Smokin' on the Boulevard

Appearances can be deceiving. You might think this place is on fire. When open there is a small smokey fire burning out front of the business to send a signal to passing customers. I suggest you stop. Great things of the culinary kind can be found.

I've eaten here 4 or 5 times. They have consistently great food. The ribs are the best, bologna is fantastic, and chicken can't be beat. My in laws live in the area and I always ask for them to pick some up before my family gets to the house.

Incredibly delicious! I live 2 hours away and whenever I visit Florence I make it a point to try to visit Smokin' on the Boulevard - it's so good I have even been known to plan my whole trip around being sure I am in town on the days they are open. The smoked chicken is amazing and the dry rub ribs are absolutely perfect. The whole butt is enough to feed a family. And be sure to try the smoked cabbage! It is without a doubt my favorite BBQ joint!

Smoking on the Boulevard has now CLOSED / OUT OF BUSINESS FOR NOW due to Highway 72 Road expansion buying out their location. Their equipment has been removed and as of now I don't know of a future location. I hope that they relocate and reopen at some other location but as for now they are closed and it's a great loss for barbeque lovers. Smoking on the Boulevard offered take out and although the menu is somewhat limited they excel at cooking great tasting BBQ. Everything is just so good it's tough to pick a favorite. The smoked Chicken was the best and the Alabama white sauce is a must. I don't {or didn't} like the white sauce but theirs was unbeatable and I can't get it without the white sauce now. Their BBQ cabbage head might turn some off thinking about cabbage but if so then it's your loss because the flavor of the cabbage head is beyond words. Smokin on the Boulevard is for some hard to find, not looking like your traditional restaurant but your biggest problem will be getting what you want before it's sold out. This place is a must for any BBQ affectionato to try but come on Thursday, Fridays or Saturdays because their closed on the other days and usually sell out by 6:30-7:00 pm or so each day they are open.

Still in search of an outstanding place to eat Bar-B-Q I went over to Smokin on the Boulevard to give them a try. After conversation with the owner he informed me if his ribs werent the best around he would give me my money back. I ordered a full rack of ribs, a whole chicken and a head of cabbage. I drove home to Muscle Shoals and had to watch where I put my hands. EVERYTHING was still very hot. Plenty of meat on the ribs, that were moist and seasoned just right. The chicken was moist and tasty. I like my white sauce more watery not like pudding but I make my own so thats not an issue. The cabbage was seasoned very well too. I highly recommend Smokin on the Boulevard. You cant go wrong. Went back today to try the Brisket. It was juicy and seasoned just right. We have found our Bar B Q spot.
