Tabriz hand weavings are displayed, which are very attractive and unique. Visiting the Tabriz Municipal Museum will introduce you to the old culture and life of Tabriz and give you a special sense of peace.
One of the most beautiful buildings in the city, this municipality palace is now a museum from being the actual municipality of Tabriz. The entrance is free, and one can go inside and explore. There is a garden with fountain at the back which is well maintained and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Inside the museum, there are displays of old items that was once used during the old days when it served as municipality. There is also a display of huge carpets that was once used. Unfortunately, the management does not give effort to put more signages to guide tourists.

This building served as the municipality of Tabruz for decades until it was turned into the City Museum when the municipality was relocated elsewhere. The architecture of the building is unique, and the interior area is an epitome of the architectural design of the 1920s and 1930s. All the items in the museum are related to one point in the history of Tabriz and give the visitor a sense of what the place has been through all these years. The best part of this museum was the carpet hall on the upper floor, where you can appreciate some huge hand woven Tabrizi carpets. The entrance to the place is free.
Having said the above, it has to be noted that the management is relatively poor in running the place to good standards. There is no signage on which entry to take, and there is very limited information in English on the objects at display.
