We stayed here for four nights recently and really liked it. Our room was great and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The free drinks station in Reception was welcome; tea, coffee, juices and water were all available. We had a couple of meals in the restaurant and they were fine. Good, friendly service. The hotel is a short walk from the main street in San Pedro.
The rooms are shockingly small and feel more like cramped storage closets than proper accommodations. At night, the cold is unbearable. You’re given a tiny electric heater that doesn’t work, and worse, the windows don’t fully close some even have actual holes in them, letting in all the freezing air.
For two nights, there was no running water at all. When the water finally came back, there was no hot water and barely any water pressure just a trickle from both the sink and the shower.
This place is all aesthetics and no function. It’s clear that the owners invested in a good photographer, not in basic infrastructure. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere unless you enjoy freezing, not showering, and being misled.
I stayed at this hotel in San Pedro de Atacama for four nights and overall had a very good experience. The location is excellent—just a short walk from the center of San Pedro, which made it easy to explore the town and join tours.
The breakfast was another highlight: generous, fresh, and a great way to start the day before heading out to discover the desert.
The staff was friendly and helpful, making the stay comfortable and welcoming.
That said, there were a couple of small drawbacks. The bathroom was quite small, which at times made it a bit uncomfortable. Also, there weren’t many electrical plugs in the room, which can be inconvenient if you’re traveling with several devices.
Overall, though, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives, and I would recommend it for travelers looking for a well-located hotel in San Pedro with good service and breakfast.

Consider booking larger rooms if traveling as a couple due to some smaller room sizes
Take advantage of the free coffee and water available at reception around-the-clock
Arrange for packed breakfast if going on an early tour pick-up to ensure you don't miss out on meals
If sensitive to cold temperatures or visiting during colder months, inquire about heating options in advance due to potential issues mentioned by some guests

Some reviewers enjoyed their stay with great rooms, friendly staff, and excellent location close to town. However, others found the rooms extremely small with no space for luggage storage, lack of hot water or water pressure at times, and issues with room amenities like heating. Fantastic hotel!
We arrived early, when the room was not yet ready for check-in. But the staff provided us with the possibility to have a shower already (including towels, shower gel etc), since we didn't have one the day before in Bolivia, cold water there...
In both rooms a (375 ML) bottle of Brut was waiting for us, nice surprise.
Rooms and beds were quite fine.
Breakfast was good.
The day we checked out, we left San Pedro only in the evening. So we had a tour to Moon Valley in the morning and an activity in the afternoon. Still, before leaving the hotel (and while checked out already earlier that day), they again gave us the possibility to have a shower before continuing our trip in the evening.
Very friendly and supportive personnel!
Location is quite fine, about five minutes walk to the 'main' street.
It was a great time staying in Don Tomas. The best part of this hotel is that they offer washing services. As a long distance traveler, this washing service really helped me to focus on my travel more. Another great service is the water fountain at the front gate, which not only me but also my travel group enjoyed a convenient refill whenever in a rush to the next spot.
