House on the Lake provides refreshments. * Check Event Listings: If you're visiting in summer, definitely check the dates for the TSB Festival of Lights and any concerts at the Bowl of Brooklands. * Visit the Fernery: Even if you're not a keen gardener, the Fernery is a unique and captivating experience.

Brewpub

Restaurant
Shining Peak Brewing, located in New Plymouth, derives its name from the Maori words for "peak" and "shine," reflecting the brewery's connection to Mount Taranaki. Jesse Sigurdsson, the brewer, crafts a diverse range of beers including traditional lagers, amber ales, hazy IPAs, saisons, and vintage stouts.
The food was very fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented with a menu that has something for everyone. Their beers are fantastic too. There is a wide range of choices, from crisp and refreshing to bold and complex, so you are guaranteed to find a favorite. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Highly recommend for both great food and excellent beer!

Great looking decor as a brewery, very welcoming Team of friendly staff. Food was out quick and very tasty. Pork belly was not the traditional style yet was still well cooked and tender. Grilled salmon was accompanied with a very refreshing salad. Will definitely return to try something different.

Went here to celebrate my partner's birthday. Superb choice!! Beated my high expectations. Welcoming and attentive staff sharing genuinely their professionalism (bravi!!), fantastic selection of beer tasting, food....wow!! Appealing presentation. Flavours..10/10 (snapper, carrots, asparagus, with delicious sauces which added nicely value and rewarded our palates..). Ice cream to finish dying and fully satisfied. Highly reccommended. We will definetely come back. Thank you!

I chose Shining Peak Brewing to celebrate my husband’s birthday this January, and the entire experience was absolutely amazing! The food was nothing short of perfection – truly a chef’s kiss! Our server, Annie, was the real star of the show. She was incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. A special touch that made the evening even more memorable was when she brought out our drinks with a birthday candle attached to my husband’s drink – it was the cutest and sweetest gesture! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting New Plymouth. It’s definitely a place worth celebrating at!

Along the way, visitors can enjoy fish and chips at Fitzroy beach, catch a beautiful sunset, or explore mountain biking opportunities beyond the walkway. Such a nice walkway with astonishing views all the way!
Michael B — Google review
Lovely walkway that stretches along the waterfront from town out to bell block. Perfect for a walk, run, bike, skate, scooter or practically anything. Very scenic along the walkway, with plenty of great photo opportunities. There are lots of beach access points along the way, and many seats to admire the view. Very popular walkway all year round, especially in the summertime.
Fraser B — Google review
This walkway is 13km long. We did half of it on the first day of arrival & loved the friendly vibe of it, the sea views & the great sunset. Didn't like the fact it wasn't lit up after dark, & lights from scooters & bikes almost blinded us as we made our way home in the dark.
Diana W — Google review
One of the highlights of New Plymouth. Follows the beautiful rugged coastline to Bell Block. Best on a bike unless you want to kill a whole day walking it’s length. Plenty to see and do on the way. Lots of highlights.

Really nice to walk or bike, amazing ocean views the whole way! Very easy walk or bike, too. For added excitement, do the walk or bike on a really windy day! The waves break right up against the walkway! And, the street art is really nice

Shopping
Centre City Shopping Centre is a typical indoor mall with a range of chain stores and a food court. The mall is well organized and the shops are nicely decorated. There is also a nice little cafe and eatery in the center of the shopping complex. The food court features many global eats, making it great for those who want to try something different.
I love going to City Center. There is a good variety of shops, with lots of choices to pick from. There are also a few eating places, of which Muffin Break and Tank are my favorites. The parking there is also central and not expensive.
Marthie J — Google review
The City Centre Shopping Mall in New Plymouth offers a decent selection of retail stores, including popular brands and specialty shops. While it’s not a large mall, it provides a good variety of fashion, electronics, and homeware options. The food court has several casual dining choices, though it can get crowded during peak hours. The mall is clean and well-maintained, with easy access to parking, but it lacks the variety and scale of larger malls in bigger cities. Overall, it’s a convenient spot for shopping in the heart of New Plymouth.

Brooklands Zoo is a family-friendly attraction located in the heart of New Plymouth. It offers complimentary admission and features a diverse range of animals, including monkeys, parrots, reptiles, amphibians, otters, meerkats, and various colorful birds in a walk-through aviary. The zoo is well-maintained and provides an enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.
Amazing small zoo! Unexpected good experience! We are lucky to see the pigs getting fed at around 11:30. Lovely animals here and even no need for tickets
Wangweimin X — Google review
I didn’t know it was a free entrance which is very generous! You can donate to the zoo, though! It’s a nice small zoo. Some needed attention with the maintenance, especially where the otters are situated. The animals were sooo cute. Unfortunately, we were too late to meet the Capybara as they moved him to Wellington Zoo. We were so excited to see him. It was nice to be inside the aviary, most of the birds were sleeping perched up on the trees. It was super cute. It’s a nice place to visit with the kids, it’s for all ages though. Hope you can donate when you visit 😊
JC — Google review
Great zoo, and it's free! The birds are amazing and we loved the meerkats. Hope they will bring the capybara back. Cool playground for the kids too. And we saw Ross the cat out the gate on the way back home!

Peter A — Google review
Amazing cute little zoo. Donations recommended but free entry. No cappybara when we went sadly but tons of birds and monkeys
Brooks S — Google review
Possibly the best zoo that I have ever been to. No concerns for the animals. They are clearly loved. Walking through the bird enclosure is a special experience. A great place to bring the family, and set within one of the best parks in the country. Best of all it's free. Full marks to New Plymouth. Every time I visit, I want to move here. It's a small zoo but wonderful. I went with an 11 year old and an 8 year old and they had a blast. We spoke at length with two of the keepers and they were both very happy to answer all the questions the children asked which made the visit so much better.

