An absolute no-go. The rooms are old, poorly maintained, and reek of stale mattresses, vomit, dampness, and overused towels. Upon arrival, the corridor stench was so overwhelming we almost walked out immediately. When we raised our concerns with our tour organizer, the hotel manager came to argue instead of addressing the issue. His defense? 'There are people stranded in locals' homes, at least you have a room!' He even went on to casually mention that a guest had vomited on a mattress, which someone had tried to burn—how is that our problem, and why were we still expected to pay full room charges?
To make matters worse, guests were approached during breakfast and asked to pay full room charges, including extra mattress fees, well before check-out time.
We were charged extra for additional mattresses but weren’t provided with heated ones, despite freezing temperatures (-4 to -6°C). There was an AC in the room, which had to be put on the highest temperature, to use as a room heater, which kept failing due to frequent electricity outages. When I questioned the charges, the manager dismissed it with, 'It’s your problem you didn’t use the mattress we provided.' After confronting him about the missing heated mattress, he argued with his staff, realized his mistake, promised to resolve it, and then blatantly lied about leaving to consult the owner. An employee revealed he was still at the hotel, and when confronted via phone, the manager hung up. Unsurprisingly, we never got our money back.
We ended up crammed on a small, damp, foul-smelling bed in a dimly lit, freezing room.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place entirely.
To give credit where it is due, the owner of the hotel helped the guest who was allocated the room with the vomit and moved them to a different property he owned. He also gave them a lift to that property himself. I wish the staff was better trained!
