Music was a bit loud, unfortunately limiting the forest immersive experience. Loads of flies when lunch is served, so carry repellent with you. Amazing environment, very professional and friendly staff.
Well, it’s a place in the middle of Chapada dos Veadeiros, an iconic place in central Brazil. And yeah, this local chef opened this place in the middle of the bush for aesthetic. Drinks are too
sweet, food is mid with very low technique, as fried stuff comes dripping with oil, can’t properly fry an egg and such. Service is funny. It takes over an hour for the food to come, but managers come every 30 minutes to ask if everything is ok. Well, it is not, and then they tell you that it takes over an hour for the food to come and that’s it. So yeah. Prices are on par with São Paulo. The best part are the cool dogs that run aimlessly throughout the restaurant.
Perhaps I had high expectations from what I heard of this restaurant. I left the place disappointed! The food is great, but it is not something unique that justifies the time it requires me to take there through a rough, dusty road and the over-expensive dishes. I would suggest them create a day experience by taking tourists to a river that crosses the property with a lunch or dinner option

Carry insect repellent to combat flies during meal times
Be prepared for potentially high prices for meals compared to other options in Chapada
Consider visiting during weekdays or less busy periods to avoid long wait times
Check if there are any additional fees or charges not mentioned upfront before dining

Na Mata Chapada - Terra, Alimento e Calor is described as a magical and secluded place in the middle of nature, close to waterfalls. Reviewers highlight the attentive staff, delicious dishes, beautiful green areas for exploration, and superb food quality. However, some negative reviews mention loud music limiting the immersive experience, flies during lunchtime requiring repellent, high prices for dishes without unique offerings justifying the journey on rough roads. Despite mixed opinions on pricing and service speed, most visitors praise the ambiance and natural setting of Na Mata.

Na Mata is a wonderful place. Set in the woods, you drive down a winding dirt road, then walk into this oasis of music, beautiful scenery and superb food. All of the staff and owners (including a very talented chef) are super friendly. This place is rustic and you are in the woods so there are a few oddities but it's well worth going out of your way to enjoy this lovely place. The food is superb, well prepared, well presented. Highly recommended.
