Ceske Budejovice

České Budějovice is the capital city of South Bohemia in the southern Czech Republic. Surrounded by arcaded houses, the grand Přemysl Otakar II Square is home to the baroque Samson’s Fountain and the Town Hall with 3 spires. The Gothic-Renaissance Black Tower has views of the old town and Klet’ Mountain, southwest. Rebuilt many times, the nearby Church of St. Nicholas has baroque chapels and 3 naves.

Visitor Center Review. Only went to the Shop they got very affordable souvenirs and clothes. The lady spoke perfect german and was very friendly. I was to early to do a tour alone.
Very good pilgrimage to the beer factory. Remember to bring a jacket. Drinking a really fresh beer in the cellar,It's only 2 degrees Celsius .
Really worth to visit! Event though the ticket is not the cheapest, its worth to see what standards they have on the beer that you might have tried. The tour takes appx. 55 mins, provides interesting information. We had a pleasure to have as a guide the long term Quality Director, he knows what's going on there! During the trip you can try their non filtrated beer.
We took a tour of Budweiser plant. It was in English, not that expensive, very interesting. We tasted two kinds of unfiltered lager. It had an interesting and a different taste. The tour lasted around 50 minutes. They do tours in the afternoon in English, Czech and German. The only downside was that the tour guide's English was not that good (but we understood everything). The adjacent restaurant was too expensive for us.
Great place to visit to learn more about the national Czech drink 🇨🇿 Beer tasting (spoiler : it is really good) with a very nice guide tour 🍻 You can also buy nice souvenirs 🎁 Definitely worth it if you are in Ceske Budejovice!
We visited Budvar on a rainy day, because we wanted some indoor activity. The guided tour takes aprox. 60 minutes. Since September, there is only one tour, with the start at 2 p.m. We recommend to come sooner. There is also an interactive beer museum at the customer center, where you can get information about the history of Budvar brewery. The visit of the museum is free. Very good was also a short film in the Budvar cinema.
Amazing tour today! Simply put, our tour guide, Milada (and a volunteer btw) was amazing. What passion she has for the company she represents. The tour was extremely informative. We were taken to all areas of the brewery and got to see all the behind the scenes action. The beer tasting was great—straight from the barrel. Again, our tour guide was so amazing. Treat her well, Budvar.
Really nice and informative tour around the factory. Lovely guide.

Quite a walk up but views of surrounding areas stunning. 80czk
There are cafes around the beautiful and quiet city. You can sit in cafes. There is no toilet in the center. You can meet your needs in cafes. There are various places to eat. I discovered a nice pizzeria. It is a place where you can walk while eating ice cream. It is also beautiful at night. I especially put the night photos. There is also a currency exchange office where you can exchange your currency.
We were lucky to be able to visit the tower on the last day before it closes for the winter season. 255 steps to climb, but it was worth it because the view from the top was gorgeous. The man selling the tickets was very nice and helpful.
The historical tower is a must-visit attraction. There are approximately 200 stairs leading to the top. The initial section of the staircase is a historical stone spiral staircase with limited space, which might be challenging for claustrophobic individuals. There are informative boards about the tower's history and its bells, but unfortunately, they are only available in Czech. Tickets can be purchased at the top, and the cost for an adult is 60 CZK. The attendant is very friendly and speaks Czech, English, and German. The top offers a breathtaking 360 view of the city and a detailed perspective of the nearby main square. There is a small gift shop, and the functional clock mechanism is displayed within a glass vitrine, along with historical information about the clock and the city (this time also in English). It is undoubtedly worth a visit!
252 steps to the top where before you see the views you pay. Excellent view of the city from here
No visitor to the city of Budweis should miss the opportunity to visit one of its most prominent landmarks – I'm talking about the Black Tower. It was built during the years 1550–1577 as a symbol of the city's economic prosperity at the time. Under the guidance of Italian architects, the tower reached an impressive height of 72.25 meters. Admission is 60 Czech Crowns and must be paid at the top. If you're reasonably fit and not afraid of heights, you should definitely climb to the top for a splendid view of the beautiful city of Budweis. Please be aware that the tower is closed on Mondays.
The entrance fee is only 30 CZK and you pay it when you reach the top of the tower. Magnificent views of the city ,you will be rewarded with a beautiful 360 view on the city. And if you know where to look, you can even see Hluboka Castle and nuclear power plant in the distance. MUST SEE
Really good views from this old tower. Prepare to walk a little bit hard stairs (maybe 150) to get to the top, but it is worth it! There is also a small museum upstairs.

Well-preserved medieval brick farmsteads in the folk style surround a village green in Holašovice, a World Heritage Site. Former cattle stables house an agricultural museum, while quaint restaurants serve hearty local favorites. In summer, the Holašovice Peasant Festival features arts and crafts demonstrations, and Celtic-style celebrations are held amid huge boulders at the hilltop Holašovice Stonehenge.

The Christmas Market here is really beautiful. The food, the drinks delicious. The also have an ice skating ring where you can go for free if you have your own shoes. Beautiful city also
5 stars for the Christmas Market at the square. Cool vibe and everyone is so nice. There is an ice rink encircling the Samson statue and folks are zipping around, not ideal for beginners but I can see some out there. Love the Ferris Wheel, too, only $4 each to ride and the view was lovely. Food vendors are very kind and the cost was surprisingly low for an outdoor market. It felt more like a hometown celebration rather than a touristy thing, which I appreciated. We will definitely return tonight.
A bug square surrounded by beautiful buildings. Visited on a Sunday. It was very quiet and peaceful
We arrived at the main square in the evening. The decorative lighting was beautiful, the square was tidy and clean.
Absolutely pleasure, nostalgia, beautiful flat city within two rivers.
I love a fountain that gives me a good giggle. Glad I caught this one while it was running.
Huge square and nice fountain. When we visited in summer, kids were having fun inside the fountain.
It is nice centre of the city. It is a beautiful place with eligant building. Streets of the city are also amazing. May be visited once. For more details follow me on YouTube: @life.beyond.borders

(Translated by Google) The Town Hall building was built in 1727-1730 according to the design of the Italian architect and sculptor Antonio Martinelli. The building, made in the style of a magnificent Italian Baroque, with a monumental facade of four sculptures by Dietrich (Wisdom, Justice, Courage and Thrift) is located in the southwestern part of the square. The highest tower of the Town Hall is crowned with a statue of the Czech Lion, the symbol of the state, and on the column of the tower at the entrance stands an iron standard meter, which is popularly called “elbow”. The main decoration of the ritual hall is the ceiling fresco, made in the Renaissance style by Jana Adam Schepf. The fresco depicts the historical scene of Solomon's judgment. The central staircase of the hall is made of wood with a relief coat of arms of Ceske Budejovice - it was restored according to original sketches during reconstruction in the second half of the last century. In 1995, 18 bells were installed on the belfry of the Town Hall, which melodiously announce each new hour - many tourists deliberately stay for another hour, hoping to hear this melodic music that brings happiness.
(Translated by Google) The town hall is probably the most beautiful building in České Budějovice. There are other very beautiful historical buildings around the square market square with the Samson Fountain, all of them well restored and beautiful to look at. (Original) Das Rathaus ist wohl das schönste Gebäude in Budweis. Um den quadratischen Marktplatz mit Samsonbrunnen befinden sich weitere sehr schöne historische Gabäude, alle top restauriert und schön anzusehen.