Petit Paris, located in New Plymouth, is a top French dining spot known for its coffee, tea, and delectable French dishes. The cafe offers a cozy setting to savor freshly baked baguettes, quiche, salads, croissants and decadent pastries. With red walls and Parisian accents creating an inviting ambiance, the cafe is praised for its friendly staff and excellent service.
Had a lovely breakfast here with our infant daughter. Food was delicious and well presented. The pastries looked amazing. Coffee was a little bit too hot and tasted slightly burnt, otherwise good. Overall great experience and the staff were delightful. Somewhere I would recommend to friends and family. Thanks for making our breakfast.

Beautiful coffee and beautiful pastries. I enjoyed soaking in the sun while having my morning coffee. The staff are delightful, there's plenty of options to choose from and they said their baker is French and he bakes the bread every morning. So I'm definitely gonna try them next time.

I travelled to New Zealand in the last week and visited Petit Paris in New Plymouth. It was awesome and enjoyed the French toast, and many other pastries, sweet and spicy both not forgetting the lovely coffee brews and the latte. The family environment added to their food and feels like home atmosphere.

This is basically my 'local', i come so often as soon as I walk in the door any one of the waiters knows my drink order. Staff are always amazing and friendly. It has a great atmosphere and is certainly a busy place, yet service is personal and fast, we have a family member in a wheelchair and we are always taken care of even on a busy night. Definitely appreciate staff going the extra mile. Highly recommend, food is always good, and there is never a problem with my fussy requests for subtle changes. The daily specials, are brilliant as well. Keep up the great work.

Lovely evening. Started off with a beautiful waitress Sienna. Her vibe was 100. Polite and patient with a kind smile. She really made our night perfect. We had a gluten free person with us and she made sure to double check her meal was appropriate for her requirements and did it with a smile. It's hard to find great customer service and Sienna was a rockstar. Meals were lovely, kiwi burger was a great price, and the steaks were all cooked perfect and atmosphere was warm and cozy. Only managed to snap the desserts 🎂

We came down from Auckland and decided to try and honestly it exceeded every expectation. We had chicken bacon fettucine, niki burgers (probably one of the best burgers I've ever tried in a restaurant), steak with fries, and some desserts (apple hot crumbled was amazing, recommended by the waitress - Mel, thank you), and everything was absolutely delicious. The portions are huge (which we definitely appreciated), the flavors were spot on, and the service was friendly and fast. We loved it so much we actually came back for dinner after having lunch here earlier in the day. The atmosphere is great too, relaxed, lively, and perfect for watching a game or just hanging out with friends. Easily the best spot in town for hearty food and good vibes. Highly recommend!

Amazing dinner at Arborio in New Plymouth! The prawn and chorizo pizza was spot on. Prosecco wine was a great choice too. Big shout out to Pulkit Aggarwal for exceptional service and recommendations. Highly recommend! Will be back for sure.

Sadly the kitchen closes around 8pm so we couldn't order desert. Food was . Very generous portions arrived quite promptly. Our cocktails were a disaster. You're better off with beers and wines. The place has a cozy ambience. Parking is not quite marked or designated so note that if you're going for lunch.

It says "the best restaurant in New Plymouth" as their advertising when you Google it. By looking at the menu, majority Italian style. I must say they have the biggest mussels I ever saw in any restaurants in NZ. Nicely flavoured and cooked. Caesar salad with chicken and the pizza are just okay. Portion is big so it surely can feed your hungry stomach. We were there during Easter so an additional 15% is applied, still the price is acceptable.

We waited over an hour four two salads today. The restaurant was not full. The Caesar salad was so fatty swimming in dressing, Vietnamese salad tasted as if it had sat in the fridge for several days

1st experience under new ownership, the restaurant was buzzing and busy. The staff seemed a little stressed trying to re-set tables and get people seated; but were friendly and attentive. Food did not take long to arrive at the table given how busy they were and the Chicken Burger in a bowl and tandoori chicken pizza were Devine. The lamb Moroccan pizza was delicious but could have done with a touch more lamb. Overall it was a great experience at a busy time and will definitely be back to try again.

Would probably suggest they downsize the portions of the risotto because they were a bit overwhelming and very salty. The tiramisu also tasted pre frozen and was quite flavourless. But other than that the food was delicious, particularly the gurnard! Best bit was definitely the staff, we were looked after incredibly well and they all seemed to take the busy night in they’re stride.

Salt Restaurant/Cafe & Bar is a waterfront restaurant with great views and a vibe. The staff were professional and friendly, and the food was excellent - if only there was more of it! The dessert was divine, too - their Trio of Chocolate was so good. Highly recommend for a fine dining experience.
Thank you for a fantastic lunch experience at Salt Restaurant! I tried the tacos from the new lunch menu, and they were delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Paired with a refreshing mojito and the perfect view of the waterfront, it made for an unforgettable meal. The service was excellent too; the staff was attentive and made the experience all the more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the new menu. Highly recommend!

What an amazing dinner. There was a smaller variety of choices on the menu but everything we had was exceptional. We had the trio of lamb and the confit pork, started by calamari. We also ordered a side of vegetables. If it wasn't so fancy, I'd have picked the plate! Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive and the window seat view looking out on the wild Taranaki coast kept us entertained. The pork belly was melt in mouth and the sides delicious. Very generous portions too. Highly recommend!

Absolutely outstanding! The food at Salt was incredible – every dish had an exquisite depth of flavour and was beautifully presented. It wasn’t just a meal, it was the kind of dining experience where you want to lick the plate clean. From start to finish, the quality was top tier. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something truly special in New Plymouth.

