Great little zoo, well laid out with a variety of species, many indigenous. Lots of shade and good facilities. Well worth the entrance price, allow 2 -3 hours to enjoy.
I was surprised to find this was a very good Zoo. It was clean. The animals looked healthy and well fed. They had a good variety of animals, many indigenous animals. If you enjoy visiting zoos I would definitely recommend this. Plus the weather is better there than is in Quito City usually.
I didn’t realize how big the zoo is! Like others have recommended, I would agree to giving yourself 2-2.5 hours to walk and see everything. If you want to have lunch in the zoo, there is a large area near the goats where you can order typical food and enjoy ice cream. You can feel good knowing that you’re visiting a rescue zoo.
This was such a fun experience! The animals were incredible and just breathtaking, the staff are definitely passionate about what they do and the animals seemed very happy. They have food in the middle of the park, I’d say a good hour or two to walk around and see everything.
$5 entrance. Definitely get there early before the families come and it gets busy. This is a good place to see the tortoises and other animals that are native to the region. Expect to spend about two and a half hours here walking around the zoo. It is a little bit out of the way and a $15 Uber ride from Quito centro
The zoo didn't have many animals. They need more interactive activities. However, where you can see the views were very impressive.
The zoo is very organized to handle the pandemic. There is typically one path to follow and one entrance and one exit from each exhibit. Like all zoos you run the risk of not seeing the animal(s) you want to see. In our case the sloth wasn't available. I think I enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful flowers as much as there animals
This is a awesome zoo! There are exhibits with birds and butterflies where you walk inside the enclosure with the animals. Moderate amount of hiking required to get around if you want to see the dry forest.
