Very good, just down the road from the Abbey .the Abbey is a hidden jem well worth it seeing
I spent a weekend here with elders from my church on a spiritual retreat. Oh we had a lovely time. The place is very lovely and quite for a get away time with God or personal time for reflection. The lodge is great, the rooms a big and there is facility to house families in each room). The staffs are very lovely. I can't say much about the food as we are fasting all through our stay, however the children had nice meals. The area itself provides interesting sights. The foundation of the church and some of the wall are still intact. The onsite cafe is nice and provide souvenirs. It's a place worth visiting for personal time at least once in a year.
An impressive ruin with very pleasant grounds. Ideal for a picnic after a stroll around the ruins and/or along the river which runs past the site. Free parking available through the Abbey Gatehouse and refreshments available from a cafe located by the entrance to the site. Plenty of benches and picnic tables. But your day will be made the more enjoyable if you visit the beautiful church nearby..The Church of Saint Mary and all Saints. It is magnificent. The ceiling and the carved woodwork is sublime. Three Saxon crosses in the graveyard. Do not fail to visit it. It is cherished by its parishioners. And you can buy homemade jams, pickles etc, made by those same parishioners , on sale inside. Along with lovely crocheted bookmarks.
This is NOT a review for Whalley Abbey East Gatehouse, which is owned by English Heritage - it is instead a review for Whalley Abbey Gardens. There seems to be some confusion. We struggled to find up to date information about Whalley Abbey on line so took a leap of faith and visited early in July 2022. We were so pleased that we did as we had an amazing time. We had coffee and home made scone in the lovely cafe, before spending at least 1.5hours walking around the gardens and ruins. The gardens are beautiful - so well designed, planted and cared for, mostly by volunteers, I think. The ruins are really interesting with information boards where needed. Something I found particularly wonderful were the vistas we were continually treated to, through arches, tree lined avenues, doorways etc. Would not hesitate to recommend and look forward to visiting again soon. The gardens are open 9am - 5pm and cost £3 for adults - less for others.

Not always manned ticket office and a honesty pay by phone online QR code to scan when ticket office is closed.
really good walk if you are interested in ancient archaeology. you are free to walk around in the grounds even in this lockdown. the cafe is open for takeaway. card payments only due to covid..
Great little spot to visit, can probably spend about an hour here. It's made up of a Ruined Abbey and Gardens. Little cafe too where I got a very nice sandwiche served by a friendly man!
Beautiful place, Walk around the lovely grounds and gardens. A lovely cage is available. Only problem is only guide dogs allowed .. even in grounds.

Just been to see the swing commanders, what an amazing night. What a very talented bunch of young ladies and gentlemen, I love this band, the talent is off the scale,I find Gaynor mesmerising she is so multi talented cannot wait to see them again. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and healthy new year. Thank you to you all.
My wife and I went to see a concert at The Grand recently and it was a wonderful experience. The venue is relatively small but has good acoustics making it perfect for a concert. It is very nice inside being really well maintained. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going again.
Lovely, spotlessly clean venue with great acoustics. Friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful night. Would highly recommend a visit.
Saw the amazing HENGE here on Sat. Not my 1st time visiting but this gig sounded sweet. No muddy vocals. No lost backing tracks. Everything came through loud and clear
Saw, heard Make Dawes, guitarists. The sound was spot on. I would have liked a couple of inches between me and the adjacent audience members. I think I was hoping for tables and chairs. However I did enjoy the audience. Nice people. Clitheroe is a nice town. I hope Mike Daews returns. I'd go again.
First time here, but we will definitely be back. Great size for a concert. Intimate, good acoustics, and very modern. Staff are friendly. We saw the awesome King King. Can't wait for their next gig. 😍
Great little live venue. Top night had by all - smiles all around.
First time going to a gig at the grand , but I was very impressed. It was spotlessly clean ,superb service with a great selection of drinks at the bar. Nik Kershaw was fantastic. Definitely worth dropping in if something on there what's on list takes your fancy.