We booked under first table. Prompt friendly service. Food was delicious. We had calamari to start....hubby had the steak which was cooked to perfection and I had the Moroccan chicken which was tasty. We both had room for dessert..hubby had the whiskey dark chocolate and it was lovely and I had the Mille Feulli which was ok.

Great High Tea at Salt during weekend. Elegant and well executed dishes. Attentive service and relaxed atmosphere. It was perfect for a girls get together and gossip exchange. The choice of teas was impressive, although most people went for Prosecco ;)

Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the picturesque landscape of New Plymouth, Te Rewa Rewa Bridge is a striking pedestrian and cycling bridge that beautifully marries innovative architecture with engineering prowess. Opened on June 5, 2010, this iconic structure spans 70 meters over the Waiwhakaiho River and serves as a vital link in the award-winning New Plymouth Coastal Walkway.
Great walk and bike ride. We stayed the night freedom camping. Lovely to wake up to ducks on the lake. Unfortunately the mountain wasn't playing ball, next time

Good amount of parking, there are rubbish bins in the parking area. You can swim in the lake or do the coastal walk where this iconic bridge(Te Rewa Rewa bridge) in New Plymouth is where you can also capture another iconic feature of Taranaki(Mt Taranaki/Egmont in the background of the bridges structure on a cloud free day.

If you're looking for an easy walk take the Coastal Walkway to Te Rewa Rewa Bridge. Beautiful views and on a good day the mountain may come out to play.

The Te Rewa Rewa Bridge in New Plymouth, New Zealand, is an overwhelmingly positive experience for visitors and locals alike. Here's a review summarising its key aspects: Overall Impression: The Te Rewa Rewa Bridge is a truly iconic landmark in New Plymouth. Its distinctive architectural design, often likened to a breaking wave or whale bones, makes it a visually stunning structure. More than just a bridge, it's an integral part of the renowned Coastal Walkway and offers fantastic scenic views, particularly of Mount Taranaki on a clear day. Key Highlights: * Architectural Marvel: The bridge's unique and elegant design is consistently praised. It's considered a masterpiece of engineering that blends seamlessly with the natural environment. * Mount Taranaki Views: One of the most sought-after experiences is capturing a photo of Mount Taranaki framed perfectly by the bridge's arches. This "money shot" is a significant draw, though clouds can sometimes obscure the mountain. * Coastal Walkway Integration: The bridge is a central point of the Coastal Walkway, a 13.2km shared path ideal for walking, cycling, running, and even e-scootering. This makes it easily accessible and part of a larger scenic experience. * Scenic Surroundings: Beyond the bridge itself, the area offers beautiful coastal views, nearby parks for picnicking, and opportunities for birdwatching. * Cultural Significance: The bridge holds cultural importance, leading to sacred land of the Te Ati Awa iwi and Ngati Tawhirikura hapu, and its design was intended to "touch lightly" on the landscape out of respect for those buried there. * Accessibility: The walkway and bridge are generally flat and easy to navigate, making it suitable for all ages and abilities. * Awards: The bridge has received numerous national and international awards for its design and engineering, cementing its status as a remarkable achievement. Things to Consider: * Mount Taranaki Visibility: While the framed view of Mount Taranaki is a highlight, it's subject to weather conditions. Clouds often obscure the mountain, so it's worth checking the forecast if this is your primary objective. * Shared Path Etiquette: The Coastal Walkway is popular with cyclists, and while most are courteous, some users have reported issues with bikes not giving way or being too close, especially for those with hearing difficulties. Bells on bikes are appreciated. * Maintenance Work: Occasionally, maintenance work (like repainting, which was completed in late 2023) might involve scaffolding, temporarily impacting the perfect photo opportunities. * Wind: The exposed coastal location can be windy, so it's advisable to check weather conditions and dress appropriately. Tips for Visitors: * Best Photo Times: Visit at sunrise or sunset for the most dramatic lighting for photographs. * Bring a Zoom Lens: For the iconic framed shot of Mount Taranaki, a zoom lens (e.g., 70-200mm) is recommended to compress the mountain in the center of the bridge. * Comfortable Shoes: If you plan to explore the Coastal Walkway, comfortable walking shoes are a must. * Consider a Picnic: Nearby parks offer a serene setting for a leisurely afternoon. In conclusion, the Te Rewa Rewa Bridge is a must-visit attraction in New Plymouth. Its architectural beauty, stunning views, and integration into the fantastic Coastal Walkway make it a memorable and highly recommended experience for anyone exploring the Taranaki region.

First visit view through to of Mt Taranaki was covered in cloud. Went back next morning to a clear top and steak of cloud across the middle of it. Regardless its beautiful

Nice and easy walk along the Coastal Walkway to Te Rewa Rewa Bridge. It’s only about a 5-minute walk from the car park. Beautiful views all the way, and if you’re lucky, the mountain pops out too. We only caught a quick glimpse, but it was still worth it!

