This place is the entrance to the Etoshi National Park. Here, you cannot make a payment, but you get just a paper to make yourself allowed for the entry. And you need to pay the amount at the Namutoni entrance, where you need to drive 44 kilometers with the bumpy road, which is big fun. You do not need necessarily 4x4, but 4x4 is highly recommendable.
This gate is now very beautiful. So attractive and very good background when taking pictures.
If I stay near I could be taking pictures from here..
Like this gate a lot, fast and friendly. Just around 10km down the road there is a Lions pride (-18.5516688, 16.8043724). If you are there around 8am you have a good chance of seeing some lions. Forget going during the day, go early or late afternoon.

Consider leaving personal rifles behind as they are not allowed in the park; surrender them at the police station if necessary
Avoid carrying plastic carrier bags as they are prohibited within the park premises
For a more convenient visit to Onkoshi or nearby lodges, plan your route accordingly due to payment restrictions at King Nehale Gate
If traveling from Omuthiya or aiming for Etosha King Nehale Lodge, utilize this gate for easy access despite having to pay fees at Namutoni later
Reviews
King Nehale Gate serves as the entrance to Etosha National Park, offering a seamless registration process with friendly staff. While you cannot pay entrance fees at this gate, it provides easy access for visitors coming from Omuthiya or those heading to Etosha King Nehale Lodge. The gravel road leading to Namutoni adds an adventurous element to the journey, and although a 4x4 vehicle is not mandatory, it is highly recommended. Additionally, travelers appreciated the cultural significance of Regalia tool and found security measures strict but reassuring.

Staff at this gate are very helpful and kind. This gate is ideal for use by people coming from the side of Omuthiya or those intending to enter the park from Etosha King Nehale Lodge. However, you cannot pay park entrance fees at this gate, you have to drive on gravel to Namutoni which is 44 km away. This is only a challenge if you are planning on going to Onkoshi or other nearby lodges. But if you are going to Halali and other lodge at the other sides of the park you are sorted coz you have to drive all the way from Namutoni to get to those lodges.
One thing that I learned is that you are not allowed to enter the National park with any personal riffle, you have to surrender it to the police station and pick up on your out. So if you are planning on driving through the park using different gates you may consider leaving your riffle home coz it means then that you cannot enter from one gate and exit at the other coz you will need to pick up your riffle. But if you don't mind leaving it there for a prolonged period you can do that.