Visited for a look around the Hall and then a wedding. Excellent in both respects. The hall is interesting and the guides excellent and knowledgeable. For a wedding, a great venue and the barn is a fantastic venue for dinner and the a disco. The outside space adds to the versatility of the venue.
Didn't know this place existed....was so glad a friend told me about it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. We went on the guided tour of the house. The lady who took us around was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. The gardens and lakes were pleasant and peaceful to walk around. We called into the cafe for a bite to eat. The food was really good and the cakes were absolutely amazing.......I have truly never tasted a better carrot cake and my friend said her lemon cake was delicious too. The only negatives I felt were.....in the cafe you had to queue up to order your food and pay and there was a very long queue as a fairly large group had arrived. I would have preferred to have had my order taken at the table. I would also have loved to have had more time looking around the house, there's such a lot of interesting things to see in there but the tour doesn't give you the time to do this. These are the only reasons I didn't give 5 stars, however I definitely want to make a return visit.
We had a very interesting tour from a knowledgeable guide. Lovely grounds to wander in and a great little coffee shop
Went today and house was shut because of time of year. Had sandwich and drink at the cafe were staff especially Naomi was very hospitable. Had a sightseeing tour of the gardens where India was amazing, she drove my stepmum and myself around in a golf trolley and showed us the external of the house and the gardens. Could not fault the staff. Highly recommend. Definitely going back when House is open.
I recently photographed a wedding at Browsholme Hall and it was such an incredible day for Alex & Erica. An outdoor wedding on the Italian steps in actual sunshine, the cocktails were flowing, and I got to do my creative documentary wedding photography with a fine art twist: taking moments and turning them into art. The staff are lovely and couldn't do enough to make sure everyone had the best day. You can tell a lot about how good a wedding venue is by how they treat their wedding suppliers. Even though I was obviously working, I was treated like one of the guests- it's little things like making sure I had enough water throughout the day that really meant a lot! What a gorgeous wedding venue- can't wait to go again next year!
We had a fantastic autumn wedding at Browsholme Hall. All the staff were great and very attentive. The venue is stunning. Our guests loved it!
We got married at the Tithe Barn on Friday and I cannot thank everyone at Browsholme enough! The day was beyond flawless thanks to their amazing hard work and they could not do enough to ensure it remained flawless! Nothing was too much for them and I cannot recommend their wedding venue enough! Great atmosphere, fantastic staff, amazing food! I would do it all again in a heartbeat!
Truly Amazing Wedding! Highly recommend for parties and glamping!

Toms Cooked Meats Excellent produce, lovely family. Tom was a legend but his stall has been left in highly capable hands If I lived nearby I would be here several times a week. When you've bought fabulous food from here other places don't come close I look forward to returning, hopefully soon.
Nice market but not enough stalls. Would love to see it busier with the community supporting local traders. Love the fresh produce sold; vegetables, cheeses, meat. And nice to see an Asian stall too selling hot food and artisan coffee. There's also a stall selling bacon butties, pies, cheese toasties. It's a fairly decent mix of items.
Nice town market with a variety of stalls. Reasonably laid out and with benches to sit and chill out for a while. Car park on site makes it easy to visit, however I recommend using booths car park. Short walk however you get 1 hour free parking which saves you a few quid to spend on the stalls. Well worth a visit on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
A quaint lovely small town Market. Fresh produce in abundance. A mobile Coffee shop serving wonderful Fresh Coffee to your liking and good food as an extra incentiveto visit. Next to the Market is a large cafe serving a large array of meals at competitive prices. An Italian eatery is just a few paces away...everything about this area is just Wonderful..xx
I was excited about going to this market but it was slightly underwhelming. There was. Great stall which made prints in wood and slate which I think was called Cutting Edge Creations and the lady running it was called Julie. They do so many personalised items which make great gifts for pet owners, sports fans. I was impressed that she took orders for bespoke pieces. Really cool
Great traditional Market, lots of wonderful Market Traders, from bespoke picture frames, to dog treats, fruit and veg, cakes, Asian Street food, book and card stall, food , clothing, etc We trade on Clitheroe Market selling Handmade gifts, ie Handmade Pens, Razors, shaving Brushes , lovely local people and very nice customers love Clitheroe.
What a great little market. Very clean. Had a nice selection of stalls.
Nice little market, Mainly outside but a great place on a sunny day. Lots of stalls and shops and places.yo eat and drink

Fascinating quirky place.. plenty of interesting memorabilia to browse. Also has a cafe with lovely coffee and a great selection of cakes. Allow plenty of time to browse and make sure you pay a visit to.the toliet!!!!
Brilliant in this place, so much to find and explore. Kids games, comics, antiques, stuffed animals human teeth, weird stuff and a cafe on top. If you are in Clitheroe go here simple.
Unique shop selling vinyl for all tastes, games, clothing and other retro items from a bygone era, it was a step back in time, nice selection of ice creams & drinks. Made even more pleasurable by the staff running it. Will definitely be returning when in the area again
A great place to find the more obscure gifts, collectables or toys from your childhood. Been coming here for a couple of years now and will recommend going to anybody. The owners are extremely nice and very knowledgeable about the interesting things they sell. Also a great place for a brew. They sell records, taxidermy, diecast models in boxes, wet specimens, comics and plenty more. :)
We’ve always loved the quirkiness of Time Train and decided to sample one of their pizzas. Unbelievably delicious. Matt created it in front of us using fresh dough that he’d made that morning. Mouth watering and freshly made with a great choice of toppings. Perfect. We would highly recommend.
Really interesting shop. Good for vinyl. It sold icecream which kept my kids occupied while browsing. Hidden away in a nice relaxing court yard were you can take it easy
Fantastic place! The stuff for sale is amazing, the vinyl is definitely worth a good look. And if that wasn’t enough, the food and coffee are really really good. Really nice people too
Fabulously outrageous! We absolutely loved The Time Train! It made our day to find this establishment. We enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee and carrot cake, with great service. We bought a doll for our granddaughter.....she loved it!