Always a picturesque sight, very much designed of ribs of a skeleton, was painted last year so looks very bright in the sunshine, also if you stand at the end of the bridge and look though there is a good picture of the mountain

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Wind Wand is a 48-meter tall kinetic sculpture located in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Designed by artist Len Lye and completed in 2000, it has become one of the city's most iconic landmarks. The whimsical red-fibreglass sculpture stands along the Coastal Walkway, offering a captivating sight as it moves with the wind against the backdrop of the Tasman Sea.
Nice walk way,, a must visit
Rini C — Google review
The Wind Wand in New Plymouth is a captivating and iconic landmark that has become synonymous with the city's coastal identity and artistic spirit. Here's a review of this unique sculpture: Overall Impression: The Wind Wand is a mesmerising kinetic sculpture that beautifully interacts with the ever-present Taranaki wind. It's a striking sight on the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway, constantly shifting and swaying, offering a dynamic and ever-changing visual experience. It's more than just a static artwork; it's a living, breathing part of the landscape. Key Highlights: * Kinetic Art in Action: This is its primary appeal. Designed by the internationally renowned New Zealand artist Len Lye, the Wind Wand is a prime example of kinetic sculpture. Its 45-meter (147-foot) red fibreglass tube is incredibly slender (only 20cm in diameter) yet capable of bending up to 20 meters (65 feet) in any direction. Watching it gently sway in a breeze or dramatically lean over in a strong wind is a truly unique and captivating experience. * Iconic Landmark: It has quickly become one of New Plymouth's most recognizable symbols. Its distinctive form and prominent location on the Coastal Walkway make it a focal point for visitors and a point of pride for locals. * Lights Up at Night: At its peak, a sphere contains 1,296 light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that emit a soft red glow after dark. This transforms the sculpture into a glowing beacon, creating a different, equally enchanting experience at night. * Integration with Coastal Walkway: The Wind Wand is perfectly situated on the award-winning New Plymouth Coastal Walkway. This means you can easily incorporate a visit into a leisurely walk, run, or bike ride along the stunning coastline, enjoying views of the Tasman Sea and other public artworks. * Artistic Significance: It's a significant posthumous realization of Len Lye's vision. Lye, a pioneer in kinetic sculpture and experimental film, dreamt of such large-scale "wands," and the New Plymouth Wind Wand is a testament to his groundbreaking ideas and the efforts of the Len Lye Foundation. It also complements the nearby Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre, providing a large-scale outdoor example of his work. * Photogenic: Its unique form, especially against the backdrop of the sea or a dramatic Taranaki sky, makes it highly photogenic. Many visitors enjoy capturing its movement and its interaction with the environment. Things to Consider: * Reliance on Wind: While its kinetic nature is its charm, its movement depends on the wind. On a completely still day, it will stand upright, which might be less "dynamic" than some visitors expect. Conversely, on a very windy day, it can lean quite dramatically! * Simplicity of Design: For some, its simplicity might be underwhelming if they are expecting a complex, intricate sculpture. Its beauty lies in its movement and interaction with natural forces. * Maintenance: Being exposed to coastal elements, the Wind Wand does require periodic maintenance. It has been removed for refurbishment a few times since its installation in 1999/2001, which means there might be rare occasions when it's not present. Tips for Visitors: * Visit at Different Times: Experience it during the day to see its movement, and then return at night to see it glow. * Walk the Coastal Walkway: Don't just drive by. Take a stroll along the Coastal Walkway to fully appreciate the Wind Wand in its context and enjoy the other public art and views. * Visit the Len Lye Centre: If you're interested in the artist, a visit to the nearby Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre will provide deeper insight into Len Lye's work and artistic philosophy. * Observe and Contemplate: Take a moment to sit on one of the nearby benches and simply watch its mesmerizing dance. In conclusion, the Wind Wand is a highly recommended stop in New Plymouth. It's a beautiful, thought-provoking, and dynamic piece of public art that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of its location and the genius of Len Lye.

The wind wand is part of the coastal walk or bike trail. Highly recommended. Beautiful clean and close to the other attractions of New Plymouth

It the easier of the parking meters to pay over the phone wish they upgrade the other so they all were the same. Because we all know we always in a rush to get somewhere on time especially when it could be on the other side of town
Mark N — Google review
Obviously an icon on the coastal walkway, the wind wand sways back & forth on the ocean breezes as the sculptor, Len Lye, wished it to. He had a passion for dance in his work evidently & how that manifests on the breezes with the ocean as a backdrop is artistic in itself. At night the light is an icon of the waterfront
Diana W — Google review
I'm not sure what the wind wand is for, but it was apparently designed by a famous NZ artist (Len Lye). The coastal walkway where the wind wand stands (or sways) is an amazing walk though and definitely worth the visit. This kinetic sculpture just makes things more interesting, I guess 👌😉
Dins R — Google review

Amazing museum this is a great place for all ages and on a rainy day. Free admission for everyone. The front entrance is not in use, you will need to enter from the side entrance which is not all that obvious. Located right near the beach/sea. Walking distance from the centre city mall in town. Kids are welcome to do the scavenger hunt and get cute stamps.

Puke Ariki is an incredibly informative and engaging museum that's a delight to explore. Inside, you'll find Te Takapou Whariki o Taranaki, an exhibit showcasing Māori culture—though photography isn’t allowed, it's a deeply enriching experience. The museum also features Taranaki Life, an insightful exhibit about the region's heritage. During our visit, there was an intriguing exhibition about the moon, which added to the experience. There’s also an i-SITE within the museum, making it a convenient stop for travel information. A must-visit for anyone exploring Taranaki!

Great atmosphere, tried 3 of the taco flavours and they were all delicious. Skillet cookie is banging! Nice variety of beers, I don't usually go for sours but the 'feelin blue' was 10/10. No table service, order at the bar and buzzers to collect your own food which takes it down a star for me.

Got the tacos was absolutely delicious, aioli was sour n off with the chips but otherwise good. Bar tender guy was awesome! Took some crazy critisism from an old man real well- deserves a pay rise i reckon. Atmosphere was lovely, def recommend :)

Visited this awesome Gastro Pub for dinner while holidaying in New Plymouth from Aus. Really cool vibe to the place, plenty of beers to choose from and food options should have everyone covered. We (couple) tried the lemon pepper wings, Fried chicken tacos and the cheeseburger loaded fries, 10/10 for all of them, could not fault any of our dishes. I tried 2 of the beers, hot rod smoke ale and the rain in my face IPA. Both good but preferred the hot rod. 100% give this place a go if you're in NP and looking for a cool place for a drink and bite to eat.

