To breakfast here again would be reason enough for another visit, though the cosy room with comfy bed and dormer window was its own recommendation. The absence of a TV was welcome (we watched the football on the screen at The Stump).
We couldn’t have enjoyed our meal more at the Merrijig. The T- bone was seasoned and prepared perfectly and the duck fat potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. From amuse bouche to the focaccia and wine selection, our meal was outstanding.

We could see the passion from the chef. The price was high for the amount of food we were served.
The staff could have been more attentive, drinks were charged but not received. Water not topped up without asking. I also noticed that serving staff had an extremely soiled bandaid on her thumb that was in very close proximity to my food.
We had a wonderful time staying overnight at Merrijig Inn. The food was excellent in the restaurant and all the staff couldn't do enough to accommodate us, we would thoroughly recommend staying at this querky, homely property . A fabulous experience !
