Any advice on a solo trip to Key West?
I have been to Key West solo many times. Very safe and friendly. My advice is just sit at the bar and start talking. People are welcoming to conversation. If you prefer solitude that's cool too. The motto is one human family :)

Any recommendations on the must-see stops between Fort Lauderdale and Key West?
We liked Mile Marker 88 restaurant because they had 4 place tables in the sand. Food was great.

Would you recommend driving to Key West to spend just one day, or instead using that time to go to Clearwater Beach?
It would be a 7 hour drive from Orlando to key west... so I don’t think that would be worth it for just a day. Tampa, St.Pete or Clearwater would be a nice closer option.

Recommendations on places to eat in Key West
My girlfriend and I just got back. The jet ski tour (lasts a couple of hours) was pretty cool and we went snorkeling. Get a reservation (if you can) and go to Latitudes. Good little spot for a quick bite, Bad Boy Burrito. Take a day trip to Dry Tortugas. Also, if you have time, rent a car and drive to some other Keys. You won’t regret the view up US 1!