Long story short. It is a great place, quiet rooms and a good breakfast. Beds are too soft for me. I was waking up with low back pain and tossing and turning many times. If you are looking for a hotel to turn up anytime and park your vehicle, this is not the place for you. Here you will need to plan ahead or you will be parking on the street for a fee. I would score this hotel 4 out 5, but with the abovementioned it will be 2 out 5.

This is a great example of how excellent service can help cure some shortcomings. The rooms are ok, but there is more maintenance and upkeep required. The bathroom sink is very old, the bath itself a bit damaged, etc. And our AC wasn't working. BUT... every member of staff was warm, friendly and helpful. And the lady on the front desk moved us within 5 mins to a different room where the AC did work. So, whilst the rooms are ok, the service is above and beyond!

We are pleasantly welcome with welcome drinks and cold towel upon arrival. It is our first time to visit New Plymouth and the service staff was warm and hospitable. The room we stayed was very spacious and they even had a bathtub! It is accessible to the city area and we are given the room view facing the waterfront. We visited the restaurant 'Salt on the waterfront' and we are greeted warmly by Vivek who is the GM of the property and the restaurant manager. We had drinks and the fried chicken burger and it was delicious! We highly recommend this hotel to stay for families! Thank you for making our stay pleasant and memorable.

Juliana's Restaurant at Auto Lodge is a popular dining spot with a welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. The menu offers a variety of delicious dishes, such as lamb, steak, and burgers filled with flavorful ingredients. Guests appreciate the professional and friendly staff who ensure an enjoyable dining experience. While some find the prices on the higher side, many feel that the quality of food and service justifies it.
We were looking for dinner after climbing Mt Taranaki and booked last minute for a 9pm meal. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was super yummy as they had a new menu. We both had the Lamb, and it was very delicious. Yes its pricey, and the look is a bit schtick, but we were very comfortable and treated really well.

am not a professional food critic or anything… but I looove food 😁. Here’s what I thought about our dinner at Julianas Restaurant: Starter: Garlic Bread (Turkish loaf with garlic, butter & parsley) - Just okay. Two slices for $9 felt a bit steep. Flavour was buttery— not bad, but nothing I’d rush to order again. 5/10 Mains: Lamb Shank Slow-braised in red wine. Super tender and rich. The sweetness of the baby onions really complemented the dish. Comforting and well-balanced. 8/10 Angus Beef Cooked spot-on at medium rare with a nice char and garlic butter. The red wine jus tied it together nicely. Fries were crisp, but for $47, I expected a better veggie portion — just two slices each of broccoli and carrots felt a bit lazy. 7/10 Drinks: Jasper – tequila-based (can’t remember the rest of it) but we loved this one. Refreshing with a kick — would definitely order again. Negroni – gin-based. I love gin, I love martinis… but this? Not for me. Bitter, a little harsh, and just didn’t click. Wouldn’t order it again. Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding Moist, warm, and absolutely soaked in butterscotch sauce - paired with vanilla ice cream, it hit all the right notes. Classic, rich, and the best way to end the meal. 8.5/10

Stopped here to have breakfast after staying in the motel on site. Had an amazing breakfast and it was good value.

So disappointed to add such a poor review. The meal was great - good potion size, well cooked and delicious. However the experience was ruined by poor service an attitude from staff. The gaps between service were extremely long and no effort was made to check in on the dining experience. Staff had to be approached 45 minutes after finishing the mains for the table to be cleared. After another 20 minute wait it again required us approaching staff for a desert menu. 25 minutes later and no one had been to take the order, again requiring us to approach staff. The restaurant was about half full so none of this can be attributed to being busy. So disappointing that the service detracted from great food.

So far, this place has made the most delicious burger I have had in years. I recommend trying this beef burger full of fillings with a delicious radish kind of sauce. It was so filling. The price was okay and matched the food. Very worth it 👌

If you're in the mood for a delicious pizza experience, look no further than Domino's Pizza Fitzroy. This popular delivery and carryout chain offers an extensive selection of pizzas alongside a variety of other dishes and sides to satisfy any craving. Located on Sackville Street in New Plymouth, this spot stands out among its competitors for its exceptional customer service and commitment to quality.
10/10 food was really nice for a fast-food place, not just the pizza. Also, service was great and Yousef helped me out when my card was having issues, would recommend.
Nikau K — Google review
Absolutely terrible experience. I ordered three pizzas through the Domino’s app, which told me they were ready for pickup. When I arrived, they hadn’t even started cooking one of them. The staff told me my first two pizzas weren’t ready, but I could literally see them sitting there, boxed and cooked, while they lied straight to my face. To top it off, they rushed the last pizza so badly that it came out both burnt and undercooked at the same time. The other two were already cold by the time the last pizza was finished being cooked as well. If I could give zero stars, I would. Between the dishonesty, the terrible quality, and the wasted time, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a Domino’s. Definitely not coming back.
Rem S — Google review
Terrible experience. Worst customer service I have ever seen. Basic customer service is a joke for Dominos Fitzroy. Chicken pizza was handed to me along with my order instead of veg pizza ordered for Friday Family dinner. Called the store and Staff (Kush) asked to email the pictures of the pizza to his personal email address as no official email is available.Well pictures emailed with order confirmation, no reply. Called store for follow up and same person told me they are so busy and can’t look into my order now. Called end of the night and guy left the store and another staff told me that Kush is the manager and he will come back to me. Called next day and same excuse. I am done with u, been one week and still no reply. Wasted my money, they don’t bother if got wrong order or what. End of the night have to cook at home for veg family member. Wish I had option to give u negative stars

