Absolutely amazing outlet village. Being honest, this is the best Mcarther Glen outlet in the whole of the UK, in my opinion. I couldn't believe the number of shops and restaurants. The whole place is clean and very welcoming. Disabled access is perfect, too, with no issues at all. Parking was good with lots of free parking provided. A definate day out with some amazing bargains, too.
Cheshire Oaks is definitely worth the trip if you're looking for genuine designer deals! We had a fantastic time browsing the enormous selection of high-end brands. The outdoor village layout is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, making for a really pleasant shopping experience. It's more than just shopping—there are plenty of great food and coffee spots too!
Very very busy plenty of parking shops were ok but I found them quite low on sizes and stock. Prices were ok but for an outlet I would have expected some better deals. Will try again tho.
This is a very popular shopping area and best to get here early for parking. Despite it having plenty of car parking spaces, we saw drivers struggling to find a space around lunchtime. There are some good discounts to be found in some shops but if you want the brand names this is a place to find them. If you are hungry on your visit, you will find plenty of choices but consult the online directory as they spread around if you are looking for something specific.
One of the best spots in the North West for big-brand shopping, Cheshire Oaks offers a great family day out. With a wide range of stores, there’s something for everyone, and the mix of shopping and dining makes it an enjoyable experience. We love spending the whole day browsing deals, finding favourites, and relaxing over a nice meal together. It’s our go-to destination for both great bargains and quality family time.
Lovely clean place, shops are beautiful too. Make sure you take out a second mortgage if you intend on buying a shed load of gear. Very busy when we went and getting in and out of the place was a nightmare.
Very nice Designer outlet, the design of the buildings and the way it's been set up is great. Looks like a small town. Definitely recommend for a day out with family, plenty to do 👍🏽
Cheshire Oaks is truly a shopper’s dream come to life! From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a stylish open-air village filled with rows of top designer brands, all offering generous discounts. Whether you’re hunting for high-end fashion, sporty classics, homeware, or the perfect accessories, there’s something for every taste and budget. What makes Cheshire Oaks extra special isn’t just the deals — it’s the experience. The layout is spacious and thoughtfully designed, so even on busy days, it never feels too cramped. There are plenty of cozy cafés, delicious restaurants, and snack spots to fuel your shopping spree, whether you want a quick coffee break or a full sit-down meal. The staff across the stores are generally friendly and helpful, making browsing a pleasure rather than a chore. There’s also ample parking, clean facilities, and little extras like the play area and seasonal decorations that make it a lovely outing for families, couples, or a fun day out with friends. All in all, Cheshire Oaks offers a fantastic mix of retail therapy and leisure, leaving you with great finds, good memories, and probably a few extra bags you weren’t expecting — but won’t regret! 🛍️✨

Visited for the first time and had a lovely experience. The tanks were very well maintained especially for a large aquarium. I’d seen some reviews complaining of overstocking however the tanks were incredibly clean and well filtered, the fish looked very healthy. Again much better conditions than I’ve seen at say the world museum. I also thoroughly enjoyed the centres focus on a variety of species and even British species rather than just ‘fan favourite colourful’ fish. Although they still had a good variety of those. The cichlids tank had an excellent variety. The sturgeons are adorable as well as the dog fish. Loved the rock pools exhibit with the tidal simulation in one of the tanks. The tunnel was an absolute highlight as well the aqua theatre. Unlike previous tunnels I’ve been it this one wasn’t scratched up and it felt like you had time to walk at your own pace and enjoy the animals. Although we benefited from going outside of school holidays so avoided the majority of small screaming children. I loved that the cafe had windows into the main large tank really gave a unique experience. Overall, staff were kind, tanks were lovely and the exhibits are well looked after. My only complaint would be that I wish the information boards in certain spots were better laid out and there was slightly more prevalent information on climate change in ocean environments as well as micro plastics.
Well worth a visit, car park had loads of spaces when we arrived at 11.30am. Warmly welcomed and explained heath and safety procedure for wheelchair users. Exhibits were very good and very busy. Enjoyed the feeding events and the shark tunnel. Everyone of our family thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Cafe meals were a tad expensive but aren't they all these days. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and drinks.
A great way to spend a couple of hours, You're able to walk around as many times as you like. Parking booked online at the same time as tickets so wasnt an issue on the day. Staff pleasant and happy to answer any questions. Shame the tunnel wasn't turned on - that was the only disappointment. But for a first time visit we really enjoyed it!
Blue Planet Aquarium is a brilliant place to visit and a great way to spend a few hours, whether you’re going as a family or just looking for something fun and educational to do. It’s an excellent learning experience for children, with plenty to see, do, and discover throughout the visit. There are talks and animal feedings scheduled at different times during the day, which make the experience even more engaging. I’d highly recommend catching the octopus talk and feeding, as well as the shark talk, where divers actually go into the tank to demonstrate what they do - it’s amazing to watch! The aquarium is well laid out, with lots of fascinating marine life and interactive displays. Overall, Blue Planet is a fun, educational, and memorable day out
Kids loved it! We found the outdoors trail path and play area was a nice way to fill some time at the end, as it doesn't take too long to walk around the aquarium. The shark talk was interesting, but some was hard to hear as kids were screaming.
Got better the longer I stayed. If you are walking there you may miss the building as it doesn't have a sign on it. Once in you have to seek out all the tanks as there is no map. Once you get your bearings there is lots to see. All the tanks are amazingly clean and full of interesting fish, frogs, snakes spiders etc. The talks are very interesting and staff seem genuinely happy and excited to pass on their knowledge. Some of the fish tanks are huge. Go round a few times as you will see more each time. Outside, through the shop, there are pelicans and a little further on a field of dinosaurs which looked a bit out of place. Overall a good place to visit.
A great day out with plenty to see. Gift shop, restaurant, outdoor picnic area, children's playground and nature walk. You can watch the pelicans being fed, see the divers in the largest tank and there's also a frog and lizard section alongside the usual fish. Plenty of car parking space. Tickets for admission and the car park need to be purchased an hour before arrival.
Took my mum for her birthday, although she's in a wheelchair everything was pretty much accessible, it was fabulous and very informative, probably best NOT to go during half term though if you don't like crowds

