A Modern Marvel in Paris I was truly impressed when I first saw the Grande Arche de la Défense. Even more so when I learned it was built in the 1980s — I honestly thought it was just 5 or 10 years old! Its modern design feels so fresh and timeless. What makes it even more fascinating is the alignment: the Grande Arche sits perfectly on the “Axe historique” — a straight line that connects some of Paris’s most iconic landmarks, from the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe all the way out here to La Défense. Standing there, you feel like you’re part of a living timeline of Parisian history, stretching from past to present. Paris never ceases to amaze at every turn, and the Grande Arche is a must-visit if you want to see how the city blends history with modernity.
Definitely worth a short visit to see the newer and more modern "downtown" area of Paris. The defense plaza has a lot of great shops, mall, restaurants and other things to do while you hang out downtown. I decided not to go up in the observation deck but just enjoying a relaxing morning loitering around the area and sightseeing the building architecture and designs. Thankful that it's a clear sunshiny day because it lends to better pictures with the right angle. Recommended to plan for 1 to 2 hours walking around the downtown area.
The Grand Arch in La Defense district is truly a marvel to behold. It is relatively new and therefore does not come to mind for many people travelling to Paris. If you have the time however, I would highly recommend visiting the arch as it does stand out as one of the most awe-inspiring architectural marvels I have ever come across.
The Grande Arche de la Défense is not just an architectural wonder—it is Paris’s modern face, a striking counterpoint to its historic landmarks. Visiting it provides a refreshing perspective on the city: a balance between heritage and innovation, tradition and progress.
A modern architectural masterpiece located in the business district of La Défense, west of Paris. Completed in 1989, it was designed by Danish architect Johan Otto von Spreckelsen as a 20th-century reinterpretation of the Arc de Triomphe, symbolizing peace and humanitarian ideals rather than military victory. The Grande Arche stands 110 meters high and is perfectly aligned with the historical axis of Paris, connecting the Louvre, the Champs-Élysées, and the Arc de Triomphe. Visitors can take an elevator to the rooftop terrace for one of the best panoramic views of Paris. A fascinating detail: the building’s structure is slightly tilted forward by about 6 degrees a deliberate choice to create a sense of openness toward the world.
A modern version of the Arc de Triomphe straight down the Av. Charles de Gaulle at the La Défense metro station. I didn’t realise just how large this was going to be and I’m so glad it had recently become lit up for the evenings so you could really appreciate the scale, the night after we visited the lights were off again. Definitely worth a visit to see the more modern part of down town Paris. All glass and metal in comparison to stone.
Crowed and noisy, la Defence is a great place to get robbed. Never relax there, I grabbed a cup of coffee, and my phone was stollen in no time. The other time, in a pity attempt to find a metro station I had to walk the exotic streets of the district, shortly to learn that actually I was at level -7 and then at -1 through a parking and more creepy corners I managed to find the stairs to get to the main square. The metro is a separate story. If you like escape games, feel free to try to find the right train at Grande Arche. Oh, and if the trains will work, because in 2 weeks I had 3 situations, when they were canceled and I had to take the alternatives, that are much longer.
Impressive monument. Did not know about the alignment with l’arc de triomphe until after I left. Currently there are Christmas Markets on the plaza (until 28 December 2025) which were so much fun.

Awesome experience, very easily accessible with roughly forty entrances. Making waiting in line a quick process. Reasonably sized with a nice atmosphere. Made my first and hopefully not last trip to Paris as memorable as I could possibly have hoped. The last time is now 🥲
Great place! Easy transportation, easy access to the seats, clean toilets in sufficient quantity, enough snack bars etc scattered around the arena, and the seats were comfortable with a killer air conditioner, what can I say? I'd be happy to return to another G-dragon concert there
The area has a lively atmosphere, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shopping centers, including Les Quatre Temps. It's easily accessible by metro, with several stations serving the area, including Esplanade de la Défense.
The artist was great, but the venue organization was not! Terrible organization, from security check, to merch line, to food and drink. I also got hit by one of the security guy! There was no sign about where to go, and when asked, the staff members seem really rude, with some not speaking English at all. There was a huge line waiting to get merch, and the staff tried to organize us in a snake-like line, but there was no tape or bar to help guide the line. We were told that there was a merch line inside the hall and there were less people there, so we went in to queue there. But the line moved extremely slow!! We weren’t far from the stand, but we stood there for over an hour and the line only moved three times. It was as if there wasn’t even any staff there, or people were taking a crazy amount of time trying to buy a light stick but I doubt was the case. And don’t even mention the food line. There was only ONE bar opened for the entire floor. I don’t know about the upper floors, because we weren’t allowed to go up or down. So yes, one bar, for the entire floor, and so the line stretched all the way till the end of the stage. I remember the bars outside were closed too when we were there. In the end, they closed both the merch and food stand abruptly to prepare for the performance, leaving people thirsty and hungry. And when they tried to hurry people to their seats, one of the security guy smack my arm. It was not accidental, because he then told me to go to my seat. I mean, you could just speak to us, why do you need to hit people?! This was my second time to this arena. The first time was for Taylor Swift concert, and everything went smoothly then. I don’t remember it being this bad. This was very unfortunate because I enjoyed GD’s performance very much…
Huge concert and sports event hall. Access was fast, there is a place to store larger baggage during events (a big plus). The pain point was that not all the food and drinks prints inside the hall were open, so there were quite big cues forming. Also toilets seem not to be sufficient.
Looking at the immensity of this arena and the kind of crowd that they need to manage for most events, they do a wonderful job at crowd management and there isn't typically a long queue at the food stalls. Acoustics, playground lighting and visibility are great; I have watched a couple of rugby and tennis matches here. Note the following inconveniences though: - Depending on your seat, you may need to climb a lot of stairs even before the arena entry. These stairs so have safety rails for support though. - Inside the arena, the slope is significant and there are no safety rails. So it might be super unsafe for kids or people with vertigo, depending on their seat position. - If you're carrying a backpack, it's best to deposit it in the concierge before joining the queue because the concierge is located outside the arena building for some reason.
Massive! Puts on a great show.... The only issue I can suggest is that the stage was really low, compared to the floor. So, view was mostly of the screens, rather than the band itself.
Great arena for shows! I visited it on July 2nd for the Robbie Williams concert. It was a 38-degree summer day, but it wasn't noticeable thanks to the venue's air conditioning. It has great sound system, entrances, and restrooms. Easy access to the metro, RER, and buses.