It has happened to us twice in a row we ordered pizzas few weeks ago and were served with wrong spicy sauce on all the pizzas. I did not complain thinking it could be a mistake. Today again we Ordered indian pizzas and they are just absolutely tasteless completely full of sauce toppings no flavour of anything except the sauce on top. I guess the team needs bit more training no matter u look at indian name please be mindful that people want quality not quantity. And not every Indian eat spicy food. Good luck team

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I honestly don’t understand how anyone could ever say a bad word about Domino’s Fitzroy – this store is hands down the best pizza experience in all of New Plymouth, if not the entire Taranaki region. Every single time I’ve walked through those doors, I’ve been greeted like family, and the level of service is unmatched. Just the other day I was served by Kush, and I have to say – his customer service is nothing short of legendary. He’s cheerful, polite, professional, and genuinely cares about making sure you leave happy. It’s rare these days to find someone who goes above and beyond like that, but Kush absolutely does. Now, let’s talk about the pizza, because that’s the real magic here. The bases are perfectly cooked every single time – crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, never soggy, never burnt. You can tell the team here takes pride in their work because it shows in every bite. The cheese? Melted to perfection, gooey, stretchy, and generously layered. The toppings? Always fresh, always plentiful. You don’t get those stingy sprinkle-sized toppings like some other places might do. No – here at Domino’s Fitzroy, they absolutely load up the pizzas, making sure every slice is bursting with flavour. And then there’s the price – honestly, it feels like they’re spoiling us. The deals are unbeatable. For example, the Buy One Get One Free deal on Tuesdays is practically famous at this point. Where else can you feed the whole family, or shout dinner for your mates, with two giant pizzas for the price of one? I’ve used that deal more times than I can count, and it never disappoints. Even outside of Tuesday, the value is incredible – it’s affordable without ever compromising on quality. The store itself is always spotless, well-run, and efficient. Orders are ready fast, whether you’re popping in to pick up or waiting for delivery. It’s clear the team here works hard to keep everything running smoothly, and it really shows. So, if you’ve ever seen a negative review about Domino’s Fitzroy, I’d say take it with a grain of salt – because my experience has been the exact opposite every single time. This store deserves nothing but praise for their outstanding pizzas, their unbeatable prices, and their world-class customer service (special thanks again to Kush for setting the gold standard!).

Product is fine, it's what you'd expect for Domino's in 2025. I'm let down by Dominos Fitzoy location today for instance described below. The time was exactly 11:11 AM, 41 whole minutes after opening. And I suspect the staff started earlier than the displayed opening sign I was in Fitzoy looking to get some food for a early lunch. Originally I wanted Dominos however at first glance the building was closed. I decided instead to visit a neighboring and more co$tly establishment and enjoyed my meal. I then walked to Dominos Fitzoy to find out the store was open. It was 41 minutes past opening and the chairs were still up, the open sign and flag was inside. The lighting was also very dark and from the road it looked like a "un-open dungeon" how I would describe the aesthetic. In future I think it's crucial simple things like this completed as daily tasks to ensure customers are aware they are able to spend their hard earned money at the establishment. I have attached photos, I put the chair down in the photo as demonstration to the employee how easy little things like this are. I suspect it would take no longer than 5 minutes to have the chairs down and " we are open " material (flag and sign) outside. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. It's my 2 cents and I hope it helps you succeed further in business. Cheers *** It appears I am unable to attach the photographs - I shall email these aswell as a copy paste of this email to the provided email address. *** I have since been able to attach photos. The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre is a contemporary art museum with an international reputation and reach. It was founded in 1970 and occupies the site of the former Regent Theatre, showcasing groundbreaking exhibitions and multi-sensory installations by local and international artists. The Len Lye Centre, opened in 2015, focuses on promoting contemporary art and the work of Len Lye.
This was a really innovative gallery - small but a delight. Hadn't come across much digital art before, so that as really cool, particularly given the fusion with traditional art practices, and the Pacific tapa exhibition made me really appreciate how much effort goes into that beautiful traditional practice - 15 years work for one mat for example! Amazing...

Went here on a rainy morning. For visitors it’s $15 each which is not bad. The exhibition was about Maori and Polynesian with their weaving and other stories to tell. The two lovely ladies were really accomodating and did a great job with explaining the art and story behind it. They also went beyond just that, expressing their opinions and views and really striking a conversation. I guess this is what art is about, it’s more than just the visuals. The place is spacious and well managed.

Small but mighty art gallery, very chill and feels great to be there, easily spend an hour or more. great place to visit especially on a rainy day. Located right in the centre of the town, next to the white hart hotel and a short walk from the centre city mall. Great interactive art work and craft areas for both the young and not so young. None New Plymouth residence will be charged a $15 admission. Super friendly staff, always keen to walk you through the art work, tell you about the artists, and discuss observations. Great experience, highly recommend.

2024: My gosh, that is one shiny building. One of the more striking buildings I've seen in NZ, which steals the spotlight from the exhibitions, as they pale in comparison. Most of the interior was rather empty, I guess with the focus on negative space..? The main art is the architecture.
Malcolm Y — Google review
The exhibition was of island weaving and print's, there was another exhibition too. It was very interesting to see up close these natural beautiful mats, hangings and the detailing. 7 ladies , took 7 months to create one hanging 😍

I do very much like the design of this building, it's very impressive. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are a few intresting galleries but not a huge amount and it doesn't take long to go through them ☺️

Not my cup of tea at all. This art gallery is a large building with a very small number of objects or pictures within a great deal of space. The objects and pictures weren’t even particularly interesting but maybe I’m not “cultured” enough to appreciate them. The museum down the road is far better.

