Very comfortable room and kind hotel staff. They prepare a box of meal for breakfast as I checked out very early. Wifi is very stable and speedy. Able to take hot shower and can borrow a hair dryer at the front.
Scam with the price – be extremely careful!
We booked this place for $57.60 USD, but at checkout we were forced to pay 1008 BOB, which is around $147 USD at the official exchange rate – almost triple the original price.
At first, the host insisted that card payment wasn’t possible and demanded cash in USD. Only after we saw the card terminal ourselves, they admitted they could take card – but only in BOB, and at an unfair exchange rate.
They claimed to use their “own rate,” which had never been mentioned before.
This happened while our taxi was already waiting to take us to the airport, so we had no time to argue or look for alternatives.
This felt like a deliberate scam and a trap.
Avoid this place unless you want to be overcharged, manipulated and stressed just before your flight.
Well I have mixed feelings about this hotel.
It has a great location, 3 mins walk to the main avenue where most travel agencies companies sit. Staff are very friendly (some of them), however the room is freezing cold, they said the heater will be on after 5:30pm but it doesnt help much. Luckily, on request they give us a movable towngas heater (have to open the window for ventilation tho)
The major drawback would be a disco just opposite to the road, it opens at around 12:00am to like 3-5am, very very loud music and DJ and people yelling. We had a difficult time to take a good rest after a day of salt flat tour. So if you are very sensitive to noise, try to avoid this hotel or request a room facing inward to reduce noise.
But overall, apart from the noise, everything was fine, the breakfast is delicious.

Avoid booking issues by confirming prices in advance and ensuring clarity on payment methods
Request a room facing inward to reduce noise from nearby establishments if sensitive to loud music at night
Arrive early or leave luggage for storage as staff are accommodating with early check-ins/outs
Enjoy stable wifi connection throughout your stay
Reviews
Hostal La Magia de Uyuni is praised for its comfortable rooms, kind staff, stable and speedy wifi, hot showers, and the option to borrow a hair dryer. Guests appreciate the excellent breakfast with fresh fruit, made-to-order eggs, coffee or tea, cold cuts, and bread. The service is friendly and accommodating while the location is convenient for tours. However, there are mixed feelings about noise levels due to a nearby disco. Despite this drawback, guests find the hotel clean with heating in rooms during winter.

We stopped over in our way to San Pedro de Atacama. We arrived early (7.30 am) in the morning and the staff was super helpful letting us leave our luggage in storage until our room was ready. When we returned, the staff had already put our luggage in our room 😄. Breakfast is included and was very good, plenty of fruits and fresh orange juice. The hotel is clean and perfectly located. There is heating in the rooms which is a must during winter. We had a great stay.
We had a wonderful time at this lovely hotel in the heart of Uyuni. The manager was very gracious and allowed us to check in at 8:15am with no extra charge.
The breakfast the next morning was excellent with fresh fruit, made to order eggs (scrambled or fried), fresh coffee or tea, cold cuts, an assortment of bread, etc.
The service was so friendly, the room was clean, had hot water, heat, and was perfect for stay in Uyuni!
