What tips do you have for visiting Germany for Oktoberfest?

I’ve not done Oktoberfest, but if you get a chance to go a bit north to Köln, it’s a lovely city and my favorite of the three I’ve been to in Germany. ❤️

Never been to oktoberfest but Heidelberg is one of the prettiest cities I've been too in Europe. So many castles and a river that runs through that connects to the rhine river I believe. It's like a story book town. You guys would love it there. Once you are in Europe it is SO easy to hop on a train, bus, etc and get around.

I would love to go to the world largest pumpkin 🎃 festival in Germany. 🇩🇪 To my understanding they start on the last weekend of August through the first weekend in November. I hope they still do it due to covid.

Find tickets to reserve a table..
I waited in line 2 hours and finally got in..then had to walk around for another half of an hour asking people if I could sit down at a table with them. They will not serve you a beer unless you are sitting down.
Bring money..
Wear the drindl and the lederhosen.
Most people do as it shows respect for the culture.
Many shops have them.
They have a fantastic carnival too.
