Monumental buildings but not at it best in late November. Impressive row of holm oak made an impression. Would love to visit when the water attractions was in play
Lovely place. I am a bit sorry that we could not see the gardens and the villa I side but apparently there are still people living there. It is a bit hard to find the entrance because there many private property signs and there was nobody to give us some information.
Nice view of grand villa. Tourists are allowed only up to the gardens at the front of the villa.
Amazing place! I will go back soon! ❤️
Simply stunning. It's hard to believe this is still a private residence and not some sort of government building or museum, as many of the old villas have become over time. This is Roman opulence at its finest. It's worth taking the bus trip from Rome to Frascati just to peer through the gates. The surrounding town is steeped in equal amounts of history as the villa, so it's a wonderful day out
Although you can't enter the villa itself, the grounds are definitely worth exploring. Make your way behind the villa and you will find some lovely fountains and sculptures. Then keep going up the hill towards a very large park. From the front of the villa there is a great view of Rome in the distance.
Unfortunately the villa was not open for visit. The building is beautiful but could use some maintenance and a new paint job. Nice view over the valley up to Rome and the vatican!
Spectacular venue high above Rome.

This wine tour and pasta making class was more than we could have hoped for. We were greeted at the train station with the rest of our group, given history about the local area on the trip to the vineyard and then treated to the most incredible wine and food throughout the experience. We were talked through the pasta making class by the most passionate Italian cook and then got to taste our creations! We met other people on the day who had travelled from all over the world and we got to see into how wine was made half a decade ago and what the future for the vineyard looks like. An unmissable experience!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Highlight of Our Trip! This pasta and wine class was absolutely amazing – fun, hands-on, and full of authentic Italian charm. We learned how to make fresh pasta from scratch, paired with delicious local wines and great conversation. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and full of knowledge. The setting was beautiful, the food unforgettable, and the whole experience felt personal and special. Don’t miss this if you’re in the area!
Amazing day from start to finish! Our guide had so much enthusiasm and energy! We did the wine tour with farmhouse lunch. We were greeted at the train station, had a town tour with a wine stop at a local Osteria, then off to the vineyard, and finally Minardi family farmhouse where we were fed and got to try lots of wines. Plus a surprise musical performance too. I would recommend to anyone visiting Rome.
10/10 do recommend this pasta making and wine tasting experience! From Paola picking us up from the train station, to the interactive, vibrant cooking class, to winery tour and samples, this experience made our time in Rome that much better! Not to mention the pasta we made was absolutely delicious! Met some wonderful people on our tour as well. Do this tour you won’t regret it!
We loved every aspect of this tour! The host, Nico, was fun, engaging and informative, and the Chef, Anna, was a joy as she taught us to make pasta. The food and wine was fantastic, and the views from the winery were spectacular. We met the owner, Umberto, and were so humbled by howhe shared his home and grapes. This tour was the highlight of our visit to Rome. Thank you for the experience!
I was a bit hesitant when I saw the price for this wine tour and pizza making class, but I must say we really got value for our money. The guide was kind and nice and very welcoming and the pizzaiolo was very good and nice as well. The place is amazingly beautiful, really hitting what i imagined. The view from the terrace was great with a view of the valley and Rome. A ide from the tour, we got to make pizzas and taste the local Wine and Figs with the focaccia. Both food and wine was plenty and I am really glad we tried it. It lived up to all my expectations and I recommend this to all who favors Italian food and living.
What a beautiful day we had in Frascati yesterday! Thank you Umberto, Paola, Anna Maria and everyone who made this pasta master class, wine tasting unforgettable 🙌🏼 loved hearing Umberto about his family story, beautiful house and the region. We will come back for the pizza class!
We had a wonderful day at the Pasta and Wine Class! Transportation was so easy with getting picked up at the train station, and our guide had such interesting stories about the winery and the town of Frascati. We enjoyed touring the winery and tasting the wines, and learning about the process of making it. Making the pasta let each of us be involved, and of course eating it was the best! Taking a day away from the busyness of Rome and doing this class was one of the highlights of our trip!