A good Gallery to take some photos of both the Gallery itself And the exhibitions. A center to experience some very modern artifacts. Some of the areas were closed when I visited.so it seems quite small.

The Bowlarama Family Entertainment Centre offers great value family pass combos, particularly if you're interested in playing mini golf as well. They have kid-friendly ramps for bowling, which is helpful when you have young children. It's important to note that they only accept cash or EFTPOS, so keep this in mind if you plan to use a credit card. Worth $6.50 for Adult and stay as long as you need.

A really cool family friendly pool, something for everyone. Inflatables, rope swing, jumping ledge, wave pool, slides. We really liked the waves, would've been good if it'd turned on a bit more often. Pool was incredibly busy the day we visited, so much so that kids were constantly banging into us and I saw several times where kids had their inflatable boats practically on top of other people or kids- bit dangerous given pool is really deep. I don't recommend going on the hydroslide if you're even a couple kg over the weight limit- you'll shoot down it SUPER DUPER FAST!!!

Worst experience. Enrolled and paid $260 for both my children to learn to swim for the term. Waited 20 minutes and no instructor showed up! Then we were told my daughter wasn't even enrolled! Not a good first impression for swimming lessons for me and my children! My children were guttered as they were excited starting swimming lessons. Then i asked for my money back and the receptionist said she can't refund the money!! I have to go through the swim school!! I paid for a service I never recieved!! I won't be supporting this business again.

One of the best pools that I’ve been to in NZ. Inside pool has waves, climbing wall, loads of inflatables and foam squares. Outside has three pools, diving boards and a wonderful lap pool. And the cafe does incredible fresh chips. And all this for $4!!!! Seriously. $4 and kids under 8 are free. Oh, and loads of lifeguards which makes you feel very safe. Oh and two hydra slides. Amazing place and highly recommended.

Great pool facilities. We brought the u14 netball girls here to relax after a long tournament. They loved the slides and using inflatables with the wave pool. Only thing to be aware of is that the slides and wave pool turn off at 5pm.

I didn't like it, unsafe place for children, especially the hot pool. Please, rules must be established to protect them. I saw lonely men standing suspiciously close and looking at girls and boys, talking to them, without knowing them at all. Observe and you will realize quickly.

Chaddy's Charters is a long-standing tourist attraction in the Taranaki region, offering various exciting activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and island hopping. Established in 1993, this small business provides visitors with the opportunity to explore the picturesque Sugar Loaf Islands, located near New Plymouth. These volcanic remnants are uninhabited by humans but serve as a popular spot for seals to bask in the sun on the rocks.
Great experience! A little breezy but what’s the west coast without a little wind! Awesome time! Leave some spare clothes in your car because you may get a little damp! Great skipper! Awesome experience and really nice to see some seals too! Thank you Chaddy’s Charters.
Kayla P — Google review
This is a "must do" if you are in New Plymouth. Despite the sea being a bit angry the hour long trip to the islands provided views of the islands themselves, the seal colonies and marine views of New Plymouth with Mount Taranaki in the background. The team from the charter company are clearly very experienced and despite the rough sea very safety conscious. Our son was a bit seasick but that comes with the territory - didn't stop him wolfing down some fish and chips at lunch!

A "must do" when visiting New Plymouth. This unique boat trip is well worth the effort. We had quite a swell on the sea, but Tony navigated the boat so we were as comfortable as possible. Very safety conscious. Reasonably priced. New little seal pups in full view. Local and Maori history well explained. Two of my grandchildren got to have a wee turn "driving" the boat. An hour very well spent - thank you so much. This was our 3rd trip with Chaddys - loved it every time :)

Had a fab time with Chaddys charters on a weekend away in new Plymouth from Auckland. Great communication about booking and our skipper was brilliant, lots of local info and made sure both sides of the boat got to be close to the action of the bird colony, Seals and natural beauty of the islands. 1 hour out at sea was the perfect amount and nice to have the roof so you’re open to the sea breeze but no sun burn! On our tour was up from a baby to grandparents so perfect for every age. Definitely do when you’re the area!

Ringing and finding the best way to book our trip was easy and clear. The trip itself was amazing. Loved the evening trip, and the incoming misty weather added to the ambiance of the trip. History information was great. Sometimes it couldn't be heard if others were talking. Perhaps a written version could be made available to those who missed what was said - I had two hard of hearing teenagers with me. My son enjoyed being able to drive the boat on the way back in. I would recommend this trip to everyone.

Monica's Eatery is a must-visit spot in New Plymouth, offering a light and contemporary ambiance with friendly service. Located next to the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, it's an ideal place for brunch or lunch. Inspired by Monica Brewster, the founding patron of the gallery, this bustling cafe boasts a fresh and generous menu. One of their popular dishes is 'one egg on rye,' where you can choose from various delicious sides.
Such a yummy cute little spot for breakfast! Came here with my sister to work while we grabbed coffee and a few bites. Shared the walnut caramel bun, overnight oats, and the omelet with sausage. Everything tasted so beyond fresh. The omelette was such a unique taste with the pumpkin pieces and salsa verde. The tanginess in the yogurt in the overnight oats was well complimented by the sweetness of the honey and fruit. It was super creamy and we both loved it a lot! Would definitely come back and recommend.

Ben the sous chef is a champion. I needed to feed a bunch of people off site, so he made me some awesome brioche breakfast rolls to go. The client was stoked and so am I. Also Izy made a wicked good latte. Give these kids a raise 👍👍 11/10

Beautiful ambiance, love the hanging plants and great menu too. Coffee was good, not the best. Breakfast was delicious, I had the eggs on rye with mushrooms and cheese. Dish was well presented and looked beautiful. Eggs were perfectly runny and overall scrumptious. Didn’t have much to choose from the cabinet menu at 10am besides cake slice so a bit strange. Iced mocha was yummy but too small for my liking.

