Initially planned to stay 2 nights and that became 5 nights. The staff is polite, rooftop is amazing and beds/rooms were good. It’s close to everything also. The bathrooms could have a little renew but they worked properly and were clean.
Let's say you have a night bus. Most hostels will be cool and won't charge you for the day while you wait for the bus. They will charge you to use their facilities! The lady lost her cool with me during the discussion of the "day rate". Also, they don't accept credit cards (it's 2024 credit cards were introduced in the 1950s). Good view of the city though to make up for rude owners. Edit* Then the owner comes on here to argue with me. Really shows their true colors. Go somewhere else.
The staff is amazing, they are very nice and helpful. There are 2 kitchens, and many bathrooms, which were very clean at any time of day. The only thing that need to give more attention is to the access to the upper bed. There no latter só you need to be fit to climb UP.

Reviews
Covacha Hostel in Salta, Argentina, offers a mix of positive and negative experiences according to reviews. While some guests praise the polite staff, amazing rooftop terrace with city views, clean facilities including fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms, and fair exchange rates for currency; others have had unfortunate encounters with bed bugs leading to discomfort and disagreements with management. Despite these issues, the hostel's beautiful setting and reasonable prices make it an attractive option for travelers seeking budget accommodation in Salta.

Quite a nice hostel. Stayed here for two nights and was almost the only guests. Showers were okay. Receptionists were very kind and helpful. You can exchange dollars here for an honest (current) rate. There's an amazing book exchange in this hostel. Kitchen had everything you need. The hostel was generally quite clean. My room had four beds and didn't offer too much privacy but was fine. There's a great roof terrace for relaxing. I paid about 2500 pesos a night. Recommended!
