I am living 2 hours South from Cairns and locals don’t recommend to swim in the beach until early march. Where I am living we have seen at least 3 times a croc in the beach 😞. And also is stinger season, so its not a good time to swim here. But! You Cant miss the beautiful waterfalls (Josephine, Murray and millaa millaa)

The water will be warm and only swim inside the net with a stinger suit.
No crocodiles
The pool at your resort will be cooler

I grew up in FNQ and there's a saying "be croc wise in croc country" 🐊🐊🐊 There are plenty of places that are a little safer to swim in near Cairns - just do a little Google searching and there's a lot of recommendations.🤓 I've attached one to give you an idea. 😅 I'd definitely recommend heading up to the Atherton Tablelands and enjoying the waterfalls and lakes there! 😊 Hope you enjoy your holiday!
