We have made a few trips into the Boonoo Boonoo National Park for picnics and especially to sit very quietly near the Platypus Hole pond which has severl playtypus. If everyone is quiet there is a good chance of seeing them on the surface but it takes a bit of patience. And it is worth to see them. This is a great place for waking and a picnic. I was lucky to with photos and there are a couple of playtpus present on the surface.

Well worth the drive in from Tenterfield, picnic area and toilets are well maintained. Spectacular views down through the gorge and waterfalls cascading down the side. There is a large pool at the top that you can swim in tho we did not as it was cold a a little discoloured from all the recent rains and bushfires in the area. Still well worth it for a drive and a sausage on the BBQ.
