The zoo São Carlos Ecological Park is a cost-free, expansive green area with dense vegetation. There are various food and toy vendors near the entrance. Lovely place to visit in São Carlos. Free entry. We spent 2 hours wandering around enjoying the beautiful surroundings which are really well maintained. Very tranquil slice of nature on the outskirts of the city. The animals and birds were lovely to see but the enclosures for most of them were too small which is unfortunate and should be addressed. Great place to bring kids and they have just built a lovely new playground.
Great atmosphere, free admission, good place to see south America origin animal.
My kids adore this place. It could benefit from investment, as there are empty displays and incomplete signage, but the location is beautifully wooded, the animals are interesting and exotic, and the kid's park is great. Worth every visit if your family is into this sort of place.

Highly recommend this Zoo/Ecological Park. Animals are all indigenous to Brazil and South America, which gives a great insight into the culture and wildlife. Very family friendly with all animal named in English/Portuguese. Free Entrance
You can be there and watch wild animals , but you will see them very close and that's awesome.
