Access to the property is poor (a long road 1½ vehicle width with plenty of large potholes). The food was nice, but pricey. A burger cost me £31 by the time the room service charge was added and then an additional 12.5% service charge on top of the room service charge. I was in the mews rooms, which are not great if you're a taller (above 5ft) person as the sloping ceilings make access to parts of the room difficult. Parts of the room felt very budget, such as the kettle - the type that has a hardwired plug that makes pouring a pain - and a cheap hairdryer that would frequently cut out. Bed was comfortable and the rooms were nice and clean. Other than the kettle, tea and coffee facilities were good with some nice biscuits provided. Shower was OK. One room I stayed in the shower made a loud noise for the first 20-30 seconds of use. In the other, it was loose in its fixings meaning if you wanted it on a decent strength, it wasn't possible to get it to stay in place properly. Neither room I stayed in had any sort of desk. Wifi was provided but was a bit sketchy. When it was connected, the speed seemed usable. We reserved a table 2 weeks before and was sent to a booth sat there looking though the menu to then have anouther customer come over and politely say you need to move as we have already order food to this table. We then went back to the staff and said you put us in a table that was already in use they mumbled somthing under their breath and then told us to sit anywhere. Once sorted at a new table we ordered via the app. drinks were brought to the table well more like slammed on the table. The food was then delivered but the order was wrong when explaining that wrong items were delivered the staff apologised and sorted the error ls out but while doing this showed attitude to each other in from of us. The food was average quality, okay for the price we paid. When leaving we decided to check out the take away cake option as they looked amazing. When we got home we were very disappointed in the cake as ordered the mars cake but was given chocolate fudge and the carrot cake was nothing like the cake they have on display as the top design was completely different no ice carrot no icing and the fudge cake had a different top. Almost feels like the cakes in cabinet are for show and you actually get a cheaper version???? After one bite of each cake it was clear these cakes have been stored for a long time as very dry and just old. This is from somone that is not a fussy eater and adores any cake but on this occasion the cake went in the bin, first time ever throwing away cake for me 😂 Would still recommend visiting the pub as the food is really well priced especially being that close to the shopping centre but avoid the cake and expect minimum service

Had a family room and it had great freebies for our son that made it a lovely stay- cookie, special cup and plate, milk dispenser, mini robe and slippers and a rabbit wash bag. He was really happy and it was very cute! The room was big enough for us and clean but only one robe. We called for more pillows and had a quick response which was good as we were all pretty tired! Walk-in shower was fine- did miss a bath, especially with a small child. We used the pool which was nice and family times were reasonable. The changing rooms were not very clean though. The breakfast was lovely! Good selection, great service and lovely area to dine. We had to book a slot which was fine by us and to be honest, we prefer it that way to get us out of bed and also to avoid overcrowding at the counters to get your food.