Nestled in the heart of the city, "Monica Eatery" exudes warmth and charm from the moment you step inside. The ambiance is a delightful blend of modern chic and rustic charm, making it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends. The coffee itself is a true delight, with each sip delivering a burst of rich flavor and invigorating aroma. Whether you're a fan of a classic espresso or prefer to indulge in a creamy latte, Monica Eatery has something to satisfy every palate. Beyond the beverages, the attention to detail in the decoration is evident. From the stylish furniture to the soothing color palette, every aspect of the design contributes to the inviting atmosphere. But the experience at Monica Eatery goes beyond just great coffee and aesthetics. The food offerings are equally impressive, with a diverse menu that caters to both breakfast and lunch crowds. From freshly baked pastries to hearty sandwiches, each dish is prepared with care and precision. And let's not forget about the staff. The team at Monica Eatery is not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly attentive. Fish & chips restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Nestled in the heart of New Plymouth, Catch & Co. is a culinary gem that offers a delightful dining experience without a traditional menu. Open from Monday to Thursday evenings, this spot is particularly renowned for its gluten-free options, making it a haven for coeliacs craving fish and chips. The local sourcing of their fish ensures freshness and quality, which has garnered rave reviews from patrons who appreciate both the taste and safety of their meals.
Just. Crazy. Good. Two fish tacos that were a little light on filling, so I was wanting another two! A beef burger that was bang on, and didn’t last long either. Potato fritters that were the best I’ve ever had ever. Chips that aren’t completely peeled give an earthly flavour which is just perfect. I believe the negative reviews are from troublemakers, because this order was 6 stars. I ordered from a food delivery app and reached a fantastic deal. Thank you so much Catch n Co

Have been here a few times. Excellent fish. Recently enjoyed fish taco. Did not like the hand cut chips. Premises need more attention to detail.

Our family ordered dinner tonight and drove from the other side of town to do so. We then waited 45 minutes for our order. The chips were brown, borderline soggy and not salted. They had run out of sausages, onion rings and cauliflower bites. Wouldn't go back nor recommend.

Wow, disappointed. Chips were dry and hardly hot. Texture like cardboard. Fish was tiny but acceptable tasting. Tartar sauce tasted off and scallop was worryingly jelly-like. Server seemed inconvenienced by our mere presence but we were the only ones there! Won't be back.

Just finished my meal from Catch & Co and I am extremely satisfied. The fish were perfect and very tasty and I really liked the fish tacos. Keep up the great work! I will definitely be ordering from Catch & Co again. 👍🏽

Wow. 2 small fish $13:00, Soggy chips $7:00. All up my hubby and I paid $58:50. My hubby wanted snapper and was told they had only Warehou. The best thing about it was the LP drink we bought. Will not be returning nor recommending

Not your usual fast food! Situated at the seafront , this restaurant slash takeaway boasts of the freshest seafood and vegetables. My salad tasted like homemade one, lemon fish was custom cooked in tempura, panko crumbs and pan fried for three of us. And you can always judge the fast food outlet by the quality of chips. Those were not greasy, but light with a pleasant crunchy surface and soft soul. Extremely attentive staff that made rad coffee for our very demanding group: “large naked cappuccino” and “large latte with half shot coffee”. And they nailed it! Thank you.

Went there today, first time since New ownership. Quality fish n chips at Ngamotu Beach, a bit on the pricey side for some things like $3 a battered prawn, $5 scoop of chips, however the serve size are decent and the fish was excellent. During the Covid drama they separated people instead of pushing back on the illegal mandates. Photos of menu with prices attached.

Cafe
Proof and Stock Coffee in New Plymouth has gained a devoted following for its delicious brew, which is roasted in a suburban garage. The roastery has become a beloved neighborhood hangout, and its coffee can also be enjoyed at Fork n Knife restaurant. This eatery offers a gourmet dining experience and is owned by friends of the coffee roasters. Additionally, visitors to New Plymouth should check out The Social Kitchen and Table at Nice Hotel for another exceptional culinary experience.
A great hole in the wall coffee shop. I had a very nice flat white. A steady flow of customers when I was there with lots of people buying their coffee beans. Note; this is what it says a coffee outlet, do not expect a full service cafe though they do sell some snacks. There is some limited seating both inside and immediately outside, you can also do as I did and take a walk down the road to the sea front.

It's an interesting, small, home roaster coffee shop, situated in a garage. The coffee was pleasant to drink with no bitterness. Overall a very drinkable espresso. Its not a café so don't expect the whole food side. Worth a visit to have a coffee and buy some beans.

Have had this place on my bucket list. Got to work in New Plymouth and the place I was staying in was 120 metres from here. First rate coffee and service. Had a great vibe too. Loved the fact its in an old garage. Cheers, I will be back.

Wow, what an experience from start to finish. We were greeted by the lovely and not to mention beautiful Claudia and Aleisha who were extremely hospitable. 2 flat whites appeared within minutes and they tasted next level. Honestly would recommend to anyone and everyone (even if you don’t drink coffee, the vibes were superb). I will be back!!

The coffees were absolutely beautiful. So hard to get a good coffee these days. But yes proof and stock have impressed me highly. 10/10 for sure thank you so much 😊 Atmosphere alone was 100/100 rating loved the vibes Next time I'm back there you will be my first stop

This is without a doubt the best flat white we've had in Taranaki! Everything was right, roast on the beans, tempof the coffee, crema - gorgeous! Fantastic independent roasters, really lovely team making the coffees and a great owner!
