Me and a friend turned up a little late for the last tour of the day, however thankfully we were let in anyway. Both tour guides Luke and Martin were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to anyone in the area, tour ticket prices are about £9 per adult and well worth it !
We did the tour of Ramsgate Tunnels. Our tour guide was Gill. The tour was brilliant. It was done at a nice pace, very informative and with humour. You really get a flavour of what life was like during war time. The history of the tunnels was fascinating . The staff are all volunteers. I highly recommend this tour. Thanks Gill, you are a star!
Ramsgate Tunnels is a significant attraction with a rich historical background mainly due to its contribution during World War II. The tour lead, who was a very knowledgeable guide, was absolutely brilliant where we were told about the vast history behind the plan and its execution and the role it played to protect thousands of families during the war. The temperature inside the tunnel remains at steady 11C throughout. The tour takes roughly 1 hour 30 mind and advance booking is recommended to avoid disappointments. We visited on 7th September where the British railways had numerous displays of 200 year history of the railways which we were so keen and excited to have a look. This is worth to visit and know about its history, significance as well as enjoy the genuine beauty of the well preserved site.
My sister and I paid a visit to the secluded war time tunnels in Ramsgate, we booked our places on the tour about an hour before. Then went for a walk. We paid £9 per adult which I think was a reasonable amount. The tour starts with a short video. Clive our main guide/volunteer was very informative with a sense of humour and the other 2 volunteers (I think were Trevor and ?Kevin?) were extremely patient & helpful, pointing out markings on the walls, lighting up areas with their torches so we could get better photographs . The tour was approx. 2 hrs. I would advise sensible footwear as in places it was a bit wet & slippery, some mats/boards were down so that your feet wouldn't get too wet. We enjoyed our tour and the museum. They also had a little cafe area at the entrance which we did not make the use of on this occasion. I would highly recommend a visit 👍🏻
A fascinating trip into Ramsgate's wartime past. Our guide, Kim, gave us insights into the experiences of the wartime residents of the town (with some mention of those from Margate too 😂). He made the visit even more interesting due to his enthusiasm and passion for the subject and the tunnels. We would highly recommend this tour.
Worth every penny of the tour cost. Tour guide Bruce was very knowledgeable and interesting, kept everyone captivated throughout. Lasted approximately 90 minutes. I highly recommended this tour.
Excellent visit, so informative I learned things I had not known before about exceptional measures Ramsgate authorities took to keep their people safe! Scary but heartwarming definitely worth a visit! Also the entrance fees were so good!
Impressive network of wartime tunnels. Hosted by enthusiastic and well informed volunteers. A lot of static displays, an introductory film presentation followed by a guided tour of the tunnels. Finished our visit with a drink and tasty home bake from the cafe.

Lovely to walk around the harbour in the day and especially at Christmas in the evening seeing all the lights on the boats.  The only royal harbour in the UK and a nearby walk to the largest weatherspoons of the UK and also local restaurants and cafes near the harbour.
Great Royal harbour always lovely to walk around and see the boats.
Its just beautiful, all year round. From warm sunny days, where you could be in foreign country! Sitting outside in one of the many bars.To the lead up to Christmas when the boats are lit up. It has to be on your bucket list.
This is a working marina so be prepared to see working boats and marine industry. It has a good feel to it with plenty of historical interest. Worth a visit.
5 stars for keeping the beauty of real marina. Full packed with amazing & experiences yachts. Love the clean water colour. Stormy clouds creating more dramatic views. A lot of drinking places, small cafes, restaurants around. U can see many dog walkers. Love this place
Summer at this royal harbour. Local restaurants, new facilities, well the toilet block on the pontoons is. Lovely over night stay.
Amazing place, relaxing and affordable 😎
A beautiful harbour to walk around and eat at some of the lovely restaurants, anytime of year. The most spectacular time to visit is Christmas as sailors decorate their boats with colourful Christmas lights.

It was perfect for me! Even in less than ideal weather, I was able to relax wonderfully at Ramsgate Main Sands. The long walk along the beach to the yacht marina was just what I needed after a long drive. The peace and sound of the waves did me a world of good. I was particularly impressed by how clean the beach was. I can imagine it's even more beautiful here in the summer, but it was great even now. It was the perfect way to unwind before continuing to Dover for my ferry. Cheers.
A pleasant day at the beach with family, fun and food. Plenty of space to set up picnic blankets and allowed some music to dance, dance, dance. Toilet facilities close to the beach and plenty of bins around. Restaurants at the front to have lunch afterwards. Only downside was the seagulls - very bold in taking our food.
Margaret and Ramsgate... both cool places to visit...
Beach with sand but also with with a lot of stones.
Lovely sandy beach stretch and great for walks. Can also go for a swim lifeguards nearby. Beautiful lovely areas to sit in the sun and enjoy the view. Public toilets dotted around the place. Places to eat and shop nearby. Boats harboured close by with marina and church.
Lovely, had lifeguards and the large area near the pier has been cleared of slippy seaweed by the council to make sea swimming more accessible.
Its a very nice place especially with its fine sands which I missed back in my country. Relaxing place. Love the sun especially in the late afternoon!
One of the best beaches I've been to with a great view from the top. I would love to go here again.😍

