What they call rainy season is gaspingly hot, like 40 degrees, till about 4pm then it breaks in glorious thunder and a deluge you'll want to go out and dance in and after that is just beautiful and cool and you can smell everything 🥰

Went in August of 2019 and it did rain 50% of the time we were there. There were some days when it rained so much that our boat/island tours got super bogged down and the boats taking us to those islands were a bit dodgy. What threw me off was that because it rained so much, the air pressure messed with me and gave me nausea. I would still do it again -- just with more advil and expectations of drowning in humidity and lots of rain.

It really depends on luck. Most of the time rainy season is just thunderstorms in the afternoons. One time I went there in Sept and 2 out of 4 days we were there it rained ALL DAY and one day it rained only half the day lol. Of course it was sunny the day we left, though