Most beautiful structures in ville de Bécon
A structure with precious wood and gold motifs will give you a feel of an Indian Palace. The Pavillon des Indes is located at the entrance of the park of Bécon with historic significance. In the Pavillon des Indes museum there is a permanent exhibition as well as an accommodation for an artist in residence. The Indian Pavilion was designed by the English architect Caspar Purdon Clarke for the Prince of Wales (future King of England Edward VII).

Oh..my..god! This exhibit is AWESOME. If you want to feel what is like to be in a marvel movie then put this place on your to do list. It's interactive with your smart phone, it covers all the major avenger characters and some villains. There's a chance for you to get in on some of the action and see some of the props, costumes and special features of the films. Get the metro there, our uber got really lost. Once you're there prepare to enter s whole need world of interactive entertainment
The exposition is good for fans. The installations and the peace's showing are very interesting. Is allowed to take photos and I like the guide and app game provided. However it is too expensive. Half of the price would be more reasonable.

Expert guides tell the story of Jameson in a recreated distillery scene with tastings and dining.
Slide 1 of 8
It was incredible experience. Our tour guide was amazing. First you get free welcome drink - you have 3 options from Jameson (Jameson with lime and ginger is amazing). Then you go to first room, it’s about history of Jameson. Second room is about how to make Jameson and on third you learn about differences, how to smell and taste different Jamesons. With this guide, it was really amazing and I could stay longer than 45 minutes.
My wife and I took this tour on a Monday morning a few hours before our flight home and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very animated and obviously loved his job! Great tour through history all the way to current time. Definitely recommend this tour for any whiskey aficionados or anyone with just a taste for Jameson.
I paid about $26 for the Jameson Distillery tour and it was worth every penny. They start with a really cool 3D projector story about the history and how Jameson is made, then you move into a tasting room where you try four different Jamesons and learn how to properly smell and taste whiskey. It truly feels like a world-class experience. The premium ones were noticeably smoother (whiskey by itself definitely grows hair on your chest 😂), but it was fun, informative, and delicious. After the tasting, you get a drink included — they already have a bar set up with several cocktail options, and if you want another drink afterward you can buy more. The tour guide was incredible — funny, knowledgeable, and made it feel like he actually believed every part of the history. It was so good I found myself thinking, “Do y’all hire? I could work here too.” The staff overall was extremely friendly and helpful. They’ll even hold your bags if you’re coming straight from the airport like I was. There’s merchandise at the end if you want to shop, and the whole experience is just a lot of fun from start to finish. I would 100% come back and I’d tell anyone visiting Dublin to add this to their trip.
What an unforgettable experience at the Jameson Distillery! We opted for the Secret Whiskey Package and savored every moment. The tour was a delightful blend of history, craftsmanship, and fun, with fascinating insights into the company’s founder and the art of whiskey making. The highlight? Learning the skills of whiskey tasting, followed by a truly delicious sampling experience. Despite the bustling crowd of fellow travelers, the staff made us feel so special and welcome. We loved every minute and can’t wait to return!
Had a fantastic tasting tour on my second visit to this iconic Irish distillery. The guide’s deep knowledge and entertaining presentation made the experience memorable. It’s no wonder Jameson remains one of the world’s top selling whiskeys. Highly recommended!
Exactly everything you'd expect from a distillery tour. Great tour guide, samples of the whisky, and the best ambiance. All the employees were stellar and very nice to chat with. You can also purchase exclusive bottles you can't get anywhere else in the world.
The tour is small but mighty. They managed to fit so much together that it ended up being my favorite part of Dublin. The presentation of the distilleries History as well as its accomplishments. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was a perfect way to end our day. The John Jamison philosophy of everyone’s family has made this an absolute favorite for life.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jamison Distillery. I went with my husband and my daughter. It was very informative and quite interesting. There were several experiences during the tour. We tasted whiskeys that we hadn't tried before. Our new favorite one is Black Barrel. We've bought a bottle now that we're back home and have shared it with a neighbor. He is now a fan! I recommend going on this tour. It's fun, educational, and it even has a cute little shop inside.
