Armenia

Armenia is the capital city of the Quindío department in western Colombia. Framed by the Andes mountains, the city centers on lively Plaza de Bolívar, with its modern, triangular-shaped Catedral La Inmaculada Concepción. Leafy Parque de la Vida has a tree-lined lake and a roller-skating arena. At the city’s northeastern edge, the Museo del Oro Quimbaya exhibits ancient gold artifacts.

What a beautiful place and it's free! It's not very big, so take your time to discover all the treasures! The outside is worth walking around to admire the flowers and trees.
The coolest place to go to an exhibition, serch for information or just go to de reading book club.
Good free museum. A few exhibits and a cafe. Took about 40 mins to wander round. English signage on the exhibits.
Excellent place to stay as long as you want, because it is a safe and relaxing place. Inside the museum you will see a few collections of indigenous crafts and you will learn about different eras and historical events. There are also some rooms where you will see different art expressions for modern artists and also a conference room. In the surrounding of the main building, you could enjoy a beautiful garden with different trees, plants and a small pond where the frogs sing all day. It was a very good experience, the only thing to consider is that there is only one small coffee shop so the variety of food and prices is quite limited. PS: This building was designed by a famous Colombian architect named Rogelio Salmona, so if you enjoy architecture, this place is a must while visiting this city.
Happy to have an excellent museum in the Coffee Region. Beginning by the architecture, the place is great to have been done by Rogelio Salmona, one of the best architects of all Colombia. The spaces play magnificent with the water and the nature that surrounds the place in the interior and exterior. In the interior saloons you have an excellent collection of local art that will blow your mind. A big thank you to the administration for the great development.
The Museum is free to enter and we enjoyed the water feature. We noticed there was basically nothing to see so we stopped and spoke to a security guard. She explained, that the museum was closed for six years and is currently under reconstruction. It's free for now and will be completely reopened with lots to see in August 2023.
It's one of the 5 or 6 "Museo del Oro" in Colombia. This one explains who were the inhabitants of the region before the Spanish arrived. The building is well known (locally) for its architecture and it has a small but well cared garden and coffee shop.
Very beautiful and quaint museum. It's free to view everything.

Beautiful place, historic monument honoring Bolivar (as customary in Colombia), the best is the cathedral, fully in cement, but you don't realize it is really cement until you pay careful attention. My respects to the architect and builder.
It’s a beautiful place, so quiet a relax, but there are some homeless, and maybe you feel so insecure.
Love this square. Feel comfortable here. A lot of cafes around and good eating establishments. I like the fact there are activies for children to do. My 3 year old loved the electric cars on the plaza along with the electric dinosaurs to side. Nice square.
"Monumento al esfuerzo" is the title of the masterpiece created by Rodrigo Arenas Betancur for Armenia's. Also the township building is across the cathedral, a fun fact about it: back in the days all furniture and employees were located at the right side of the biulding (left wing was empty) people use to say it was related to a slight "tilt" of the tower.
A town without the central plaza is not a town in Colombia. This is one is again worthy of visiting. A couple especial items here: The government build on the side "Gobernación" offers a small art display room with very representative artists from the region. I also enjoy looking at the wide mural on one side of the plaza
The liberator, Simon bolivar born in Caracas, Venezuela and has a legacy and footprint in nearly every City in Colombia. I love the public space of the plaza where everyone gathers to skate, play music, preach the gospel, and hustle up sales for whatever business.
Sort of you post-modern concrete homage to old socialist human engineering design. Suggest you go to the side streets more flavor better coffee
A nice place to walk and enjoy the air or sit a read on one of the many benches. Full of people and full of energy. It can get a bit crowded at times throughout the day but still an enjoyable experience.

Very nice outdoor space with lots of greenery. Lots of urban buses pass through here.
Excellent steak house! For $12 I had a chateaubriand that would put to shame all of your big name, big bill, steak houses in the US. I guarantee you would pay $125 and still get a subpar cut compared to this steakhouse in Colombia.
Small but interesting enough to relax and walk a bit while planing for the next place to go. Although I did not have the chance I would had enjoyed a nice dinner or beer at night here. Maybe next time when I come back.
Police do not take good care of this park is full with homeless people major office in Armenia is a waste of money
Great place for a run, walk or just get away.
Safe place... nice Christmas decorations
Nice place to rest in this quite busy city. The coffee shop serves amazing coffee.
This is quite a charming little park in Armenia. It features a couple of small outdoor cafes under the shade of the park trees. It's a generally safe park, however it can get busy and, at times, pickpockets work the area. Adjacent to the park there are several restaurants and also a busy commercial strip.

One of the most iconic religious places in the city.
The cathedral is located in the Plaza de Bolivar in Armenia. It has a beautiful architecture not often seen in other churches I’ve seen in Colombia. The inside has beautiful stained glass windows. The one thing we noticed is the cleaning/maintenance seems to be lacking, as the ceiling is full of cobwebs.
Lovely quiet church in Simon Bolivar Plaza. Architecture is unique.
Interesting place. New way to organize religious architecture.
Sensational. Having impact. Spent time there to feel presence of Christ the Redeemer.
Usually the service is spiritually lifting. Occasionally, it isn't
Original construction, but dirty surroundings

When I am going to Armenia, I enjoy visiting this mall. It is very nice, you can find nice clothes for all members of the family, good restaurants, and movie theaters. It is located in a safe and beautiful neighborhood.
Not the first shopping mall built in the zone but maybe the most notorious, good location, have a quality cinema, nice restaurants, cafe and even a supermarket.
I visited during Christmas time and the decorations were so lovely. It made the mall feel very warm and cozy. We visited a handful of stores and really enjoyed how nicely we were treated by the staff in each one of them. One thing that seems to be common here is that the sales associates follow you around the store while you are shopping. So if that happens, don’t be surprised, as it is to be expected.
Comfortable and charismatic mall with a wide variety of stores for items, with a cinema multiplex, casinos and a food court with more than 14 restaurants. The parking is cost per hour, but it is nice to enjoy an afternoon drinking hot or cold coffee at the Juan Valdés chain of stores, watching people go by and go shopping. Very comfortable and with excellent location because it is in the "pink zone" of the city of Armenia.
This is a fancy and great mall in Armenia, Quindio for shopping. You'll find almost everythingin here.
The usual shopping center assortment (mall) you can find most anywhere. I went there for the coffee "granizados" at the lower level. I had to repeat the granizado... Great! Nice place for a good conversation. I went there in the morning before the rush, so I really enjoyed it.
Lots of options to shop from, featuring free wifi throughout. The food court has plenty of variety and its coffee shops are comfortable enough to even work from. If you have children, the mall has great entertainment options for them.
The shopping center is very close to restaurants, medical facilities in the city. Plenty of transportation to choose from; like buses and cabs. Place is very clean, the food court has plenty to choose from. A very comfortable place to have a cafe.