Upon arriving, the hotel was very welcoming and our room was all ready for our early check in. My husband had also booked extras (bouquet of flowers) which were honoured and these touches made our stay even more special. The hotel was very well presented and clean with lush and dazzling features throughout. From the well kept car park through to the cozy room. The room was a lake side ground floor room that had a small terrace. The terrace provided a nice private out door space that was perfect for taking in the picturesque view and gathering some fresh air. The double bed was extremely comfy and must have been bigger than a standard double. The room also had a double sofa and table with a decent sized TV. Along with all the other features and facilities you'd expect to come with a hotel room and then some. Hair dryer, dressing table complete with mirror and lighting. A Kettle and coffee machine with assorted beverages, a fridge with jugs for water and milk that can be topped up via the communal water and milk dispensers out in the corridors. The bathroom was a decent size that had a bath with a shower. The bathroom also featured a heated towel rail and a very large full wall anti mist mirror Infront of the large sink with 2 prong shaver sockets. The food was prompt and spectacular and we were checked on at least once every course and offered additional refreshments etc. The whole experience left us feeling well cared for with a feeling of VIP treatment as the staff couldn't do enough for us. We did not eat in our room but from our experience in the restaurant, I can not imagine why it would be any different from dining in the restaurant. It must be said that all staff were patient, kind and courteous even with my strong accent that can be difficult to understand at times. We went to the café late morning on a Wednesday and it was about 60% full and had three people taking orders and serving them to the tables, however the service was glacial. After being seating i had to go up to the servery after ten minutes as no one had got around to coming to take our order. Even then it took over ten minutes for our two coffees to arrive. It was the same for the couple on the table next to us who had arrived before us. It all just seemed to lack oomph! In the shop they sell really good organic vegetables that are of course priced accordingly. However we found that a number of the more generic products in the shop were more expensive then at good supermarkets. The asparagus was over cooked and soggy and unseasoned and the portions were tiny for the price and flavour. The sauce that came with the fish was inedible it was so sour and overpowering. Mocktails are the same price as cocktails and our waiter offered to make me a mix of lemonade, elderflower and apple which was 4.10 (very kind of him) and it was lovely. Cutlery and cups were clean. There was also a very confusing mix of music that were both the same volume. We stayed here for around 2 1/2 hours and it rounded off a great evening. Thomas and the staff were excellent and when back in Bristol we will definitely come back here. There’s no shortage of coffee places locally but I’m always drawn to Farahway by it’s relaxed atmosphere (the music on is always up my street), its warm staff who are always chatty & even know what I’m going order before I even reach the counter. The decor is great, the pastries are great, and most importantly the coffee is easily the best in the vicinity! I’ve not attended any of their craft/activity sessions yet but it’s definitely something I’d like to do at some point. (Original) This was my second visit but I was so disappointed. First visit was fabulous but after this visit I won't be visiting again. I was with my family in a party of five. Three of us ordered Lilly's afternoon tea. When it arrived we assumed it was for two of us but we're told it was between three of us. Although there were 5 triangles of sandwiches each, the fillings were sparce, not very exciting and very predictable, two being cheese, one ham, one egg and one tuna. There was one scone each which was very cake-like with plenty of jam and cream. The biggest disappointment for all of us were the cakes on the top layer. Last time we came we had delicious whole slices of cakes and some whole tarts. This time it was very small bite size pieces of cake and a small square tray bake and only three each. For the price we paid we felt let down. I did recommend Cox and Baloney to a friend before my visit but now i will not be recommending especially when there are so many other venues for afternoon tea which offer better value for money. The vintage shop next door has also now gone. What a shame. Reading the other reviews, I am not alone in my disappointment with the cakes. Come on Cox and Baloney, you can do better than this.

They're always extremely busy so a booking is recommended if you want anything more than tea on the weekend. There are plenty of waiting and kitchen staff (the kitchen is open by the way), and they do well to cope with the stressfully large amount of customers. There is also a private party room downstairs which seems quite popular, and some outdoor seating. Prices are slightly above the average but not pretentiously extravagant. When I went with my Mum there was about 3 other people in the entire cafe and we waited for around 40mins for the high tea to arrive... we were pleased when it did and the food was lovely. When we asked for the bill we ended up going to the till as it seemed to completely slipped through the net and we were on a bit of a schedule. When I visited with friends we waited about 30 mins for our drinks to arrive and then we ordered food. This was a 40-50 minute wait, we asked to share 1 mezze plate and then 2 arrived and it had 2-3 items missing from what was advertised on the menu so we had to send it back. Following this we asked for cream teas and this took another 20-30minutes. When the bill arrived we were charged for 2 mezze plates due to a mis-communication between staff and there was a slight confusion on what had happened so that was another 10 minutes delay. To round it off one of the cards was charged £10 more than what was the equal split on the bill, which was specified to the waitress (though she was very apologetic and it was clearly a human error). The novelty of the venue and the quirky cocktails in a teapot is the best thing about this place. The food also is very good, but the service is its biggest let down.... if you have time to kill (i.e an entire afternoon) I would highly recommend but if having a 'express lunch' would avoid.

We were a large party of 12 and most of us had pre-ordered over the phone so we thought things would run smoothly and that our orders might have been prepared in advance. However our orders came out in dribs and drabs very slowly. My cheese plater eventually arrived a long time after my pot of tea, this was 3 reasonable sized chunks of cheese, salad and chutney but no crackers. I checked the menu to find that the platter would eventually be accompanied by toast, this is different to the website that mentioned crackers!! Crackers would have been better and easier to prepare and serve, perhaps a time saving tip for the manager. Never had a cheese plater with toast before or had to wait so long I also noticed toast going to other tables who had arrived after us.
