I understand some of the negative reviews, however we have stayed at this resort 6 times and we have loved it, we understand this is not a top-of-the-line resort, but our rooms were nice and clean, the service was good, the staff are fabulous. It is in walking distance to the malacon, the beach is clean, we love the beach bar. If you want a resort that is glamourous this is not the place, if you want a resort that is friendly and comfortable this is the place to go. We will go back in April of 2026. Can't wait
Carlos, the door man, or maybe he was a bellboy, is what saved this review from being a 1 or 2. Well also the other older desk man, was good to. They made sure to find me room that was not set at 25 degrees, im Canadian, we need 16-18, lol.im grateful for these two bc without ac im not a happy diva. The room seemed like an upgrade until I discovered, the room smelled like sour meat cooking soon as breakfast started. The patio doors did not lock. Im like whatever I will live, as long as the room is cooler. The food was tastey, and ok options, the mini steak at lunch, the desserts, and the fruit, were fabulous!!! The breakfast if your allergic to eggs, be sure to pack protein shakes or bars, bc this resort caters to locals, not Canadians.
I am a 2spirited, gay native american, with pretty pedicure, painted nails, and forva resort who states its #lgbtqi2s open, not only other guest but servers struggled with my presence. I strongly suggest if your from our rainbow community do not stay here.
In the end I got what I paid for, overall I should have paid for a 5 star all adults not the 4 star priced, when really it should be listed as a 3 star.
So when asked if I would go back, the answer is no.
We were completely misled by the website and glowing reviews. This resort was the very definition of false advertising.
Upon arrival, we faced a long check in line with only two overwhelmed staff members. It took nearly an hour to check in, but we didn’t receive access to our room until almost two hours later. In the meantime, we tried to get food it was cold, covered in flies, and the meat seemed questionable at best. The drinks were just sugar water, nothing like what they were supposed to be.
When we finally entered our “oceanfront” room, it was a complete letdown. The door didn’t lock, there is no central air conditioner. mosquitos were everywhere, the bed sheets had sand in them, and only one electrical outlet worked. To make things worse, the bathroom had loose glass a serious safety hazard.
Our friends staying above us had similar complaints. That plus their bathroom didn’t even work. We tried to call the front desk multiple times but no one picked up. We had to call the outside line. When we asked for help, we were told nothing could be done until “multiple complaints” were received. The staff were rude, dismissive, and condescending throughout.
While we waited for someone to inspect our room, we went to the pool which turned out to be dangerous too. I scratched my leg on broken tile. When my friends asked for towels, they were told there were none available even though we could clearly see towels behind the counter. It was 7pm and the pool didn’t close until 9pm… I don’t understand how an all inclusive resort runs out of towels two hours before the pool closes.
The final straw was bats screeching overhead by the bridge from the pool to the jacuzzi. That night, none of us slept. In the morning, we approached the front desk again, and we were spoken down to and told to pay and leave immediately. We agreed to pay for the one night we stayed, we packed our things, and then left.
There are probably more things I’ve blocked out because of how terrible the experience was. I’m just grateful we left when we did. Avoid this place at all costs!!
