Where to go for outdoor activities in Gatlinburg, TN?
Hi!!! I live next door in Knoxville! Gatlinburg is beautiful but is very much a tourist trap! If you like that kind of thing, it’s perfect. If not, I definitely recommend staying up in the mountains 😂 The skybridge is beautiful and Anakeesta is super fun! We always drive up through cades cove and there are so many cool trails up there! Have a blast.

What are recommended restaurants, outdoor activities, and tourist spots during a road trip to Gatlinburg, Nashville, and Memphis?
I live in Knoxville (outside of Gatlinburg) and I would suggest anything to do with the mountains! It is amazing out here. GBurg gets crazy busy, packed and touristy, if you want to avoid that rent a cabin that has a view, come to smaller towns like Chattanooga and Knoxville. We are super nice here and will always give you good advice and answers if you ask a local.
Dancing Bear and Walnut Kitchen are a must for a fancy dinner if you can.

How is the night life in Gatlinburg?
Plenty!!! Go to the distilleries on parkway! Pay $5 at each and you’ll get a sample of the whiskeys, moonshines, & wines.
There’s like 6 distilleries there & plenty of places to eat & Bars.
Pigeon forge is like a 15 minute drive away, you can go to “The Island” and drink there too.

Where to eat in Gatlinburg?
There are for sure all of the above, except I’m not sure about zip lining. If you walk the strip in G-burg you can hit all the wine/moonshine tasting places without having to get in your car. In Aug it’ll be super warm so be prepared for that.

What to do and where to stay in Gatlinburg, TN?
My spouse and I are here now. Stay in downtown Gatlinburg if you like to go out and drink. Uber and Lyft are not reliable. They have a ton of moonshine tastings, wine tastings, etc. Go to GSMNP — hike Mount Le Conte, Andrew’s Bald, and Laurel Falls. Drive through Cade’s Cove.

Any recommendations on must do activities in the Knoxville/Gatlinburg area?
Ooh Dollywood was so fun 2 summers ago when I went! I don’t remember what it’s called, but Gatlinburg has an attraction that’s on the side of the mountain and you go up on a ski lift. We saw some bears while we were going up. There’s cool tree bridges and some other things you can walk around on.
