Simply wonderful. We had the pot stickers, Vietnamese summer rolls, chicken katsu, and pork lo mein. We had the opportunity to meet the owners who are very friendly and dedicated. Both are experienced with their asian/euro offerings having travelled, lived and worked in many venues in other parts of the world. The restaurant is small and welcoming, very reminiscent of those we've patronized in Japan and Vietnam, with the same "no rush" dining found in those countries. We look forward to going back.
Privileged to having been asked to an invitation-only service, we were treated to a 4-course set by Chef Michel and his wife Clarissa. Each course had a chef-paired wine that, excepting dessert, as the driver, I passed.
The starter was poke tartar and avocado which was an absolute delight as raw fish in Prescott is a gamble, at best. Absolutely on point.
Our second course was Cajun mahi mahi with polenta. Not going to lie here. The fish was fresh, albeit way over cooked. Too bad as the seasoning was pleasant, and the polenta superb.
Course #3 was fabulous. Beef tenderloin with a raspberry sauce. I must say that I found this combination to be exceptional. Tenderloin is so lean that it's easily rendered dry, but Chef Michel delivered a home run for me on this one. It's a bit hyperbolic to say that it melted in my mouth, but it was close.
We finished up with a beautiful raspberry tart with egg custard accompanied by a bit of port. A lovely finish.
It was a wonderful service, although the server helping Clarissa could benefit from training. The gentleman was a complete delight: pleasant, friendly. However, he needs to learn that you don't set another table's dirty dishes on my table...or the serving tray, as well. Also, don't hand the customers' drink to them while touching the rim of the glass - set it while holding the base. Again, very nice, welcoming, and well-mannered, man. He just needs some training.
Overall, I hope that this wasn't a one-off as I'd come back again, and again.
If you have yet to be here for their regular service, and you're a fan of Torme, Atmesfir, and Essence. I urge you to give them a try. 🤗