A really interesting place to visit. Free parking. We are returning soon. Keep a look out for a special weekend events. Some barged you can go inside and there's a barge boat ride too that's full of information - we loved our time here.
I spent a very happy Sunday morning exploring the museum, there is so much to see and do, they have boats, canal locks, a boat hoist, a working blacksmiths where you can book a lesson, there is a room full of engines, some which can be see working. You can see some of their collection in the main building before going upstairs to learn about the history of the canal and what it was like to work and live on a boat. There is a children's play area a cafe and a gift shop as well. Definitely worth a visit.
Fabulous place for a breath of fresh air on the waterside. Interesting museum area. Lots of outbuildings to explore. Fantastic view of the manachester ship canal and boats moving on it. Nice little gift shop with plenty of affordable, toys, handmade crafts, books, keyrings etc Cafe reasonably priced with choices of hot drinks, toasties, bakes potatoes and cakes. If you are at a loose end in the holidays take the kids for a couple of hours to explore. Plenty of parking too.
Fabulous memories of waterways in yesteryear. Some amazing boats and exhibits, lots to see and do even on a rainy day like today. Lovely cafe and picnic places. Highly recommended.
Nicely done Canals and River Trust! A nicely laid out and well maintained collection of buildings and cool stuff where access is really nicely done.. Lots of info on web Yes, some places hard to get to in wheelchair but plenty to do and see that was easy to access. I was SO CHUFFED that the Friendship narrow boat was all ramped up and easy for me to get on it! This is rare! Information was often contained in booklets with plain English and large text such as in the stores area. We really enjoyed how the museum was laid out... Outside area had lots of seating some in sun, some in shade so we could eat our (free!) picnic... Then gets cake to have at the cafe...
This is a great waterways museum. Some of the reviews on here are silly, Yes it's full of old boats, but if you are interested in the history of canals etc, then this is a fab place to visit. Lots of information, nice little boat trip, nice cafe. Basically a great day if you are prepared to take the time to look.
Great place, well worth a visit, lots to see and do. Lovely, friendly staff and volunteers. We'll be back soon!
This is an absolutely fabulous and amazing museum on the Waterways and Canals of the local area of Ellesmere Port. The museum is quite vast and there are a number of areas to see, which is intriguing and interesting. The number of areas to see including Winchhouse & Slipway, Blacksmith's Forge, Power Hall, Victorian Arm, Stables, Locks, Toll House, Island Warehouse- Exhibition Hall, Pumping House & Accumlator Tower, Merseyside Flat Barge Mossdale, Historic Boats and Boat Trips. The Blacksmith's Forge speaks about how Blacksmiths made wrought iron and you can see volunteers in action as Blacksmiths shaping and making wrought iron. In the Power Hall you can see a range of Powerful Engines and learn about how they were powered and these displays are informatively presented. In the Stables you can see where horses were kept and the conditions when they were not pulling the barges and learn how they did this. In the Island Warehouse you can learn about how canals were started and used and their origins and also learn about how Ellesmere Port grew into the Industrial town it is today and became the hub in its location for the trade and transportation of goods along the Canal. In the Island Warehouse you can also see some canal boats and other memorabilia which are wonderfully presented and in great conditions. The Porter's Row Cottages you can see how people lived during their times of working on the Canals and you can see how living room layouts and how people from different periods of history which are 1830s, 1900s and 1930s. You can see the famous boat Mersey Flat Barge Mossdale which is brilliantly displayed under a roof due to its fragile state but is still in great condition and there are some great historical boats to see on the locks which are amazing and the views across with the historical buildings in the background is amazing and spectacular. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a cafe selling a great range of refreshments at reasonable prices and also there is a shop selling a great range of souvenirs at reasonable prices. Overall this is a thoroughly magnificent and spectacular place to visit and makes for a wonderful day out. Well worth a visit whilst in the area of Ellesmere Port.

