Great park with killer views of the Pacific and sea stacks. Unfortunately, it basically shares a parking area with a waste treatment plant - but don't let that deter you. The walk is well worth it.
Surprised and delighted by this hidden gem! Park in the marked parking area by the water treatment plant and follow the path through the fence and around the side of the complex for incredible views and a fun walk up to the point. Great flora and fauna. The path is paved and wide enough for two to pass each other but there are no fences or anything so you do need to be careful in rough weather. You can certainly feel the wind up there!
Wonderful little park behind the water treatment plant. A little confusing to find, but absolutely gorgeous. The dog park is nearly impossible to spot and is on the slower side of things. It only has fencing on three sides but theres a thick hedge where there isn’t fence and our dog didn’t notice. Very gorgeous!

Know before you go

  • Visit during low tide for better access to the beach and tide pools
  • Stay on designated trails to avoid poison oak that can be found throughout the park
  • Take caution near edges as there are steep drops at Chetco Point
  • Consider visiting in summer when wildflowers bloom along the trails

Despite the proximity to a wastewater treatment plant, visitors are enchanted by the easy hike up to Chetco Point with surprises like art installations and paved trails leading to breathtaking views. My dog and I walked out here early in the morning. We walked up the path onto the rock. As we started walking back out my dog looked to the left and started to try running while looking into the brush. I could hear something walking along us in the brush but couldnt see what it was. I started yelling and throwing my arm up and then heard it take off. Its a beautiful place but my experience was scary. I wasnt going to post but I know this will help people be aware. I have a small dog too. This happened october 13th

Once you get past the wastewater plant the walk it stunning! Go up to the top of the point(steep incline!) or sneak off to the left down the trail to a secluded spot with tons of driftwood. Shhhh don’t ruin it!
