Juiz de Fora is a city in southeastern Brazil. The Mariano Procópio Museum displays sculpture, paintings and colonial artifacts. Outside, Mariano Procópio Park has fountains, statues and native plants. Southeast, Murilo Mendes Modern Art Museum includes the poet’s library and art collection. Nearby, Cine-Theatro Central is a 1920s theater with ornate ceiling frescoes. Morro do Cristo hill offers views of the city.

The view of downtown Juiz de Fora from this place is breathtaking. There's a snack bar and a souvenir shop up there. Sometimes you can find only one person to assist you. But it's ok. The view makes it worth it. On weekends, there are more prople to assist at the shops.

This must be one of the best views of Juiz de Fora. It is most definitely the best view I have ever seen of the city. This is a little bit out of the way but worth the trip. I recommend checking it out if you have the time.

It isn't big but has very interesting shops with something peculiar. It is good for a walk and good for travellers that are passing by Juiz de Fora as there are many good food options. From Mac something to good restaurants. The only negative point I noticed on my visit, is that the parking is not good for medium to big size cars. A big SUV like Mercedes G class, Chevrolet Silverado or Ford F250 are going to use two lots.

Beautiful park, in in a crowded city, full of nice statues and and some wildlife like birds and local monkeys. Has a big lake and also a river passing. You can either have a picnic or go thru a trail.

I loved this park. The security was very friendly and I felt very safe walking around. I just sat by the water and watched the birds and admired the pergola covered in flowers. These is also a walking path around the lake/pond. Definitely recommend for a quiet moment.

It is a beautiful museum with a lot of very interesting pieces. The recent renovations have turned out wonderfully. I'm very interested to go back and see what other Restorations are made to the museum as well as to see the rest of the museum. There were a few portions closed off to the public during our visit. There is also a very beautiful Botanical Garden at the foot of the Hill leading up to the museum. One of the most beautiful places I have been to in Juiz de Fora.

The Mariano Procópio Museum has been recently renovated and opened up more spaces for visitation, where I had the opportunity to learn about Brazil's historical facts, in addition to having a beautiful experience with nature. However, the lake is poorly maintained and emits a bad odor.
