We stayed 6 nights at the Ritz-Carlton Sanya with Club Level access and had such a relaxing, luxurious time—it was honestly the best part of our family China trip. The Club Lounge was a huge highlight. The food was consistently good and offered a ton of variety: comforting Western dishes like bolognese pasta, mac and cheese, and pizza, plus Asian options like made-to-order pho noodles where you could ask for more spice or extra veggies. Some mornings had dim sum-style items like shrimp dumplings and steamed baos, which was a nice touch.
The Club Lounge also had a wide variety of drink options, including French white wines, beer, and liquor to mix your own drinks like gin and tonics. It wasn’t anything over the top, but it was generous and convenient, especially for being self-serve. We also really enjoyed the afternoon tea (2:30–4:30 PM), evening hors d’oeuvres and light dinner (5:30–7:30 PM), and the desserts and drinks available until 10 PM. Always fresh fruit and treats around.
One of the best parts was that they let us reserve the executive meeting room for our family meals, which gave us privacy and a guaranteed space to sit together—a huge help for a group our size. We ate most of our meals in the lounge because it was so easy and accommodating for everyone.
Service throughout the resort was impeccable. The staff was kind, thoughtful, and always made sure we were taken care of. The rooms were clean and comfortable—plush bedding, a beautiful soaking tub, great water pressure, and even the shampoo and conditioner were high-quality. The views from the room were lovely and peaceful.
The resort itself is beautiful, with well-maintained pools, beach access, a tennis court, and water activities like paddleboarding and kayaking. We saw guests from other resorts come to the Ritz for photoshoots, which says a lot about how scenic it is. There are several restaurants on-site and within walking distance, which made dining flexible.
We were there for New Year’s, and the hotel hosted a fun celebration with a live performance and fireworks, making it feel festive and special.
The only downside was the weather—cloudy and overcast for most of our trip. We had hoped for more sunshine to really enjoy the beach and outdoor views. While the hotel made up for it in so many ways, the weather might make us pause before returning to this exact location.
Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable family vacation. The Club Level access made a big difference in comfort and convenience, and we left feeling relaxed and well cared for.
