A Disappointing Stay: real review
Lack of Management, Poor Hospitality, and Unsuitable Conditions
Our recent stay was extremely disappointing, characterized by poor management and a complete lack of hospitality. We chose this property after explicitly inquiring with management about the weather, given we were traveling with an infant and a toddler and were unaware of monsoon conditions in the region (being from Australia).
Management failed to disclose the severe weather, which we believe was a deliberate omission to secure our booking. Upon arrival, it was raining heavily, and there were no provisions for families, leading to our infant and toddler falling ill.
The property offered no amenities or organized activities to engage children and families. There was no music, no bonfire, and a general absence of efforts to create a welcoming environment.
The room itself presented several issues. We were unable to open the windows due to the heavy rain, and the balcony was impractical, offering no space for seating or even standing.
Furthermore, the common occurrence of monkey attacks meant doors and windows had to remain shut, severely limiting ventilation.
Safety was a significant concern.
The stairways and the path to the restaurant were extremely slippery, posing a considerable risk to elderly guests, toddlers, and infants. Additionally, the electricity was highly unstable, with power outages occurring every 2-4 minutes, which is a major concern.
Our ability to explore the local area was also severely hampered. Due to the incessant rain and blocked roads, we were unable to access the market or any other nearby attractions.
Overall, our experience was incredibly negative. This hotel is only suitable if your sole intention is to eat and sleep; otherwise, we strongly advise seeking alternative accommodation.
Additional Critical Issues
It's important to note that this property is an independent entity and not part of the Citrus Group, as we initially understood. This misrepresentation is concerning.
Unresponsive to Our Needs
Perhaps the most disheartening aspect was the management's complete lack of empathy. We requested an early checkout and a partial refund based on the dire conditions and our family's illness, appealing to their humanity. Our request was flatly refused, with management citing their policies. This refusal, given the circumstances, was a major letdown and a stark demonstration of the complete absence of hospitality.
