We really had awful weather (storm) but even with the rain I can say it's worth to see! Beautiful place, thanks to the storm we were alone there we had time to see everything 😅 Amazing oranges, beautiful sculptures and fountains make a great atmosphere... 3€ for entrance is ok price.
Pretty place, really interesting in some parts. Worth visiting, tho I was intimidated by the staff a little
Very beautiful and interesting gardens. Well worth a visit. Maybe not for children, but the park across the road definitely is. They are small gardens with many steps. I've never seen a similar garden with so many statues.
Amazing park 👌🏽no one shouldn’t leave before leave…
We arrived after a long drive to Castelo Branco. My wife has previously checked the on line reviews and wanted to visit these amazing gardens a long ish walk from the hotel, we arrived not to be disappointed.
This is how to look after a garden. Beautiful water features very well put together with flowers and pruned foliage. Statues for days and more water features. All this for 2 euros an adult....get in. Worth if for the photos alone. The public park opposite is a gem too.
A truly wonderful park. Well kept, colorful, wide space, lovely natural and man-made decoration. A playground area for children, a cafe makes of it a good meeting place, and then woods area offers good shade from the harsher sun.
A pretty garden with small fountain and lakes with an abundance of statues. It is located at the back of the old palace that served as the residence of several bishops of Guarda and later those of Castelo Branco. The statues are representing many figures, from kings and bishops to the symbol of each month or elements like fire. It is also adjacent to the Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior Museum which was the residence of the bishops. I recommend visiting this lovely park to everyone. The explanations are in Portuguese and also in English. Opening Hours: April to September: 09h00-19h00;October to March 09h00-17h00. Entrance fee: 2€.

Great place to spend a day with the kids. Pool is large enough to have a good workout swimming or walking . Grass areas, plenty of shade, sandbox and chairs. Locker rooms have storage areas and showers all very clean . Cafeteria provides good food selection, ice cream and drinks. Anytime we visit family in Castelo Branco we spend a day here.
This year the floor is a bit harsh for barefoot, especially for kids. Use some sort of river shoes for a better experience. Amazing place.
Fantastic and refreshing place in a very hot part of the country in the summer. Excellent facilities. Swimming pool is very wide with different levels of depth. Great surrounding green spaces. Very good entry prices.
Always a lovely place to visit. The pool is clean, easily accesisble, with plenty of parking. The restaurant is busy, so if you can take a picnic, it is recommended. Alternatively, eat outside of peak periods. Previously, when booking chairs we could book an umbrella on their app, but this has since changed, so it is often worth not bothering late in the day as people spread themselves out, taking all available shade.
Fun, big and nice staff! Great for family/friends aswell 🏊‍♂️
We had the ”Bife à portuguesa ” the best we have had so far in Portugal. Proffesional and kind staff. We really recommend this restaurant . Thank you.
Fantastic! Spacious and friendly. Great water area. Great ice cream as well ☺️
Great place to take the kids for the day. Bring water shoes. Clean and lots of lockers.

Historic & modern spaces housing changing art exhibits & the collection of artist Manuel Cargaleiro.

An interesting collection of the works of the contemporary artist Manuel Cargaleiro, including ceramics and painting. The museum is constituted of two buildings, historic and contemporary. In the historic building mainly exhibits the ceramics, divided in to different rooms based on the patterns. Besides, the library and the shop are also in this building. Meawhile, the contemporary building hosts the artist's paintings, contemporary ceramics. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday 10AM–1PM, 2–6PM. (The historic building dates back to the 18th century and it was named "Solar dos Cavaleiros". This building was a place to shelter lonely women with rough life stories and also for unwanted children. There is the remaining of a window at the reception of the museum where in the past the parents of the unwanted child used to leave their baby and a person from inside the house will take the baby. the structure of that window was designed in a way that people from the inside would not see the person who left the baby, to protect their identity)
Museum holds exhibitions of wonderful artwork. Definately inspiring, well maintained and really affordable. We spent a great time there and staff was super nice and helpful
Really nice museum with mainly ceramic exhibits and some artwork from Manuel Cargalheiro, for national students it’s free to visit
A very neat clean gallery devoted primarily to the work of Cargaleiro. Personally I was very disappointed as I felt that the majority of the "art" could have been created by a 3 year old using the non dominant hand. If this is what sells then I should become an artist and retire. There was also an exhibition of some glazed pottery items.
Great museum. It shows many great pieces by the master painter and potter Cargaleiro as well as some other pieces of his collection by other artists.
Wonderful small museum.
Great museum to get to know the Artist and his Evolving with art. The price is really worth it.
If you have any interest in the history of ceramics the museum has a fine selection of tableware. The Cargaleiro section covers a large selection of his work and some excellent examples by internationally renowned ceramic artists. A really worthwhile visit. The museum staff were extremely helpful and welcoming.

Beautiful building, spacious. Love architecture. At this time of the year there was very few artworks but I enjoyed my time here.
A nice exhibition from Castanheiro, the famous Portuguese set designer.
We saw the Helena Almeida exhibition Habitar a Obra here. The spacious galleries allow the visitor plenty of room to view and appreciate the work both large and small. Our visit was enhanced further by the enthusiastic and knowledgeable member of staff who spent time giving us an in depth introduction to the life and work of the artist. Well worth a visit. What a superb venue!
Really nice space and amazing staff. I went to the Helena Almeida expo and a staff member presented it to us with a mini tour and lots of interesting information about the artist, the center, and the city itself.
Interesting collection. Vast space.
