The meat is exceptionally fresh, although those averse to its distinctive flavor may want to avoid the steaks. It is one of my favourite places in the Midlands! I've been visiting it in the last few years, and I was very pleased on my recent trip back to discover it has maintained good service and amazing quality in meals and beverages. The main reason I love the spot is the view, the greenery of the Midlands, and the amazing range of cows wandering around! You definitely need to go to the bathrooms. Make a reservation to avoid any disappointment, the restaurant is only open on Friday to Sunday, however if you are in the area on a different day and want to have a look around and walk through, the staff have always been accommodating to show you around and will probably suggest having something at the neighbouring Blueberry cafe (definitely worth a try too, and order the famous Blueberry cheesecake).
My friends and I came through for lunch/brunch and we had made a reservation. The service was a bit slow, as we waited close to 20mins to get a waitress to assist us. We further waited another +/- 20 mins for our drinks. The good food really made up for the wait as it was goooood! Would definitely request a more hands on and attentive staff. Besides that glitch, the place has an amazing atmosphere, good food and aesthetically pleasing.
Steaks are quite delicious, basted with their own bbq sauce. The smoked brisket I tasted also really good. The burger and wings were okay too. Great venue in the midlands, really nice lunch experience. Been there more than once and on all occasions the food was great. The toilet and washrooms are a must see while you there. The kitchen though is really slow, with service also lacking, and this is my only gripe about this place.

Make a reservation in advance due to limited opening days (Friday to Sunday)
If visiting on other days, ask staff for a tour as they are accommodating
Try out neighboring Blueberry Cafe for more dining options
For families, consider going earlier before it gets too busy or festive

Had an overall pleasant experience the restaurant. My Medium rare steak could have been better, I found it to be chewy.
Loved the lamas on show and the atmosphere was amazing.
I love the aesthetic of the place as well as the underground cellar showcasing some fine wines.
I wished there were more quality Stellenbosch red wines to choose from to pair with the steak.
Fantastic spot for lunch out on the Midlands Meander. The food is terrific and the views of the pastures of Wagyu and alpacas really add to the experience. We always come here when I’m back to visit family in South Africa. Blueberry cafe is right next door and is just as lovely but I find service to be slightly better (staff more attentive) at F&C.
