UPDATE: The hotel manager reached out to me, apologized, and gave a partial refund of my second night. So, I increased my stars from 2 to 3.
Not the worst hotel we've been in, but not great either. Was expecting a lot better from Quality Suites. When first entering, we were impressed by the modern look. However, no one was at the check in counter. There was a young lady sitting in a chair on her phone who looked at us and said hello. We didn't know if she was staff or customer until I asked where to check in. She got up and went to the counter. Her accent was thick and it was difficult to understand her, but she was friendly enough. On the elevator up to the room, the window was very dirty, and the garbage can next to the elevator on our floor was overflowing. Our suite was nice at first glance. However, we found out the couch was old, uncomfortable and broken. There was a bag tied around the smoke detector, the carpet looked like it needed a good cleaning, and we were unable to access the safe. The bathroom was very small and not big enough for two if you have children you need to attend to. The bed, however, was very comfortable and the room was clean, aside from the carpet. The breakfast was decent. On the Monday we were there, they had waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt and apples. We did complain about the issues with our room on Monday morning, and we were offered a room change. We were in a hurry, though, and said we could stay one more night (we paid for 2 nights) but wanted them to be aware of the issues. We got back to the hotel around 4:00 and decided to check out and not stay an extra night. We asked if we could get a refund for the night, but they said no. It was too late in the day. That's understandable. However, with the issues we had, it would have been decent of them to at least give us a partial refund. We won't be back to this one.