Michelangelo's statue of Moses dominates this coffered 400s church, also home to St. Peter's chains.
Slide 1 of 8
San Pietro in Vincoli (Saint Peter in Chains) was a deeply memorable stop for my wife and me during our time in Rome, blending powerful history with remarkable art. Originally built in the 5th century to house the relic of the chains that bound Saint Peter during his imprisonment in Jerusalem, the basilica holds these sacred chains beneath the main altar—revered as a symbol of Peter’s faith and resilience. The church itself is serene and modest in comparison to some of Rome’s grander basilicas, but it holds one of Michelangelo’s most breathtaking masterpieces: the monumental statue of Moses, part of the unfinished tomb of Pope Julius II. Michelangelo’s Moses is famed for its lifelike detail and the striking expression on the prophet’s face, complete with the distinctive horns drawn from a mistranslation of the Hebrew Bible. Standing in front of such an iconic work, surrounded by centuries of faith and history, made for a powerful and unforgettable experience.
Foc attraction, but you need to be early. I reached before 8am morning was able to get in with minimum wait. If you have a good stamina, can consider add on a tickets to go up the top of Fabricca di San Pietro in Vatican to get close up view for roof top painting also nice scenery view.
A beautiful church with some amazing painting as well as the statue of Moses made by Michelangelo. There is also a box containing the chains that were used on St. Peter. A must see place in Rome.
Is big. Is great. Is huge. A must to see while in Rome. A tour is recommended for a visit It shows richness, power, lavishness and money to create this magnificent cathedral Seems it was created a gigantic church with lot of churches inside along the complex cathedral.
As I stood in the hallowed halls of Basilica San Pietro in Vincoli, the majestic sounds of the organ enveloped me, transporting me to a realm of spiritual connection. The music seemed to bridge the gap between heaven and earth, and I felt an overwhelming sense of unity with the divine. The intricate carvings and stunning architecture of the basilica added to the sense of awe, but it was Michelangelo's breathtaking sculpture that truly stole my breath. The way the light danced across the single block of marble, expertly carved to bring forth a masterpiece, left me speechless. In this sacred space, art and faith converged, and I felt my spirit soar.
Very underrated church! From outside, it looks unassuming and not like a typical church building. But inside are two of the most interesting things: chains of Apostle Peter and Michelangelo's Moses! Near a building, there is a nasoni - a public drinking water fountain.
This church is best known for housing Michelangelo's statue of Moses, part of the tomb of Pope Julius II. Michelangelo's Moses (completed in 1515), while originally intended as part of a massive 47-statue, free-standing funeral monument for Pope Julius II, became the centerpiece of the Pope's funeral monument and tomb in this, the church of della Rovere family. Moses is depicted with horns, connoting "the radiance of the Lord", due to the similarity in the Hebrew words for "beams of light" and "horns". This kind of iconographic symbolism was common in early sacred art, and for an artist horns are easier to sculpt than rays of light. It's a must
Check this masterpiece out by Michelangelo. While everyone knows David, this sculpture is even more impressive in my opinion and is quite underrated. I still cannot believe that you can visit this magnificent piece for free!

Authentic Cantina with locally manufactured wine. Absolutely worth paying a visit while in Frascati. It is located not far from the city centre and the bus station (just all the way up the stairs). Hospitable owners and locally produced fresh wine. Visited the place several times and always recommend it to whoever decides to visit Frascati. Would love to come back one day!
Loved Cantina da Santino. The wine is fantastic and the atmosphere is as authentic small village as you can get. The owner is extremely nice. I highly recommend taking a break here and enjoying a half or even full liter of local wine! Grazie mille!
100% got tourist taxed here for speaking broken Italian. Crazy expensive if you're not in the doors of Italian culture.
Great place, great owner, real local feel, affordable wine, full pours, homemade wine! A must while you’re away from the hustle and bustle of Rome
Very good wine. The owner produces the wine himself and gives out very full glasses. Can only recommend. Plus the seating arrangement is very nice. Typical Italian old school flair!
Wonderful, generous, and casual

Had a great time there. The students were very forthcoming in giving the history of the villa.
Beautiful villa and view over Rome. It should be restructured a bit
Very small but a worthwhile and free adventure!
(Translated by Google) Enchanting villa, now home to a literary academy. Entrance with a free guided tour can be booked quickly and easily through the site. You will be accompanied along the way by one of the students or professors who live, live and study within the Academy. In addition to the history of the Falconieri family, you can enter the world of these students with stories of school life and study paths. A pleasant hour to spend in this place full of wonderful views and a well-kept Italian garden. All completely free and not easy to find in our country. I highly recommend it. If you then combine the visit with a very pleasant walk in Frascati, then everything becomes truly fantastic. There is no private parking but outside, with due respect for others, it is possible to park cars on the roadside without major inconvenience. Highly recommended visit. Visita straconsigliata.

An expert and passionate guide revealed to us the history of the villa, before and after the owners, who gave it its name, the Falconieri family, and showed us the rooms dedicated to the four seasons, with all the paintings and stories (for example that of the God Vertumnus and the nymph Pomona), represented by wonderful frescoes by various artists, among the many, for example, those of Pier Leone Ghezzi, Giacinto Calandrucci, Ciro Ferri, Nicolò Berrettoni, Francesco Grimaldi. The Villa has welcomed intellectuals, artists and musicians and today it is home to a prestigious international academy, the Accademia Vivarium Novum, which periodically organizes interesting cultural events, such as classical music concerts.
