Cancel kuta and rebook elsewhere. There are a million other options. Kuta is an Australian mega center. Nothing is authentic and nothing is locally owned. Go to northern Bali or western Bali or even south toward Uluwatu. If you’re feeling adventurous explore other islands such as Lombok or Sumba. Indonesia is SO much more than Bali!

The monkey forest in ubud sounds like a cool place to take your kids, but be warned if you choose to go. The monkeys steal and have been known to bite (we did not experience this personally but saw it happen to another group!)

I basically do not think Kuta is the best place for a beach holiday especially with kids. First of all it is pretty crowded and dirty also non of the hotels are on the beach but across the main road! It is very loud town with lots of night crime. There are other places for nice family beach holidays like Nusa Dua ( pricy tho) also rather across to islands around. Ubud is great. Town itself is basically packed with backpackers and visitors but there are many lovely spa hotels with large gardens and forests to explore.. fantastic for kids and offer plenty of activities and day trips for family. If you go low budget make sure you check it before as it can be a bit disappointing with unpleasant surprises! I bet they are many tips on you tube - beach holiday in Bali. Check it out and make your plans, it wil be worth it

Sunday’s Beach Club in Uluwatu, Jimbaran seafood market, Nusa Penida, avoid the Monkey Forest - hire a local driver - they are super cheap and very informative- we did a day trip to Ubud Bali Swing Coffee plantation and waterfalls!
