Why do you need a direct flight if you live in FL? There’s probably for sure going to be a layover in either Seattle or LA..

Just so ya know (I just booked a trip there) Hawaii requires a 15% travel fee for hotels and air bnbs. That means whatever the final price for lodging is, you have to pay 15% more to the state to stay there. Also, most air bnbs I looked at were not very close to any attractions or the beach, so you would need a rental car. Most the hotels were on the beach and near restaurants.

AirBnB would surely save you money as hotel costs are so high in Hawaii.

If you’re not entire invested in Hawaii, Puerto Rico is like a mini Hawaii. Much closer for your hubby’s back issue. The island is gorgeous
