Casa Terracota, located on the outskirts of Villa de Leyva, is a unique and quirky attraction. It is known as the world's largest ceramics structure and was originally conceived by architect Octavio Mendoza Morales as his primary residence. The building project aims to harmoniously merge architecture, design, and other arts and crafts using earth, air, water, and fire to transform fired clay into architecture.

The artistic value behind this insane sculpture is mind blowing. Appreciated deeply seeing this monument today and although the entry is not cheap, it is well worth it. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, as I said the entry is well worth it and pictures do not do justice
When you visit you'll understand why. Highly recommended 💛
Straight out of a Tim Burton movie. Monsters turned into home features (don't miss the fireplace). Creepy crawlies fashioned from steel descending from the ceiling. Infinite bizarre details that will leave you smiling for days.
It was both incredible and inspiring. I was left wondering how many times the artist wanted to quit in the process of constructing what to some seemed probably mostly bizarre and maybe even impossible.
You can walk around and inside this amazing earthship for hours and you'll never catch every detail.
It's haunting, mystifying, and worth every peso and second.
You have to see this with your own eyes, this is incredible, we went through the house three times to be able to memorize the many many details. Mind boggling how the architects idea became truth following ancient traditions to prove that building a healthy house in clay in possible.
Enjoy!!

Visitors are amazed by the unique design, knowledgeable staff, and the worthiness of the entry fee. The house is described as haunting, mystifying, and filled with infinite bizarre details that leave guests smiling for days. It's an inspiring place to visit in a small town setting away from the hustle of Bogotá.

We all loved walking through the Terracota house! It is such a unique house with intricate colored mosaic that reminded me of Gaudi’s park in Barcelona. Every room offers stunning details, along with artwork. Very cool!
Very cool place to see and enjoy the unique architecture. You have full access to all the rooms and rooftop. There are bathrooms outside where the ice cream hit is.
