I haven't been to Malaysia but I can tell you that Cambodia stole my heart. It is an amazing place with tragic history; very welcoming culture with a ton to see and do. I spent two weeks there seeing Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Roh Kong, and I would 100% do that trip all over again!

I'm throwing a spanner on here, and going against the other comments... I found Cambodia harrowing and emotionally draining, and I haven't been to Malaysia, but I have planned a trip there and researched it to death and it seems to be a bit more developed than Cambodia, and I know I would probably choose there for a Honeymoon. But it's so subjective... What do you want more of? Are you really interested in visiting genocide sites? Cambodia is the place then. Do you want to eat lots of Malaysian food... Etc.

The are obvs completely different places, so look a bit more into each one and see what speaks to you more! 💜

Malaysia there are more differents places, cities and landcapes to see. The jungle in Taman Negara, islands like Perhentians or Langkawii with tourists and their muslim people,inreredting. The multicultural capital like London but asiatic version,... It's a rich country because they have oil and it's save and developed.

Cambodia is Angkor wat only and the rest of the country works for tourism, doesn't exists others jobs. I spend one month there and was awful. It's possible to see how many constructions there are for chinese tourism in Sihanoukville, the died coral in koh Rong and fecal waters on its transparent beaches, interesting. Interesting too is a country full of young people but nobody speak about live, only for bussiness maybe is for their Pol Pot history, the capital and the school/prison is interesting too but any other country is better than Cambodia.

I enjoyed Malaysia more. I found the people to be a lot more respectful and kind. KL is a great city, and it's so easy to get around the country. Langkawi, Taman Negara, Georgetown and the Cameron Highlands were my favourite stops if you want to Google.
