I just arrived in Coyhaique and have already enjoyed two meals at Basilic Bistrot, the finest restaurant I've encountered in Chile. Their culinary magic is evident in their vegan offerings, such as chantilly cream and chocolate mousse, which are dairy-free. If only I could transport this remarkable dining experience with me! The restaurant also impresses with its diverse tea selection and delectable ice creams. Surprisingly delightful was the fried rice infused with unexpected algae.

My buddy and I decided to try this location as he is vegan and I’ll eat anything.
This place did not disappoint. The food was delicious and filling, we ended up coming here twice in one day. I highly recommend it!
I had the pleasure of dining here today, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy yet modern vibe. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and more than happy to guide me through the menu.
The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the seitan, and it was packed with flavor, textures, and a perfect balance of spices. As someone who’s been vegan for a while, it’s always refreshing to find a restaurant that gets it right, and it truly does. Every bite was a delight. The portions were generous, and I loved that the ingredients were fresh and locally sourced.
They also had a great selection of drinks and desserts – I highly recommend the brownie, it was the perfect way to end the meal.
Whether you’re vegan or just looking to try something new, I highly recommend checking out this place. I’ll definitely be back!
The go-to vegan spot for anyone visiting Coyhaique! Came here twice in one day just so I can try more of their menu before leaving this town. I tried the Seitanesa and La Tremenda; both delicious. My only regret is not trying more dishes while I was here. Pictured: Chorillana Vegan

I just got to Coyhaique and I've already had two meals here. I can't eat dairy and this is the best restaurant I've visited in Chile. Vegan chantilly cream, vegan chocolate mousse... I don't know how they do it but it's magic. I wish I could take this restaurant back to the US with me! Sorry about the photos, my spoon made it to the dishes before my camera did. Enjoy!
love this place!! owned by a french guy so it’s a. proper french café. brunch (i think) is only on sundays? really nice vegan selections on the menu. a burger or buddha bowl are great choices. lots of drinks to choose from. fresh baked sweets/muffins, etc. def recommend the matcha latte!!!!! only thing is the girls working there sometimes slack off when the managers around but you can stay and use the wifi as much as you want :)
