Q&A About London

What tips or recommendations do you have for London and Paris at the start of the year?
ok honey, from memory England is always family time during the festive xmas hols - but really great january sales are not to be missed. France and Paris in particular are not such fun, mostly in bars and cafés so possibly better if you are 'single' ;) but they do have lovely fireworks on new years and I can't recall that in England... (these are memories from when I was younger for now I live in SW France Bordeaux and left Paris long ago - about 15 years, wow time flies! And left London before went to Paris so... no can't calculate too far back) but my siblings live in England so seems not to have changed.

Any recommendations on good places to stay in London?
London is a great city and so full of history. Check into Airbnb’s, with kids they are easier. Look for a place near the historical sites with Tube access close by. When we traveled with kids we bought a London card, so we didn’t have to wait in long lines to see things. We always like to see a play at the Globe theater too.

Hi SAT, would like to ask if anyone has flown recently into London, and from a country that require the 14 day self quarantine. How do you get from the airport to your home/accommodation (without a personal car)? Thanks for the info in advance!
Lol government advice is public transport if you've got no other means of travelling https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-how-to-self-isolate-when-you-travel-to-the-uk/coronavirus-covid-19-how-to-self-isolate-when-you-travel-to-the-uk#how-to-travel-to-the-place-where-you-are-self-isolating

What should I include in my itinerary for London?
Sunday roast, afternoon tea, pie and mash, fish and chips, Sky garden for views (think you can book a month or so in advance else you have to q), you can use contactless (ensure you use the same method each time eg card, phone or watch. Don’t mix it up else they’ll charge you more), South Kensington for the museums (natural history, v&a, science), Tate london/modern, design museum etc etc Food reviews: www.hot-dinners.com or https://www.andyhayler.com/ Heston dinner. (They have lunch offers), frenchie is yum. Kiln has amazing Thai food. Sanderson has Alice in wonderland themed afternoon tea....lol Typical souvenirs from harrods and fortnum and masons. Enjoy!

Any suggestion for must-go-to places for a Vegetarian in London, Berlin, and Cologne?
most restaurants in london have veggie and vegan options on their menu and they’re rly good too! i like the veggie options at caravan, tibits, mildrids, dumpling shack and fen noodles at old spitalfields market, koya (udon), ottolenghi, ethos, dishoom, and mae and harvey! get the veggie/vegan burgers at honest burgers and patty and bun too, SO good.

Any recommendations for afternoon tea or other food places in London?
Orangery at the Fan Museum in Greenwich is a great little place, and not that expensive. Plus you can see Greenwich observatory as well.
