Gaspe, Birthplace of Canada, is a cluster of historic buildings on the waterfront across from Place Jacques-Cartier. It operates as a living-history museum depicting Gaspe village around 1900 with interpreters in period costume. The place tells the story of trade, fishing, wooden architecture, and immigration that shaped the village and ultimately Canada. Visitors are immersed in the simple design that narrates the birth of Canada.
