Super quiet place, well preserved, free parking places close by. Wonderful beautiful Church, great guides and a must visit on the way from Italy to Austria
Beautiful - it sits at an altitude of ~1340 m - stunning Romanesque frescoes, peaceful atmosphere, and breathtaking views of the surrounding Alps.
Beautiful abbey in such a peaceful and idyllic location! It’s a 25-minute walk on a path from Burgeis/Burgusio and has a modern and interactive museum exhibition space.
As far as monestries go, this on is spectacular! Well worth a visit. The church is particularly beautiful.
Beatiful just visit them, no commentator
Very well maintained. I loved the old carriages and the inside of the cathedral was breath taking. One of the monks talked a group through the cathedral. Many French visitors on the day when we visited. The public toilets also very special and clean.

Cable car up from the carpark then a walk up from the restaurant. Amazing views. Restaurant excellent typical Tirolean fayre. Gravity cart ride down great fun €10 cash pay at the top.
Great walks, not overly stressful. Wonderful views. Well-kept, if somewhat poorly marked trails.
So I'm not the most experienced skier in history, but this is a hard slope from a novice level skier from Australia. There isn't a lot of signage on the slopes of which way to go (green/red/black runs, etc). The snow wasn't groomed, if you are used to that. NONETHELESS, the staff at the restaurant at the top of the mountain and everywhere else are extremely friendly and helpful and the prices are more than acceptable 😁.
very nice destination but also a long way to reach on top there are many activities for children
Try the watles riders.

8th century! Imagine and admire in awe. Very selective opening hours but it pays the littöe planning.
(Translated by Google) Small church on a hill with typical South Tyrolean features, in a clearly visible position from the provincial road that connects Castelrotto to Ponte Gardena, with the Sciliar massif in the background. It can be reached via a small road on the left going up from Ponte Gardena. Ample hourly parking is available (180 minutes). An external visit is always possible, while for an internal one it is necessary to contact the local tourist offices which organize guided tours for groups.
(Translated by Google) A delightful little church with traces of important frescoes from the Carolingian period. Some figures are well preserved: an absolute rarity in Europe. Two stars less for the limited opening hours. A gem like this needs to be more accessible to the public; it's incredible how a tourist destination as well-equipped as Malles Venosta can't organize itself better. On weekends, the church door is open thanks to a woman (I assume a volunteer) only on Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30; closed on Sundays. Closed on Saturday afternoons. Hmm. Sabato pomeriggio chiuso. Mah.
(Translated by Google) The church is believed to have been built in the 8th century. It is the most important of the churches in Mals, as it contains Carolingian frescoes from the 9th century. OPENING HOURS: April 21 - October 31, 2025: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Closed on Sundays and public holidays (Original) Es wird angenommen, dass die Kirche im 8. Well worth a visit. (Original) Eine beeindruckende romanische Kirche im kleinen Ort Mals. Leider nur zu bestimmten Zeiten tagsüber geöffnet. Ein Besuch ist für Kunstfreunde ein Hochgenuss. Sehr sehenswert.
(Translated by Google) The church is normal from the outside, but the frescoes inside are a true marvel. It loses two stars and remains at three for the following reasons: 1.- very limited visiting hours, and not only that but today at 11.25 it was already closed when it should be open until 11.30 2.- You CANNOT take photos inside, when you precisely come to visit the church for the frescoes.

There's not much to it, but the view is great!
The cemetery, set at an altitude of ~1500 m, is a solemn site surrounded by the stunning alpine landscape. Memorial serves as the final resting place for soldiers who fought in the region during World War I.
(Translated by Google) Monument with a great view. However, the outside view is the most exciting. Below there is a small parking area for 1-2 cars. There is a larger restaurant parking lot above. From there you have to walk on the side of the road and cross the busy street.
(Translated by Google) It's a shame that there always have to be memorials to mark wars. But the monument as such is worth seeing.
(Translated by Google) There's not much to say. The round shape is striking. We were actually on our way to Lake Reschen. We spontaneously stopped and looked at the building. A bit depressing. A sign with the historical background would have been great. I may have missed it, though. You should definitely stop if you're driving towards Reschen. Otherwise, it's difficult to get back out of the parking lot. The picture is the view from the cemetery.
(Translated by Google) When you drive through the Reschen Pass, you inevitably pass this opulent war memorial. It is located directly on a curve in the immediate vicinity of an inn, where you can also park for a short time. The monument itself offers a good photo opportunity, and the view south into the valley is also spectacular. Ideal for a short stopover.
(Translated by Google) A well-maintained memorial commemorating the fallen of the Great War. Surrounded by nature, it deserves a respectful stop.
(Translated by Google) The building makes a beautiful impression, standing at the top of a mountain bend. It's a cemetery, surprisingly people have a picnic on the steps. Opposite is a parking lot with breakfast bars. Why not there? I warn you, but I also encourage you, it's worth seeing.
