We visited in April. The water level didn’t allow access to the canyon, which we accepted. We were offered entry to the garden with viewing platforms instead. It was the worst part. Out of four viewing platforms, two (the best ones) were closed, and from the remaining ones there was either nothing to see or they were overgrown. There was no information about this online or at the ticket office. I don’t recommend visiting this place outside of the summer months. The only positive aspect was the blooming fruit trees.

The water can get deep (~1.3m/5') and the current can be very strong in some areas. Water shoes are recommended.

Best to prepare swimwear and boots for rocks. We went just with normal clothes and our trekking shoes and it still did the job. Even though it is September which is a few months in the dry season there's still quite a bit of water - up to the neck. Base entrance fee is 2€ per person, additional 5€ will get you everywhere in the resort.

We discovered this gem our last day and our family had a blast. We climbing rocks, explored canyons, collected stones and ate wild cherry tomatoes. What a great place to take the family!

Yesterday I went on a Mount Etna tour with Aron. We went up around halfway up the mountain because the top was smothered with clouds and fog. As a quite curious person, I asked lots of questions which Aron was happy to answer. He made sure that I had a good time and kept me safe.

Thank you to Alfio and the team for a wonderful tour of Mount Etna. Seeing the moonscapes and craters was an extraordinary experience. Very well organised trip, and we are very happy we visited. Thanks again!

Very nice and interesting tour. Learned a lot about the vulcano or actually the vulcano system of Etna. Full day tour with good stops. Have a good eye for the customer and can adjust the tour a bit to your liking (lunch stop, hiking more or less etc). Small group size of max 6 persons, so you never feel crowded. Would really recommend.

We visited the winery for a full tour and food pairing tasting experience. Everything was perfect and we enjoyed and highly appreciated the opportunity to taste a variety of the great Patria wines. The meals were offering a taste of local products and combined extremely well with the offered wine options. Highly recommended experience and even more the Patria wines, bearing the typical signature of Etna.

We had the privilege to participate in the tour, wine tasting and lunch today at Cantine Patria. What an amazing experience. Our experience guide, Martina, was super informative and knowledgeable about the wines and the region. To hear some of the history of the winery and see where the grapes are pressed into juice and then transferred into these huge oak barrels where the wine is aged was super interesting. Then, to finish off the tour of the winery, we enjoyed a delicious multi course lunch with a different wine paired with each course. Martina even made us a great cup of espresso to finish our meal. She was such a lively and inviting tour guide. I highly recommend this tour if you have the opportunity, you will not be disappointed! Ask for Martina.

After a bit of confusion to start everything, we had a great experience. The wines were spectacular and the meal was outstanding. Highly recommended.

We had a great experience of the Vinyard. Started with some storytelling about the area and development of the company, followed by a tour through the cellar and ended with a nice tasting of different varieties of sparkling / still vine (depens on your booking) with great cheese, ham and antipasti. Surprisingly ALL the different vines were super tasty! Everyone was super nice, directly double checked allergies what was told during booking the tour. All in all - high recommendation!!!

After a long hike on Etna, our visit to Cantina Patria was the perfect reward. The experience started with a generous tasting: a sparkling wine, a rosé, a red, and a white, all paired with a delicious spread of Sicilian food — antipasti, fried aubergine, and pasta that was simply outstanding. The service was impeccable; every wine was explained with care, and the owner himself welcomed us warmly before guiding us through the winery. We toured the facilities, saw the impressive barrels, and even learned about a wine they produced exclusively for the Pope of Rome for 10 years. The vineyard itself is stunning, located in an old circus with sweeping views. Everything about the visit — the wines, the food, the hospitality, and the history — made it a truly memorable experience. A must if you’re exploring the Etna area.

July ‘22 I have been fortunate enough to go on wine tours in the UK, USA, Europe and Australia and have to say this vineyard experience was one of our best. From the start our hosts (who I’m sorry to say I can’t remember their names) made us very welcome. We started with a Poss.It a Prosecco style sparkling wine but much drier And as one who isn’t a big Prosecco fan, we bought the white and the Rose versions when we left and which were extraordinarily good value (the rose didn’t last the day). The table was set up for the tasting, a White Etna Bianco, a Red Etna Rosso, an older Red a 2010 Patria and a desert wine. All were exceptional quality and again we bought the Etna Bianco and Etna Rosso and would have bought more had we had space in our cases. Our 2 hosts explained about the wine varieties very well, one even apologised for his lack of English but he explained very well and had nothing to apologise for. We were brought what we thought was the food, some anti pasti consisting of cheese, meats, olives Sun dried tomatoes etc which were given as the pairings. But then we were brought a delicious pasta course, some amazing rosemary potatoes and sausages and the cake to go with the desert wine. Even the desert wine which Laura isn’t a big fan of normally wasn’t too sweet, only for me a later sweetness after drinking and was excellent. The tour included a stunning outdoor event space like an amphitheatre which would be great for wedding or even concerts and a tour of the production facilities including the old original wooden storage barrels. This was the only winery we were able to visit on our weeks holiday, and chosen by our tour guide as we did it with a walk up Etna beforehand and what an outstanding choice. Sorry for any volcanic dust we left behind 😉.

Stunning winery on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. It's well worth visiting for for wine tasting as well as the panoramic terrace and the Palici Amphitheatre.

Just amazing - What a wonderful experience. Francesca and family are just delightful. The wines are amazing and all grown biologically/organically. We had a super tasting experience with excellent local food. The restoration of the Vineyard has been an amazing success!

We did a wine tasting and tour while visiting Mt Etna area. The property is gorgeous and the owners are friendly and provided great history of the property and surrounding area. The wine tasting room is well done and we were the only ones there for the tasting! The meat/cheese plate and wines were exceptional. We ended up purchasing a bottle to enjoy later at our hotel. This experience was one of the highlights of our trip.

Recently spent an unforgettable day cooking and sipping wine at Fischetti. It is spectacularly beautiful, the wine is delicious, and our hosts were incredibly hospitable. Thanks Fischetti!

We took the circumetnea train to this beautiful winery. The lovely hostess Daniela picked us up at station "Cerro" and so our experience at Fischetti began. After an informative walk through the vineyard and the production area, we tasted 3 wines which were served with matching local cheeses and charcuterie. We had a lovely time and definitely recommend a visit to Fischetti!