I recently visited here and it was such a brilliant experience! The place is packed with retro consoles, classic games, and even areas where you can play them yourself. It’s both nostalgic and loads of fun. You can tell it’s been put together by people who genuinely love gaming. Whether you’re a lifelong gamer or just curious about the history of video games, it’s definitely worth a visit. A real hidden gem!
Amazing experience going back in time with iconic game consoles and computers. You are able to play the games and Mike, the museum 's owner, is very knowledgeable and can tell you the history of computing and game consoles. I would recommend the museum to anyone interested in gaming and computers 🙂
This place is an absolute dream for anyone who enjoyed home computing in the 80s or 90s. A really comprehensive range of computers and consoles from the UK from back in the day many with boxes and histories. A good range of the computers are working with various games to choose from so you can have a play. The owners Mike and Carol with volunteer Doug are really happy to tell more about any of the exhibits. They do this because they want to share their collection and are so lovely. So much better than many other museums with a fraction of the selection.
This is such a gem of a place! Its run by a couple who have been collecting for years, they open up their collection and allow you to play retro computer games for as long as they are open. We took the kids, but I think the adults enjoyed playing the old skool games from their youth more!!
If you love 8-bit retro games and consoles in particular then you are going to be in heaven! What a fantastic collection of technology nostalgia. I did not want to leave! Highly recommended
Mind blown! What a collection you guys have I really went down memory lane today it was an absolute pleasure to play these different consoles and chat to the lovely people who run it. I played on the Snes, Mega Drive, PS1, Gamecube they even had Pong from the 70s! History goes way back you'll even find Atari's and old pc with the tapes in with the huge joysticks! If you want to spend an afternoon going back to your childhood and the good times I'd 100% recommend Micro Museum. Thank you Mike and your team for making me feel welcome and chatting about all the knowledge of these old classics I learned lots today. I'll be back soon with my friends.
As a local resident, this was my first visit. Amazing collection of all things home-tech based. So many memories unlocked. Great that you are able to play on some vintage games, eg Pong. Definitely worth a visit.
Popped in whilst in Ramsgate for the weekend and stepped in to a wonderful world of nostalgia, accompanied by our knowledgeable guide. I would absolutely recommend dropping in. The owner is passionate about his subject and keen to talk through it all… all whilst playing old school games in the way they were meant to be played! No emulator comes close! Drop in, say high and check it out.

Really lovely place to walk dogs or watch birds. Beautiful wild views whilst still being really well cared for. Parking and a cafe (check for when it’s open) and enjoy the great views.
It’s desolate in winter and the nature reserve is off limits to dogs and humans so not really worth a visit. Avoid the white chalk path unless you have good boots. dad petrol station. Decent coffee across the road and good looking food.
Good place to take the dog for a walk. Quiet. Good views. On low tide you can walk from Ramsgate to cliffsend. There's a chalk sea bed along the Ramsgate part that has rock pools. Turning to mud near cliffsend. Keep walking towards sandwich and there is marshes.
Lovely place to visit and a great cafe and service
It’s Fantastic Going For Long Walks Especially At Time Of The Year You Will Love It Can’t Beat It
Excellent, Viking ship, cafe, nature reserve to walk around, excellent
Gorgeus place a perfect time away from the everyday stress it had done wonders to my depression would highly recommend
Beautiful park and place to walk.

Sights & Landmarks
Slide 1 of 8
The Sailors' Church was built in the mid 19th century to minister to the the men and boys who fished out of Ramsgate, and to provide accommodation for the fishing apprentices (also known as Smack Boys) and emergency space for shipwrecked sailors. The church itself is essentially rectangular and occupies the ground floor of the three-floor building. The rooms above, and the building next door, originally served as living quarters. The interior of the church is quite plain.
A very historic church that I did not know existed, worth a visit .
We tried twice in the last week. It has been closed. It is a beautiful church - visited it many times last year. Very disapponted with what is happening now
No one in attendance totally left open full of pigeons
Opened in 1878, a red brick building with a blue brick banding which has Sailors Home inscribed on the central gable. The church is a Grade II listed building, inside there was a dormitory which was used for survivors from shipwrecks. It's a fascinating place, there are cabinets and pictures inside that paint a picture of the area and tell the story of the building.
I have walked round Ramsgate so many times but on a different route this morning and found this by accident..a lovely peaceful church, and a reminder of the life that all sailors face, the dangers and the beauty..I found it very thought provoking
Not alot to see but good to see what there was. Some nice photos of the area and good models of the boats, all done tastefully.
Nice small church open to public with nice displays at the back.