Pretty good for swimming with young children. Big pool and a smaller one where my 3 year old was able to stand on the bottom with her head above water so nice to help with confidence in the water. I've not used the other facilities but everything looks clean, modern and in good repair.
There are some points to improve. To access the facilities you need to print a paper ticket by reception (if you think about environment should change to more efficient electronic way to access it and stop to print paper to put in the bin straight away). The receptionist that set my membership was extremely rude and I didn’t give up by that time just because I don’t have many other options nearby in a walk distance. Not enough machines in the gym, during peak times you need to wait for them. Not sure if I would renew my membership.
I had a really great experience at this gym thanks to Sharon! She was super friendly, welcoming and helped me out really quickly. Honestly just a lovely person to deal with. It makes such a difference when someone’s that helpful and kind.
I absolutely love Ellesmere Port Sports Village! It's a top-notch facility with something for everyone. The gym is well-equipped, the swimming pool is clean and inviting, and the sports courts are in excellent condition. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. It's a fantastic place to stay active and enjoy a variety of sports and fitness activities. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great sports and leisure facility in the area!
Used the track for an interval session. Quiet with one other runner and nice and peaceful allowing me to focus on my run
Only went for a training course, pool probably needs a little more care, facilities are reasonably good.
Good pool, much cleaner and better maintained than all of the Wirral council run pools on other parts of the Wirral
The athletics track is the home of West-Cheshire AC. We borrowed the well equipped 6-lane running track, which is in reasonable condition, for a Deeside club session... shhh, don't tell! The rubberised surface has some give, meaning it is good for middle-distance & okay for top-end sprint speed, but can sap the energy of wheelchair-based athletes a bit. Good quality changing facilities are available in the main building by the car park. On race days, toilets are also available in the club-house by the track.

Great local with Live Music. Fabulous way to spend a Friday night
Just called for a quick one while the weather was actually warmish the other Saturday. Sat in the pleasant beer garden. Served by a very pleasant and polite girl. Couldn't get over the price for a large G and T very reasonable. Didn't have time to eat.
Brilliant night and band great atmosphere 👌 lots of people and a few dances ,bar staff were great and quick 👍.
Recently refurbished live music pub with great staff and a lively atmosphere especially on performance nights very open and spacious with great beer and music
Good place to watch football (LFC. Not the bitter & jealous bluenoses) and enjoy being entertained. Stay very nice. Didn't try and food so cannot comment on that...

Brilliant little day out. Small sight. But my son and I had a nice time here. We got to travel on one of the old buses from Hooton station and back. £1.30 all day parking at the station. £5 entry to the museum. This place needs every penny. The team that volunteers here is 100% dedicated to improving and maintaining this wirral gem.
Nice little museum right on my doorstep. I only found out about this place by coincidence when someone on Facebook liked it and it popped up in my timeline. The place is fantastic I can't believe it's all run by a small group of individuals and volunteers. I came with the whole family, and we paid £18 for admission, which was worth every penny. The hangar is full of different airplanes as well as historic items from the Ellesmere Port region. I really liked that you can get near some of the aircraft and even go inside a few—that was very cool. My kids loved it, and we’ll definitely be coming back again in the future. Thank you!
Great exhibits and lovely staff. If you love aeroplanes and history you will be delighted. Well worth a visit..
Fabulous day out. So much to see all the wonderful aircrafts cars, bicycles. Authentic raid shelter. Very informative museum with photos & aerial shots of the history throughout the years.nice cafe with two lovely ladies selling coffee and cakes And all the smiling friendly volunteers so knowledgeable enthusiastic thank you so much 👏
Excellent. A fascinating place with a variety of interesting buildings and items on display with helpful volunteers. Car parking is limited, and the cafe was small, cramped and the service was slow.
Really interesting site, lots of history to the location from the racecourse, hooton Hall, to the war hangers and air field/ runways. The remaining hangers house lots of history and amazing vehicles and restoration projects too. Open last Sunday of each month (unsure about in winter months though).
Great couple of hours visit. Lots of rare interesting aeroplanes. Interesting history. Enjoyed the printing press as well.
Amazing place. Full of old busses planes and cars. The old buildings are amazing to look at. A pure joy
