We had an amazing stay at Mon Repo. The service is very very good. Upon arriving Sakis, the host, had already remembered our names and nationality and greeted us in our own language. He sat us down, gave us a drink and pulled out a map and starting noting down the most important information we needed for our trip. He gave us points of interest, activities, restaurants and also told us of some things which were better to be ignored. We were of course free to do what we wanted, but I appreciated the tips from someone who knows the island a lot better. We actually visited one of his favourite spots on the island and the view was spectacular and very much worth the drive. Restaurants that were recommended were good and had plenty of options, they gave us a great table upon mentioning Mon Repo, so definitely use that! The private pool at our room was amazing, no words. That's what vacation should be like.
A little further down the road is the general pool and poolbar. There you can get simple, but tasty food for a great price. Across the road is a restaurant Akropolis where you can have a good meal for a decent price (compared to the rest of the island).
The breakfast that was included was served at the poolbar and it was massive, definitely bring an appetite because it is a lot. There was toast with jam, eggs, cake, another sweet treat, fresh fruit, yoghurt and cheese and ham. a cup of coffee and an orange juice every morning. I naturally gained some weight, but it was very tasty and a good way to start the day. It usually lasted us almost throughout the day and towards dinner. Quick note, if you are vegetarian, they bring you ham and cheese on the same plate and they touch. If you don't like that, you will have to mention to them every day to separate them or to leave out the ham.
Sakis and his family are very friendly and are there for you, you are made to feel welcome and at home and if there is anything you can approach them. Luckily we hardly needed the service, but it was nice to have. Upon arriving there's the option to buy some bottle of water for the trip, to save you the hassle of walking to a supermarket. There was enough for our entire stay and one bottle was already cold in the fridge. Simply excellent!
Please not that hotel is close to Laganas Road, which is the main road with lots of clubs, bars and tourist shops. It's about 5 to 10mins walking distance. About 15m to the beach where there are some nice bars/restaurants to drink a cocktail.
We had a very good time and would recommend Mon Repo, especially because of the service and hospitality provided by Sakis and his family. And of course because of the private pool ;)
