I loved it. I used to live in CO and when I went 5ish years ago it was great and not crowded. I went on week days tho

It is very crowded during the summer months, especially on weekends - Estes Park is a cute town to stay in nearby, and tons of elk sightings out there. RMNP has some good hikes and varied depending on your skill level/time. It is beautiful. I've been a bunch of times but don't remember a lot of specifics on trail names or exactly which parts of the park I've explored. Great leaf peeping in the fall when the leaves turn - usually starts in mid-Sept but depends every year on the weather.
