F bc I am also going to slc in July! We will be traveling to star valley wyoming and then to Jackson hole!

Just be aware of how hot it gets midday in Utah in July. Plan any hiking for either dawn or evening when it cools down. Also, as far as I’m aware grand staircase Escalante is mostly backcountry activities but the drive through it from Zion to capitol reef is gorgeous! The salt flats are neat but I enjoyed swimming in the salt lake more!
