Balatonfured

Balatonfüred is a Hungarian spa town on Lake Balaton’s north shore. The State Hospital of Cardiology, on Gyógy Square, dates from the 1870s. Outside, the neoclassical pump house dispenses water from Kossuth mineral spring. Lakeside Tagore Promenade was named after prominent Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore, treated here in the 1920s. The town’s many 18th- and 19th-century villas include Mór Jókai Memorial House.

Very Nice Aquapark and not expensive. 22000 HUF for a family of 4. It has lots of slides and Pools. It never felt crowded. Prices for drinks and good are also affordable. Lots of spaces with shade.
Overall a great water park with plenty of slides to enjoy. Wave pool and a wellness area. Clean and tidy. Tickets are reasonably priced, food is a bit expensive for what it is. Only operates in the summer holidays! The only downsides are the two slides with the photo opportunities on the right side of the park. They are very dangerous, every second person who came down said never to return again. People constantly fall out of the doughnuts you meant to slide in. Also some lifeguards spent all their time staring at their phones.
We recently visited Annagora Aquapark and while it was a decent experience overall, it felt overpriced for what it offered. The park is spacious and clean, and it wasn’t overcrowded, which we appreciated. It looks like there’s still some construction or expansion happening, so it may improve in the future. There were a variety of slides, but my 13- and 14-year-old kids found them quite boring – not much thrill or variety for older children. The wave pool was a nice touch, but only ran for about 10 minutes every hour, which was a letdown. We also found both the entry fee and food prices to be very high considering the limited options and overall value. The food variety was average, and pricey. There’s a playground for younger kids but it lacked shade, which made it uncomfortable for little ones. Overall, while the staff were friendly and the place was clean, we felt that the experience didn’t justify the high prices, and we’d love to see more exciting features like diving boards or more adventurous slides in the future.
Quite good fun for 3-5h max. 13 slides. Pool with a wave working only 10 min per h :( you pay for all in ticket and still you have to pay for sun bed! Online ticketing system not working properly. Discount code not working on till. Place is quite clean. Good when heater is good. Not recommended on rainy day as most of the slides are outdoor and you need to walk a lot.
Great place to spend a day, very nice experience. You have food corners with everything. As always come early to find a spot with a shad. If you are looking for the extreme go to zalcaros instead.
it was a nice experience for 2 year old in small pool and near the playground in the sand and kids 7 and 5 years old were jumping/swimming and sliding thanks :)
Fair price, not very crowded, clean. We had a lot of fun
Enough space for family with small kids , small pools ,food ok , nice place to have fun for couple of hours.

The best place at the Lake Balaton to see wild fish of the lake. I really suggest to visit it if you stay for a while at Balatonfüred and you like fish and submerged/water life.
A small aquarium with a few fish and models of animals, a cinema on aquatic life. not much to see - 18 tanks. 2100HUF for a 10 minute visit
A good place to getting familiar with the Lake biodiversity. The aquarium backgrounds are very good.
Placw is small but nice. U need like 20mins for the visit.
Small and neat aquarium with a nice selection of Balaton marine inhabitans.
It was very nice place, but probably they should include it as gratis for some coffee - you can walk whole building in 10 minutes, and price for small family was 2500 HUF.
it may seem small but provides a thorough presentation of the creature living in the lake. however the giant catfish is not that giant as much as they emphasize it on the website
Not much to see there. Couple of boring fish, we were out in 10 minutes. It's just a rip-off.

Monica was a great interpreter. I have zero knowledge in Hungarian but she helped me understand some important pieces showcased at the gallery. She translated really well. The highlight was getting a glimpse of the Hungarian culture .. I highly recommend!
Lovely art gallery. They have a big collection and most of the paintings have the information about it nearby which I liked the most. Also has a nice coffee place under the trees to relax a little.
Placed in a former grand house surrounded by an English style garden. The exhibition space is well though through and easy to walk around. I really like the retro Balatonfüred permanent exhibition. Worth the visit.
Interesting gallery at a beautiful location...rating 3 stars as any information is only available in Hungarian, so anyone who can't speak the language will feel a bit lost.
Beautiful villa with photogenic grounds. Unfortunately, the museum had little to offer.
This is really a great place to look some exhibition of the hungarian and international painting culture. And on the second hand is it a beautiful building and and the wonderful cared garden too.
Small exhibition, nice building, nice staff. Good program for a lazy family day when vacationing in the vicinity.
Elegant building, interesting exhibitions, now rare Dürer graphics are presented. Nice café too.

A great master of his time, Jókai Mór. You get to see his villa where he lived for 25 years and wrote his novels. A remarkable symbol of Balatonfüred nowadays. Definitely recommended.
It's relly nice, albeit it is forbidden to take photos, which is a shame. I would have liked to take some... On the other hand, not only is the exhibition beautiful but also the garden and the athmosphere is astonishing.
Nice little museum. Everything is in Hungarian only.
Don't miss it. Lot of interesting detail about the lives of aristocrats in the 19th century.
Interesting exhibition with historical items. A great house of one of the best Hungarian writer.
very nice place, loved the paintings. got a swell rucksack too from the souvenir shop.
Worth to take a look. Excellent "mapping" of real life to fiction in his works
Lovely house with atmosphere of the past well preserved.

Nice place, very informative, lovely and helpful staff🙂
Unachievable due to work on the access road, where construction workers arrogantly prevent passage to the entrance to the cave. The unpassable road is not marked, with a 3-year-old daughter we unnecessarily walked about 1 km in the heat. Shame for the whole town.
Small little cave, a nice afternoon short program, can be done in about 30 minutes with kids.
Nice exhibition, interesting cave, but small, excursion in Hungarian only. Check open hours before you go and take warm clothes with you. IMHO Nice to see if you are somewhere around, but do not worth of going hundred miles only for it
The cave is really interesting because of it's history, however it's a bit small. The air is really fresh there and said to cure illnesses
A small cave, a few dozen meters long, with only guided tours that take around 20 minutes and start every hour. The guide is not extremely professional and speaks only Hungarian. The cave itself is OK; don't expect anything wildly spectacular, but you can drop in if you like caves and if you have an hour, or on your way to Jókai lookout tower on top of the hill, which offers the best view of the environs of Balatonfüred and the Tihany Peninsula. There's also a small exhibition that can be interesting if you're into rocks and geography.
Nicely renovated building and a nice exhibition, unfortunately guided lectures are only in Hungarian and the cave is quite small ...
The cave is not huge but rather interesting. I like the divers bat population in the area. The architecture of the building is also a gem.
