The 5 o'clock Somewhere Bar & Grill is an excellent "beach bar" miles away from the beach. The moment you walk inside, the ambiance, music, and vibe takes you away to a wonderful Margaritaville & Jimmy Buffett style party.
We were there for our License to Chill! We thoroughly enjoyed the music, vibe, watching everyone having a wonderful time, beach balls flying around the pool, and several people sitting outside with their dogs.
Our bartender was Sarah; she was friendly and professional. Sarah exceeded our expectations on customer service. We enjoyed a couple of drinks, appetizers, and a pepperoni flatbread!
Do yourself a favor and check out the 5 o'clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, you will not be disappointed, and you may just not want to leave!
So good, went back 3 days later and caught the Sunday all day happy hour! (Update at bottom) Key lime pie brought in from Florida?! Yes please! Recommend you finish with this, dense and creamy deliciousness! But what to start with?!
We both had shrimp; the wife with the grilled skewers and perfectly grilled asparagus on a Mount Shasta of pineapple jasmine rice, added a side salad for only $3, it's not a big salad, but fresh and sufficient. I highly recommend the butterflied coconut shrimp, swap the fries for the salad, and if you are feeling adventurous, the pineapple aioli is delicious but I like a little more juicy pop in the mouth which means it makes you salivate for more; so here's what you do... With the salad get the lemon tequila dressing on the side, ALSO the strawberry vinaigrette on the side, and so for the habanero Tabasco if you like spice... Move the salad aside, dump the coleslaw on your plate to make an empty mixing bowl, add all of the pineapple aioli, 1/3 of the lemon tequila dressing, 1/3 of the strawberry, a little black pepper, and habanero if that's your thing... Mix well, dip your coconut shrimp, and let your eyes roll back with pleasure!
On the return we both got the coconut shrimp, she moaned with delight over that and the pineapple aioli even more than the delectable skewers a few days before; but an amazing value was our happy hour jerk chicken skewers 5 of them for only $7! Nicely spicy, I'd say high medium heat for your average American that considers jalapenos hot. Easily enough chicken to add a salad and call it a meal and cooked to a delightful nice toastiness on the outside with a delightfully moist inside leaving you looking forward to the next bite! Highly recommend this place! Oh and failed to mention the impressive service, both Sarah on Thursday and Cassie on Sunday were attentive, friendly, accurate, and generally a pleasure to experience.
We came in as a family of 5 to enjoy a meal after a full day of activities. We asked to sit outside and were seated without issue. Two of us ordered Margaritas, while the rest of our table ordered waters and one iced tea.
Our server, Miranda, stared long and hard at both of our licenses then presumed to take our orders with no issues. About 3 minutes after placing our orders, Miranda comes back and asks us "what were we up to today?" We casually told her various activities, including the Golf & Casino next door. She asked if we had drank any alcohol during the day and then insisted that "you cant just go to a casino and not drink alcohol."
We thought the question was very unusual but we answered no anyway and brushed it off.
No more than 10 minutes later a manager comes outside to inform us that they could not serve alcohol to our table as we were all showing signs of intoxication.
We were quiet, respectful, and completely non-disruptive. The interaction was bizarre and made us all feel really uncomfortable, like we were being judged without cause. Miranda seemed to be under an influence herself. Her attitude was inappropriate, and the experience left us feeling singled out for no clear reason.
We highly recommend finding somewhere else to go as this server assess people in uncomfortable ways. We will not be returning.
